Great design. The aquarium have accomplished the goal. The idea that people can have their own space and look at the species with no disturbance is fabulous. Some enjoy these species more than others. Like he said, it is not about beauty in architectural speaking, its about engaging people with nature and other species that we may not know about.

Although Peter's forward-thinking design remains largely intact, the New England Aquarium has been renovated multiple times since its construction, with both expansions and upgrades to bring its original exhibits up to modern animal welfare standards.
This is incredibly fascinating, I adore Aquariums and I never gave much thought to Aquariums being low lit on purpose but it makes perfect sense.
