For me, Flower Boy had a different meaning, because of where I was in my life when it came out. At the time, it was the summer between the end of highschool and the beginning of college. It was also the summer I turned 17. I was starting to become more of an adult (still don't really feel like one, even though I'm turning 23 in a few days) and it was the beginning of me trying to find things that I found important in life. And what I found, and still find, most important in my life is the time I spend with people I care about. And that's what this album will always remind me of This, of course, has nothing to do with the albums lyrical content, and this video is a great analysis of that, but that's what I'll always associate this album with
I'm both queer and autistic just like Tyler, and am doing really good but am really lonely as well, so Flower Boy hit so much and is such a personal and relatable album to me But hearing him on Call Me If You Get Lost made me admire him even more because of his "fuck them" mentality

I like how he says “how can we conquer our insecurities”, like it’s something an album could answer, or that one persons solution would work for anyone else. There’s a reason people go to therapy for years. Also, I don’t think there’s a person on the planet who doesn’t have insecurities, it’s part of being human.

That’s why Tyler can’t get back to November, because he’s trying to relive the memories and emotions, but he’s seeing it wrong as you can’t just go back in time to your youth, no matter how much you want to.
