From October to March, the weather is comfortable, cool but still sunny and ideal humidity. But people settle down in Dubai not because of sunshine only. UAE has good security, multicultural environment and high education. Also earning money very well and no personal income tax. Dubai’s government is quite open-minded, they quickly change their policies to suit with society.

Places like Palm Jebel are empty because nobody wants to live there. Lets face it, much of Dubai was not built as a residential city but as a vanity project for the ultra rich. Those living in the city are only supposed to service those ultra rich, nothing else. And when it comes to real estate investment its the same old story, you buy a property, keep it empty, in the hope that some sucker will buy it from you at a much higher price.

    • @f_2019

Hopefully is can be successful like Palm Jumeirah when its all finished. The island itself, despite being untouched for 15 years, is in remarkable good shape.

Dubai sits on the Persian Gulf, where there are no tidal waves, let alone a chance of a tsunami. It does not sit on an earthquake fault line, so it is impossible for a tsunami to hit Dubai. In fact, the water in the Persian Gulf moves so little, the sea salt water is much saltier than beaches sitting on the Pacific or Atlantic rim, because the water does not flush out beyond the Gulf of Oman into the Arabian Sea.

The prices projected for properties were all pre-2008. No way they're selling properties at those prices now to be able to recoup their investment. The Palm was expensive to build.
They're probably waiting for prices to come back up. Dubai real estate as a whole as tanked. It's aviation/port and tourism where they're looking at right now which have also been hit by the pandemic.

I really would like to know where these videos are produced. Most likely the makers have never been a single day in the UAE.

Many Non-Investors are commenting without understanding .
The reason why 'off-plan properties' are so cheap, its because you take the risk at buying something that's not built yet . When the person buys this, he/she knows VERY well that the project may never get built . These people took that risk and it failed .
There is 'no' guarantee whatsoever, and in most nations (especially western), you simply don't get your pennies back . But . Because these are Arabs, then automatically it makes them heartless and guilty because that's what CNN and BBC have taught us ... right ?
Come on guys - be fair . Be . Fair .
Ps. Palm Jumeirah has tripled in value - and still growing . Nakheel (the developer) was more than generous in swapping the property . Its simply the fault of the investors, nobody else .

Off plan properties have failed all over the world . Dubai isn’t the first, and sure won’t be the last .
      Stop it .

He knows everything when he knows nothing . Your knowledge is based purely of assumptions and hearsay .

@Between Lamp&post you seem like these men who are convinced that they are the most intelligent in the room and therefore they shouldn’t listen to nobody. Off plan constructions have always been risky to invest in because no one ever know if it’s going to happen and every investor who has the money to invest in this plans know the risk they take!
