I actually lived in Dubai from 2016 to 2021 and actually counted how many ditched sport/super car I saw on the side of the road from 2019 to 2021. Here are the scores: 27 Mercedes g wagons, 16 Lamborghini aventadors, 22 various Ferrari’s, including 2 la Ferraris
@@WreeperXD True....however there were only 399 Ferrari Enzo's made and at least one of them was abandoned in the UAE per the video. I suppose it's possible as I've been there as recently as pre-Covid and knew of at least 30 cars from a friend of mine who lives there.
When the bubble burst in Dubai people bolted never to return. I was a constant traveler in Dubai during the war years. Abandoned vehicles were everywhere
I spent two years working in the UAE and saw this first hand. I saw these abandoned luxury cars at random places but airport and hotel parking garages were the most common. It was a sad sight to see!
Just before I left the military, I’ve always heard stories of people abandoning their supercars in the desert when they run out of fuel. I always thought it was a bs... until now. And I left the military in 2007. So imagine how many supercars are really abandoned since.
Your friend is correct. There are gold bar vending machines. I lived in Abu Dhabi almost a year and drove a Land Cruiser. It was pretty common even with a $100k price tag. Ex-pats do in fact dump and run before the note is 90 days late.

It's mainly just fraudsters, Dubai is full of them. Not really 'people loosing their jobs'. Fraudsters from Russia/Europe & hell even Antartica knowing Dubai. 'Here for a good time not a long time'.
Been living here for the last 6 years and it always makes me sad to see cars being abandoned, there's a huge active car scene going on in Dubai, of enthusiasts and official races as well, cars are parts of the local culture here so if you're a car guy, this place is paradise for so many car related reasons.
@Green Mamba Games it's probably something like "the bodywork is beautifully obscured by 3 layers of rust. Used only for shopping, real treat, don't lowball me i know what i got" or something along these lines
@@vercingetorix5708 It''s mainly fraudsters tbh of which Dubai has many. The 'miss 1 payment' is a exaggeration, It's a civil matter until banks realise they've been frauded/person has fled. Then its criminal which is normal & good cause its a deterrent for future crime by banning people from UAE. So many people go abroad to have fun beyond their means then run away so you've got to clamp down hard on it.
I think they forgot to mention that cars driven 20kph (roughly 12 mph) over the posted speed limit of around 40-60 mph in Dubai racks up a 300AED, or a $81 USD ticket. Also, in Downtown Dubai, tickets are not given by the police and are automatically charged to your license plate, and there are speed detectors every 200-300 feet that will fine you. So, you might rack up $800 in tickets for over 1 mile of doing 75mph in a 60mph zone. BTW, you can't fight a ticket in Dubai, and the fine is imposed for every detector that catches you. Most of the locals here tend to head to the highways outside of town to drive fast, Dubai is a city that's very intolerant to bad drivers as the fine is so high for violations, everyone mostly look at their speedometer closely when driving aside from Dubai's Citizens that are connected with the police or the government. Also, another reason is that the police impounds cars for 25-30 days going over 25mph over the speed limit in town, and usually the impounded car owners rack up traffic fines in the tens of thousands, then unclaimed vehicle fines apply if they don't cough up the speeding/impound fine during that time. Honestly, Dubai is probably the worst city to own a fast luxury car, I would just buy a Luxury SUV with a v6 so you can't go fast without you noticing,
10 yrs there and I never saw a cop giving a speeding ticket. That is “beneath” them. I have passed a LOT of police cars while exceeding the speed limit. You just need to know where the speed cameras are, and doesn’t take to long to learn.
There is nowhere in Dubai (even Sheik Zayed Road) that has speed cameras every 300 feet. I travelling at 60mph/100kph that would equate with a speed camera every 4 seconds. Stop lying to people on the internet.
Haha, it's not all it seems like there, I used to live there till like 2 years ago and unless you're a multi national millionaire or something your best bet is to stay where you are, no kidding... The tax they were taking about was just income tax, the rest of the expenses that are to be paid for an expat living there are just way too much for a normal person... And about them making money from oil, that was many years ago, now it's mainly the tourism and the money they squeeze from said expats so yeah just keep these things in mind if you are even close to thinking of doing something like this...
@@nexusproductions2064 you’re right! Dubai is a massive mirage in the desert! It’s a big Ponzi scheme that’s created by the rulers of the kingdom aka the government. But like every scheme, there are some winners ( expat opportunists aka rich ppl and most locals) and lots of losers ( the average joe, mostly immigrants doing all the grunt work). This is eventually going to implode cause the novelty of the place is quickly disappearing so no tourism and no more oil money to bail them out! This is common knowledge to anyone who’s spent any time there.
It's actually really impressive these cars eve survive that much time parked on the streets without getting completely destroyed by people stealing parts or stealing the car itself. Even though the laws are really strict, there's always someone willing to take the risk of earning easy money.

Until you realize that if the car ever needs repair or to have parts bought for it you cant do that as without the vehicle registration you are physically not allowed to buy spare parts. This isn't America. This is the UAE we have shit in place against stuff like this happening hence why the crime statistics are incredibly low.

The reason is in many of these middle Eastern countries it is illegal to leave if you are in debt. Many people try to keep up with the lifestyle on show in the UAE, either Iver extend themselves or lose their jobs due to 2 or 3 recessions at this point. They then run and leave before there is a chance to stop them. However they will immediately be arrested if they were to enter the UAE again and held until debt paid.

You can most certainly fight a traffic ticket in Dubai.
There is nowhere in Dubai (even Sheik Zayed Road) that has speed cameras every 300 feet.
I travelling at 60mph/100kph that would equate with a speed camera every 4 seconds.
