You can also film multiple videos and "schedule" them to appear once a week like I do on my other channel Red Paparmane. It gives me time to do school work and work on the next videos.
This was really helpful because I took tip #1 and started a channel a few months ago, but it is hard to get people coming to it. I'll have to try some more of these and hopefully it will grow!

These are great tips. I am curious about whether you would have tips about a channel for singing. I am so unsure of it all! I want to do covers, and I am a stay at home mom so should I just start posting the covers, or should I make it more like a lifestyle blog about my journey? I have tried to look at what everyone else does, but I havent found anything relevant. It seems that most of the channels (& i will not mention them by name) but their 'tips' were NO WHERE NEAR As Good as yours! It was like ...they will give tips but not any REAL solid tips to truly help, but more like 'no brainers' like; " My First tip is; when starting out, you will need to have/get a TH-cam Channel!"...REALLY??!?.....they want it to SEEM Like they are 'helping you start out....but clearly they DO NOT WANT you to have a chance to have a BETTER Channel than THEIR Channel!....So thank you ..Clearly your tips are great tips and you Really made this video to Help us! I have been putting my channel off for 2 months now because I don't have my ring light yet and I'm going to be doing hair and makeup. I've been a stylist for going on 17 years now, but wanted to get into doing makeup and maybe even nails because I've done them all professionally and I Absolutely love my career. So I thought, what better way to do all the Beauty in one!!! I just need my lights because my house was built in 1924 and doesn't have really good lighting lol. I'm interested in tech,gaming and I think vlogs/reallife videos could also be fun but I don't want to do everything on one channel and I also can't decide if I should start an englisch channel or one in my native language. I watch a lot of youtube related videos but the theoretical isn't always that simple! IT's really hard to actually get notice on TH-cam. Maybe 1 percent of small youtubers actually become source of successful or grow ther channel well. BUT DESPITE ALL OF THAT TH-cam is still amazing and don't be discourage there will be an audience for you out there! #TH-cam
Tip number one just get started. Hahahaha that's probably the best advice I've heard. I've been on TH-cam for 10 years and have wanted to start a vlog this whole time. I think I should probably get around to just doing it finally.

Good video and I like the tip about the mirror if you haven't got a camera that shows you a viewfinder. Filming during daylight is a bit harder with a day job, but that's a good idea if you've got natural light to use. It's true that you don't have to invest money to start a channel, though if you haven't got a smart phone (yeah I still have a slide phone from 2009) or even a camera that keeps the settings (mine is a point and shoot from 2007 and the quality is going downhill), it's quite a bit harder to use what you've got. And just a FYI - Windows 10 doesn't have Movie Maker.

Good video and I like the tip about the mirror if you haven't got a camera that shows you a viewfinder. Filming during daylight is a bit harder with a day job, but that's a good idea if you've got natural light to use. It's true that you don't have to invest money to start a channel, though if you haven't got a smart phone (yeah I still have a slide phone from 2009) or even a camera that keeps the settings (mine is a point and shoot from 2007 and the quality is going downhill), it's quite a bit harder to use what you've got. And just a FYI - Windows 10 doesn't have Movie Maker.
Sarah Greiner yes, windows 10 does have movie maker- you just have to download it.
Bre's Random Fun yep I literally just downloaded it a few hours ago XD I searched windows 10 movie maker cause when I only searched up movie maker, it lead me to the one for xp and windows 7.
