FYI 2020: For the women's Switchback jacket the pouch is the left hand outside pocket. Turn the left pocket inside out and follow the video. When everything is stuffed inside, the packable tag shows and there is a zipper to seal it up. The right hand pocket doesn't have the tag or zipper. Thanks for the video! I would have never found it without this!

FYI: On the Watertight II Jacket, the packable pocket is in the left main pocket (not inside the jacket as shown in this video). You just turn it inside out. At some point, after you start turning it inside out, you'll see the packable label, keep going till you see the packable pocket's small zipper at which point you can then pack away your jacket.
Same for the Inner Limits jacket. There is a small pocket in the same spot mentioned in the video that is nowhere nearly big enough to fold the whole jacket into, I was starting to get concerned 'til I read this comment.
I plan on keeping my jacket as an extra, in my SUV. I noticed if you push the jacket, basically into itself in the packable pocket, when you take it out, it looks like you've been shot with a "wrinkle gun"!! If you take your time, you can see a way to fold the jacket 'til it will fit, folded into the packable pocket. When you take it out, it looks a lot better with random creases, instead of abstract wrinkles, all over.
I feel like a ding dong. I bought a Columbia jacket (second hand), and it has a "packable" pocket on the back. I had no idea it was for storing the jacket. I was lost as to its purpose, so thank you for the explanation.
Carsn Guns Thank you for the video. I just purchased a Columbia watertight II jacket and it said on the tags that it is pack able. Mine has a double zipper in the left pocket that says pack able on it and that is where you pack it.
lol, dude you didn't fold nothing, just crammed it in there. You're supposed to lay it down and gather the other end together then actually FOLD it, into the width of the interior of the pouch, but a little smaller in the dimension towards the pouch, so when you repetitively fold it over itself towards the pouch, it doesn't increase in depth more than the depth of the pouch. I suppose your way will work too, but if that's all you're going to do, you can cram any random jacket in any random pouch that's big enough for it to fit. I did do that for years with an emergency rain jacket I kept in my car trunk. I just put it into a gallon sized ziplock baggie to keep it clean and _completely_ dry.
- mercy bow coop for this vid - my recent acquisition is a tad different, but now that I know what to look for, I'm hoping packing the coat will go as smoothly as you demonstrated - I'm really surprised Columbia didn't include a 'how to' with the other tags on the apparel - perhaps they reckon if you can't figure it out for yourself, you shouldn't be wearing their stuff ; )

I don't know if it's a production change, but newer Watertight II jackets still fold into the left pocket but no longer say "Packable" on a label.
