    Amazing to think that once the American highways and streets were full of these kind of cars.

    • @arkhamlegend786
      @arkhamlegend786 4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      They were like spaceships. Back in the day people didn't care about emissions displacement etc. And those streamline designs never get old!

      Yeah, and you could walk from Coney Island to the Bronx in safety, the only drugs were among jazz players in Greenwich Village, churches were full on Sunday and people said things like thank you and excuse me. You mean that kind of America? Well please, bring back these cars...and the society it represents. Now we have ugly econo boxes and drugs, street riots and crime....

    What a find! The '60 Caddy was one on the finest looking and classiest cars to ever roll out of Detroit city. She's a driver, so the resto should be fun and a labor of love.

    Remarkable that it drives and stops so well as a barn find. I got a barn find and at least brakes had to be done.

      Gotta keep both feet working at a stop light to keep it from dying. Brake while still giving a little gas to smooth idle. Done it a million times.

    To me, there's nothing like the sound of a late 50's early 60's Cadillac exhaust.

    Powerful, throaty, and loud.

    Cool cah by the way!

    I LOVE the 1960 Cadillac!! I have a 1959 Coupe, still love the design and the 390 engine sound. Once the 472 came out in 1967 that unique sound ended. Great video of this rare Eldorado.

    • @cindylawrence1515
      @cindylawrence1515 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's absolutely correct. Caddys has a sound and "feel during that magic 1955 to, say, 1964 era. I guess the classic era extended to perhaps 1968 to my mind. But different engines had the different sound and feel. Thing was very few caddy owners modified the engines or even the exhaust systems. You never saw a classic caddy with an aftermarket cam or induction system. But the few that did learned Caddy engines were highly susceptible to even modest performance improvements.

    1960 was the best time to be alive in North America,it was the old world meeting with the modern age,pride and workmanship were still the cornerstones of our commodities back then which shows in the style and quality of materials used for everyday items,it was very labour intensive and anyone could get a job and make real good money in the early 60s if you worked hard and saved the old money.The story this car could tell would be one of success and the real American dream.

    Is it not true to say that early '60 models, and cars from all early parts of each year, to this day, were built using parts from the previous year, making this one, for example, possibly, a '59-parts '60-Registered car ?.
    Over Christmas, the parts we see moving now, were on separate shelves, in the factory, waiting to be joined together. Isn't this so, please ?

    This is a very great car of America and the american''s films. Or more than great car- this is a legend! The sounds of Cadillac's engine as the sounds engine of ZIL-130.This car better than GAZ-13. I love this monster!
    In Russia all people think, that "Volga" is very big and very heavy car with 112 hp engine and with about 1,5 tons of weight. But they don't no, that Cadillac's weigt about 2,7 tons and 340 hp engine.

      Starting in 1956, Cadillac added an Eldorado hardtop like this one. The hardtop was called the Eldorado Seville and the convertible became the Eldorado Biarritz. Also, a four-door hardtop called the Eldorado Brougham was introduced in 1957. The Seville and the Brougham were discontinued after 1960.
