It still gives me chills up to this day to hear Flo's line "we don't see much of you anymore." They all have no idea how Charlie beat death by complete chance, otherwise he wouldn't have dropped by in the first place.

@@ILVYP89female dogs can have puppies by different fathers in the same litter,she will often mate with multiple male’s during a single heat cycle,so she probably mated with many different males,including Charlie,and even Carface,looking at that pittie puppy.

Deep down, he does, he can be selfish and a bit theiving sometimes but he cares about these puppies, Flo, Itchy and Anne-Marie (although he just used her for gain at first) he eventually loved her.

This is why I dont get angry with kids. They make me happy like my kids all they want is to be fed and need some security in life. Something not alot of kids had when they grew up. Its like my kids they wont even let me put the pizza down when i get home but i love every second of it.

As an adult, I clued in that the puppies all look so different because there were multiple fathers to the litter, granting they were all Flo's, and started looking to the male characters to figure out which was which. Like the little green pup's dad is probably Carface since he's the only pittie we've seen, and their difference in personality is notable. Given the multiple fathers, Flo's flirtatious attitude and poverty, Charlie's interests in "dancing girls" plus illegal pursuits, and the other more adult themes in the film, I figure she may be a "woman of the night," so to speak, juxtaposing her home in a church. So, these puppies probably have a lot of "uncles," who would be Flo's clients and potential fathers. Whether active or retired from the trade, it's a strong possibility in my mind. It's also possible she is taking the place of a nun running an orphanage, mirroring Ann Marie's human experience, but this seems unlikely with her flirtatious attitude with Charlie, her cosmetic design, knowing how it is to be busy to "run a business," and simply knowing the nature of dog litters. I wonder if anyone else saw this scene differently as we've aged in a similar way.

The pups hardly look like Flo though, which makes me lean on the theory that the pups are orphaned puppies.
@@sketchalater4656 I think it's also a very good theory. I do recall though having litter of black lab mixes (mother was an abuse rescue and could not be spayed), and my favorite earned her puppy name of "Oddball." As a very young pupper, she was black like the rest, but her hair color quickly changed to blonde and she looked so much more like a cocker spaniel than a lab! You'd have a hard time guessing her mother. Everyone thought she was the sibling of our adopted dog, a blonde Jindo, rather than her brother from the same litter (different father though... his was a chocolate lab). I loved our little pack of 3 so much. Such strange histories and mannerisms to each. Dogs are too good for us, I swear.
Oh yes,I know two dogs whose mother was a basset hound,and they probably have two different dads,pittie mix and hound mix.
