  • I just wanted to make a quick video using some quick knowledge from the masters i learned to help get carving iron and talk about what im doing personally. Not meant to be that in depth or technical just showing you what to do and expect some gains. Make NA LS1 power with old iron 5.0 castings ( cam and other mods permitting )

    Thanks for hitting the highlights.

Have you seen David Vizard's scavenge plateau? He flattens out the chamber lip in front of the exhaust valve and says that alone is worth 10-12 hp. Also on the diy porting website he cuts down both sides of the pushrod pinch and made pretty solid gains throughout.

Yeah I thought I mentioned it here.. but it's in another video or two on this channel. I filmed every step to be able to show .. Then I stepped away for some time because it's too cold in the garage but I'm pretty sure 90% of it I filmed and have to edit together still. If you go through my videos you may find it or under the "preview" video making the main rough cuts for those. I like to talk a lot in these to give a deeper discussion but the main how to video is real time for one whole chamber/cylinder. So its a good couple hours. Keep in mind it's all percentage based though, so yes about 3% increase so those figures work for around 400 hp. Also as far as the pushrod bulge this is for a van and the objective as youll see on these heads is maintaining velocity for good torque/low end. I've also seen DV discuss biasing the bulge toward the ceiling to keep from losing velocity on differing heads. So on these the pushrod bulge is cut back about 50% toward the roof .. this makes a nice apex if you will going straight toward the short side radius. Charles Servedio doesn't see the benefit but that's what I'm going to go with because I'm certain it will create more velocity. I also am using partial dimpling to try and increase a couple CFM within the tunnels and back of bowl as I've seen tested. Basically all of the tricks you can do on an E7 without having larger valves are on the channel
