It is, I don't think it is per balance wire, maybe 5a across the whole pack t peak discharge, they never get more than 'slightly warm'

Sorry there's no source for the original BMS. Replacement BMS is just a generic 10s 15a unit so any suitable one will do
Can you repair Makita BL3626 36V Li-ion ?
I'm not sure! Often power tool batteries aren't worth the cost of repair. :(

What about the switch? It's no longer needed?
Unfortunately the switch wasn't compatible with my replacement BMS so battery pack is 'always on' not ideal but better than a new battery!
