Tbh I feel like how Griffith views Guts can be up to interpretation whether you take what he says to Princess Charolette to heart and he sees no one as his equal in the Band of the Hawk or he was just trying to look cool in front of her.
I side with he had deep personal and emotional issues he was never able to recognize in himself let alone show to anyone else. Man beat himself up so much for letting others die under his banner that we see he goes into a fetal position and shuts down.
In a way this allows him to bond with Guts on a deeper level as its two people traumatized by the circumstances of their lives and are able to live, respect, and bond together. Not as victims of their pasts, but as people struggling to shape better futures for themselves and rewrite their pasts.
But this all of course plays more into the tragedy of the eclipse. Guts' parting was a betrayal. I would not necessarily go as far to say Guts was Griffith's "other half" or that he even viewed him as an equal, but either way Guts meant something to Griffith. Whether it be Guts was a valuable pawn that he enjoyed having around to someone he felt as if he could let his guard down with, either way neither of these positions necessarily requires Griffith to see Guts as an equal.
Guts was just a soldier. A captain at the time to a mercenary band Griffith made. Griffith probably would have still made it to knight-hood without Guts, of course with more deaths in the process, but when you look at it that way the question is still up in the air as to how Griffith views Guts.
You can respect someone, be their friend, be cordial, live with them, bond with them, and many more all the while not seeing them as an equal on the same playing field. Its all up to perspective on how we deem our peers to be our equals, and ultimately for Griffith, how he views his equals.
And hey, perhaps being an equal could be a threat were you to know Griffith as that could mean you were a threat to his dreams.
Anyways, I enjoyed listening to the video! Just wanted to share my point of view, please let me know what you think.

Griffith is that ex that screws you constantly in your life because it's angry that you are not theirs anymore.
In my opinion, I think he viewed Guts as an object like anyone else in his world, while hiding his true feelings (not saying he was gay, but he REALLY was a bit frisky), the moment he noticed that Guts was his own entity and not a mere follower to play with, he understood what he lost: one of the two most importante people in his life, and the only other man in his lonely life (with Caska being the only woman who he ever cared for as we see in a flashback).
I think that he (not Femto but Griffith reborn) constantly fakes his feelings of apathy and disdain, as to not regret his actions. He is after all technically Guts' and Caska's son, how could he harbor those feelings for his own parents?
