My first bike (in 1976) was an RS 125 Yamaha. The earlier ones were quicker as they didn't have any power restrictors on them and they were tuned higher. Mine would cruise along at about 70 mph easily and I once even got her up to 85mph (briefly) whilst lying flat on the tank, downhill with a gale force backwind - but she seized as the gudgeon pin slipped out as the circlip holding the pin in broke due to the vibration. It had a stupendous angle of lean. The only Japanese bike that I couldn't ground. It needed thrashing to get the best out of her. I loved that bike.
Rs125 had 5 speed box back in 1978 when I had one. Dangerous beast in the wet with yokahama tyres. Rock solid on Michelin’s. Always started fine except every time I stopped for petrol it wouldn’t start unless I cleaned the plug.
I had a green one in 1975 , found it a great bike for commuting and pleasure riding also had a great holiday going up from London and around the Lake district and Yorkshire dales on it.
Love this I had the same model 5 speed in blue, oh the times I had, best days of my biking life, I loved that little two stroke, I used to run Avon Road runners front and rear.
I had one of those back in 1990...it was my second Motor cycle and it was a Hoot to drive. I got my first and Only case of Severe Road Rash after coming a cropper at the Black Church junction of Western way and Mountjoy st. The bike sliding on some Fuel/Oil from a Bus from the Broadstone Depot.😮😮😮 Was a Very common Hazard at junctions in that area Dublin 7. I was actually going to Mountjoy Cycles to get some bits for it...ended up in the Chemist next door for Some Bandage and TCP instead 😅
Long story short.. got two and wondered what have I done.. didn't do anything for 5 years.. then thought well I. Not getting younger so rebuilding one.. can't wait to take my kids to a wellington Cafe on a sunny Sunday on it. Can't wait
@@RetroBikesDublin si es una RX 125...Todas las Yamaha RX100, 125 y RX 125 eran igual (1981)japones...hermosa tengo una RX 100 y tuve una 125...también una GT 80 YAMAHA... BELLEZA

If I remember correctly these had 5 gears . I had two of them back in the early 80's . They were a tough little machine
