I collect these in the woods and old railway embankments usually after a frost . They grow in rings called fairy rings and they smell slightly of aniseed , excellent to eat Steven would love them. I saw some at my local farm shop for £ 3 .00 for 200gm . Why not take one to your local farm shop and get it analysed . Best wishes as always .

@@OurSmallholdingAdventure I seriously get that one. I haven't even been out into the garden yet - my hands are going blue in the house even with the heating on. Med condition that jiggers me up. Am looking to get out there though and have started some seeds in the bathroom! However its nice to see you getting all the years of hard graft into something that works for you and your goals and into the Pantry. xx

😂😂 I just said that on my last video, it isn’t a garden if the plans don’t change. Pony is looking much better 👍. Not a bad harvest parsnips and carrot for soup. Wind seems to be blowing the cloud away so at least it’s not raining ☔️. The dominoes effect of garden chores. So just a few carrots then 😅😅. I have used tape before and they are great if you don’t like thinning, and I don’t grow nearly as many. Wonderful to see so many things bursting into life. So true Ali lol and thank you very much. The carrots I sowed too thickly seemed to do ok in these beds, so fingers crossed both the tapes and loose seed work well - I hope you're having a lovely day :)
So jealous over your rhubarb crumble. My rhubarb doesn’t want to show its face with all the wind and rain we’re having. My rhubarb has been moved 3-4 times though so I don’t take much from it. Hoping this year once the weather improves I will get a bigger harvest. The garden and seedlings are looking great with you. I’m hoping, like you to get so much done in the Easter hols but it will be sowing seeds and prepping beds as I can’t start as early as you. I may be lucky and possibly be getting a polytunnel at some point in the near future 🤞🏻so always watch you trying to learn your tricks and tips.
This variety is really early - my main crop is just poking through. Thanks for the info on moving yours too. I hope you get everything done you plan to. I'll keep my fingers crossed for that polytunnel! Thanks for being here Gaynor
Agree with everyone else that’s purple sprouting broccoli. I tried two varieties last year - one had leaves reminiscent of Brussel sprouts and one the leaves were more like red Russian kale. I think it can vary depending on how they’ve been crossed. Things look great!

Sun’s out changes everything! Housework can most definitely wait - the garden cannot! 😉 I reckon they’re purple sprouting broccoli. Whatever they are they look very edible and delicious.
That parsnip can definitely wait a week if you can top up the bed it’ll be worth it I reckon. As for the bread machine - brilliant for the time poor and at least you know exactly what’s going into it. 👌

Our rhubarb is almost ready... so exciting, the carrot and parsnip bed look great. Kale flowers are absolutely lovely sautéed with a bit of garlic butter.

Running a smallholding, holding down a job, cooking, baking bread, is there no end to this ladies talent ??? you must be running on a 36 hour day ? I agree with Steven if there is no meat there, its not a meal.
