I think you'd crash less if you had to pay for replacement drones! I bought the most expensive one I could so crashing it wasn't an option, makes for a steep learning curve!

Basically the only places you can't fly a drone without prior approval is within a certain distance from an airport, there are maps online that are easy to find and tell you exactly where it's legal to fly/not fly, I'm fairly sure he likely used one of those apps.

Casey when you are using drones they are a whole new level of delicate. Never force or smash them into a box because every piece on a drone is vital so losing one can affect the whole flight. Love your vlogs and keep up the good work!

To be honest, drones just aren't good enough to be Casey-proof yet - they're pretty delicate and require a lot of babying, i.e., you probably shouldn't bend the props in the backpack. Though I'm glad manufacturers are seeing this kinda stuff, because it'll spur them on to make them rock solid and more dependable for everyone :)

When I started learning a few years ago, I smashed one of my first drones into a tree before I even knew what happened... it takes a while to learn how to react without thinking. Highly recommend new pilots practice every day with something small like a Blade Pico QX :)

Yo Casey, I was having trouble flying my drone, the same one that you have, and then I watched this video. It really helped a lot and decreased my number of crashes to almost none.

As a long time RC airplane and quadcopter pilot the problem is you started with the quadcopters that don't require you to really pilot them... Headless mode, GPS lock are all cool things but to really learn how to fly these takes practice.. If you really want to get good at it get away from all the GPS smart quadcopters and really learn to fly one manually first then when you get into trouble you will know how to fly out of it manually... The other option is to go with a GPS open pilot system where you can plot the flight via software and then just let the autopilot system do all the work...
Man Casey is a genius! He does really good work! I only have one video with 300,000 views. It's the top video in it's category but I'm a one hit wonder. LOL Can anybody tell me how to make my IT videos better? I think I just need to make more videos because I get a TON of positive feedback. Some even took my Udemy course which was awesome! The DJI has actually stood up very well to Casey. All he's ever broken on it are props, which are considered to be consumables.

Unfortunately I feel as though Casey proof drones will NEVER exist... how can you protect a drone from a crash while it's 100 ft above you?
