I'm 21 years old and I genuinely have a lot of love for you and your help. I was about 14 when I became obsessed with quantum physics, and then later shifted that knowledge after consuming all I could bare, into stumbling upon mysticism. I've been diving into esoteric truth for almost 2 years now, and have recently found myself coming back to western practice, after having a childhood of dogmatic trauma associated with Christianity, and Abrahamic religions in general, which I ran away from after childhood. But being alive in a time like this where I can have your guidance in an practice such as Magick means so much to me. After looking into pre-Romanized Christianity, I can finally come back to my roots, and learn what was never taught to me by my (very loving) dogmatic parents, and prepare myself for this endeavor. I'm going to take my time, and most importantly STUDY this realm of opportunity. But I can say, I'm very eager and excited for there future. Thank you Damien for doing this. You're changing lives, and helping mine immensely. Hope I can catch you live soon.
This was a great video. Thank you, brother. Low-key I've been preparing for this work my entire life, and remembering these things always musters a chuckle from within me. When I was a child I spent nearly all of my time in study and reading. My home life was very bad and that was how I escaped. After reading a description of something, say, the small brown cottage some random war general grew up in, I'd get lost in thoughts of picturing this cottage in my head. The way the iron door handle would feel in my hand, how bad it would hurt to brush up against the side of the cottage covered in wooden planks and end up with a gnarly splinter, what it would be like to live there, etc. For reference, I'm presently 38 but I still love to read every bit as much as I did as a child, and I still pretty much do it all day everyday 😁 When you were talking about hot weather I couldn't help but think of moving to Florida from the Midwest at age 10 and experiencing the dreaded heat of my first summer there. Like, hard to breathe and instantly pouring buckets of sweat the moment you step outside from the air conditioning. These memories have served me well thus far on my journey through magick. I just wanted to share my random thoughts. 😁 Thanks again!

Silver Ravenwolf welcomed me into magick when I was 13/14, too. I remember getting flack on the witchcraft message boards I used to use back then as everyone would call her Fluffy. If it resonates, it's not fluff, her work was about finding a way to explain what other writers would be to pompus to bother to do. I've travelled far from who i was then in my practice, but I'll always hold a place for her in my heart!
I appreciate the thought you put in foundational magic. I was also the kid at the library reading books they wouldn't let you check out... your work will save newbies and even novices a lot of time. Also your magical testimony helps me know I'm also achieving my goals with my will.❤

This is a personal note, but I know exactly what you mean about reclaiming the enchantment of the world. I am now substitute teacher at a school which I failed to finish because my parents seperated and I moved to another state. I am teaching very young children who are blooming into adulthood at that very same school. What I often think about is the fact that I was once in their exact position over a decade ago, and one of my chief regrets was that I didn't finish that school. Somehow I ended up back here, and while I couldn't finish out that school year over a decade ago, today was the last day of school and I got to finish out the year for hundreds of others. During my time I had the privilege to serve them. At the moment, this is my will. I never dwelled in the past after discovering magick, but yet somehow I still got to tie up loose ends, and it's as if that trauma never happened to me.
The way i experience it at the moment is that "the sword" gives me energy to actively bring change while "the serpent" puts me in a great state to enjoy what i created and move in it in a fluid way

With the Tree of Life, leaping straight to working with Geburah, after reading High Magick, burned me to say the least! 'You just haven't earned it yet, baby' by Morrissey springs to mind. It seems there is no such thing as a freebee, and the qualifier for the good of all, and the harm of none, and the divination step would appear to be critical.

I disagree with what I'm thinking is some Greer stuff. Pentacles isn't winter. It's earth, and therefore autumn. Cups is water, therefore winter. These correspondences are askew
North=Earth=Winter West=Water=Autumn At least in the Golden Dawn system. I prefer to get my directional correspondences from the "Prayer of the Shekinah", which the L.B.R.P. is derived from
I wouldn't even know how to answer how one would make progress in magick, I'd more tell someone to think about what they want to do (or do with it). Trying to advance in general could have you spinning your wheels. It's too big. After years studying it myself, there is plenty of stuff some might consider rudimentary/basic that I still haven't learned, just know of.
