Nice reaction lads! It's such a crazy concept, yet somehow works amazingly. They're in a league of their own as far as energy and perfect live shows. The album stuff is fine, but they are 150% better in a live setting. This band helped pull me out of deep depression, and i ended up getting help for it. It also made me fall in love with Metal again, because it had gotten so stale for many years, with so many bands sounding the same, trying to do the whole "Djent" and Metalcore stuff. Babymetal and Gojira are 2 bands that made me love modern music and want to follow it again, to the point that I do nothing but explore new stuff now, whilst still loving the classic bands of the 70's - 90's. You must check out 'Ijime Dame Zettai, Live at Sonishphere 2014' in the UK, as your next reaction to them. It's on their channel. That'll blow your minds. 50,000 metalheads, 80% of them probably knowing nothing about Babymetal, and almost everything that could go wrong before the gig, did. The festival runners weren't good to them. They got no rehearsal time, and had to do their soundcheck real quick (just the instruments) in front of the crowd. Also imagine being a 14 or 15 year old girl, or even boy for that matter, in a strange country, where you don't speak the language, and having to go in front of 50,000 crazy, rowdy metalheads, who judge artists VERY harshly on stage (bottles of urine have been thrown at bands in the past). That's all the back-story I'll give. Check that video out and see the results for yourself ;) \m/

I've been into both anime and metal long enough to appreciate this group. If one isn't really familiar with Japanese pop music or the Idol Pop genre that is unique to Japan, then it's understandable why many people don't dig their style.
i was idol hater (i kinda hate dancing-and-lipsync thing) yet now i am digging Babymetal and Sakura Gakuin..... they make me realize that by hard work they can both dance and sing (some with playback tho, but still have the taste of real voice there), and dancing+singing can be a good medium in presenting the meaning of music :)
Nice reaction. Also from Sydney, I would recommend Babymetal Megitsune and Headbanger and Tales of the Destinies which has a real prog rock feel. Definitely channeling Dream Theater.
Glad you enjoy it! you should really try Ijime dame Zettai at sonisphere, that was their first big stage on europe (50k+ peoples) and their first pure metal scene ( back in 2014 ). Also for me their best live show ever is METROCK 2015 ( www.dailymotion.com/video/x49sqy2 ) start at 20:22 for "Road of resistance". Most reactions use the offical version wich is very good and nice, but this one is really special and very few people did reaction on it. This one is sort of Athem of the band, often use as show closer, for very good reasons!

If you're up for more Japanese girl bands, they have a great scene that's very powermetalish. Babymetal combined it with "idol", which is usually pop.
