Just Wow. Grinding the first Clean, misses the jerk, recovers for 2 minutes, cleans the jerk almost harder and finally Jerks it. Unbelievable performance. This competition before the olympics pushes the athletes to their absolute limit.
This competition is just crazy, with the new olympic system it forces athletes to gamble on WR attempts to be allowed to even go to the Olympics. If you are from a country with a lot of lifters such as China and compete in a stacked weight class you practically need to set a total WR so they will let you go. This is gonna push the limits for so many athletes and potentially shatter many long standing records but most likely also gonna end quite a few careers earlier than they should.
IOC is doing this to rob china of medals. In sports like swimming and athletics, federation sent multiple athletes per discipline and grab multiple medals. Only in weightlifting their is so much restriction. @@pizzatime7431
that just means whoever goes is a guaranteed gold, the Olympics will be dogshit in term of actual competition. A lot of "olympians" will just participate.
She could have "sealed" going to the OLY, but if that arm is fucked now, she 100% IS NOT going cause China will just pick one of their other lifters that can win gold with a hangover and diarrhea at the same time. So even if she set a WR, it only matters IF China believe she cannot possibly fail at winning gold.
A huge shoutout to WH for opening up weightlifting to the public. Was delighted to see several athletes sporting WH merch in the comp. …and of course, monster lifting by an amazing competitor!
Can you tell me how this new olympics qualification process works? I have seen other vids where they mention a particular athlete needs to make the top 10 to go but then reading other comments here it seems that each country has an allocation of 3-4 athletes they can send. Thanks!
@@Tolkfie bit late but there are 5 different weight classes per gender at the olympics, and each nation can only send 3 athletes per gender. A powerhouse like China leads in more than 3 weightclasses. That means strategically picking 3 of your best 5 categories to compete in. Chinese athletes can't simply be the best. If you just win, well, sucks for you but your countryman in another category won by more, and since we can only take 3 people, we're taking them instead. To be selected, they have to demolish their competition and continually set new WR. If they don't, they'll be passed over for the person who does.
Feels a bit sad that i am around the same weight at 52kg .. and cannot even lift 1/4 of the entry weights. I think the heaviest i have ever lifted was something weighing 30kg .. and it wasnt nice.
@@Steve-pq7cb In that case it is ridiculous. Personally, I find the Olympics overrated. I think world championships and world records are the benchmarks in any sport.

I hope her arm recovers quickly. What a fantastic lift.
No Injury! It is very Important.

The climb to the top demands a lot of sacrifices
this is the stupidest and unfairest rule it should at least take into account each country's population

At this rate in 2032 they’re only going to let current world number 1’s qualify for the olympics

This is the unhappiest I've ever seen someone after setting a world record lol.
I guess because she hurt herself and wasnt sure if its an injury or not
@@T_RyanRain yeh that is messed up. she literally did more in c&j than most 71kg lifters which is nuts. she is on another level

Pretty sure that’s pain bud xD
Luo will get the gold in Paris, no one is on her level currently in that weight class
Su plaza estaba en duda si la mandan a ella para debatirse con Konotop o a Liang X para debatirse con Solfrid y Sara Samir

Wow, that is the most technical lift I’ve seen
I can feel the pressure from thar title alone
"World record or you can't go to the Olympics" is exactly how I've been describing qualifiers to everyone I know 😅

140kg Third Attempt looks heavier than Second but Jerk was Solid
Зачем так рисковать, аж руку чуть не повредила
Плохо что в описаниях весов и подходов не показывает личный вес отлета.
These next video suggestions pop-ups are wild. They won't let me view the final score card and no way to remove it
Move the video a little
Luo is lifting well above double here own weight - That is insane
How does the Olympic qualifying work?
Can someone explain, please? Only oner person per weight per country can go to the Olympics?
Yes but not only that. A country can participate only in 6 games of the total 10 in Paris. It's pathetic they set such rule to hurt China!
If they don't have such limitations, China has a very good chance to take 8 or 9 gold medals in weight lifting.
