I can't stop thinking about Sam Pauly performing All you Wanna Do. Like she took a fun Brittany Spears inspired song and made it into one of the more emotionally devastating performances in musical theater ever.
It's probably one of two songs in theatre that ever truly got me made me have to step back for a moment (the other being Waving Through a Window from Dear Evan Hansen, because that...that one hits close to home sometimes). And I listened to it on the album the first time, seeing the live performance just rocks me to my core.
I wish I was your friend 😂 NONE of my friends are into musical theater, and if their first musical was Ride the cyclone they would be asking some questions😅

My theater company did it recently with the most insanely talented group of high schoolers to ever walk the earth and it was better than the og cast. So yeah

Seeing ride the cyclone on this compilation made me really happy and sad at the same time because I was recently in a production of it as Karnak and it was probably my favorite musical I’ve done in my entire life. I miss it so much. The cast became my friend group 😭
I had a dream where I was playing Ocean in a production but i kept screwing up the choreography, but everyone thought that it was meant to be a representation of how she was different from the choir (i guess this production was making Ocean out to have some tragic childhood or something???)
The way both of Micha's song are written is great. Like his is "opposite" to normal songwriting for musicals. The most painful and emotional parts for him are the part written in a "fun/funny" way. Especially the second one when he was singing about Thalia. When he felt the most pain he was singing/rapping (the part that was like "I wanna be with you baby"). Other thing about RTC is I love how the underrated members in the choir have the most impressive vocals/songs. Like nothing against Ocean plus I don't know her actual vocal range/capacity, but the way the songs written in the musical, the person who couldn't talk, the person no one remembered, the person who was gangsta, and the person who was the nicest and invisible had some of the most mind blowing vocals. Especially Ricky and Jane Doe in my opinion

I saw Sam in Six last year! She was of course gutting in All You Wanna Do All of the other queens were excellent too (it was almost all the original cast)
