80' and 90' US installed nuke in SK. Which is I believe caused NK' nuke building. Why people does not talk about this?

China also got a lot of nukes too, presumably from Russia, especially during the cultural revolution, right ? And Mao was in charge of those nukes, was he not? I thought that they had been decommissioned. Obviously not.

@Ahmet Tekin here you go! do your own research next time! do you expect CNA to disclose?
"Paragraph 13d of the Armistice Agreement mandated that neither side introduce new weapons into Korea, other than piece-for-piece replacement of equipment.[34] In September 1956 the U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Radford indicated that the U.S. military intention was to introduce atomic weapons into Korea, which was agreed to by the U.S. National Security Council and President Eisenhower.[35] The U.S. unilaterally abrogated paragraph 13d, breaking the Armistice Agreement, despite concerns by United Nations allies.[36][37][38] At a meeting of the Military Armistice Commission on 21 June 1957, the U.S. informed the North Korean representatives that the United Nations Command no longer considered itself bound by paragraph 13d of the armistice.[39][40] In January 1958 nuclear armed Honest John missiles and 280mm atomic cannons were deployed to South Korea,[41] followed within a year by atomic demolition munitions[42] and nuclear armed Matador cruise missiles with the range to reach China and the Soviet Union.[37][43] North Korea believed the U.S. had introduced new weapons earlier, citing NNSC inspection team reports for August 1953 to April 1954.[35][44] The U.S. believed that North Korea had introduced new weapons contrary to 13d, but did not make specific allegations.[45]"

@@Bug-sg1li The US has to. Even MacArthur feared the rise of China during Korea. War hawks in the pentagon are upset because its easier to strike when the enemy is weak ,but they've let the problem smolder for too long. I'm more interested in seeing what happens in this Russia-China relationship because it might be more of a China-Russia relationship. Possibly, we might see Russia lose the eastern territories if the regime falls.

South Korea and Japan should be ready with resources to build nuclear weapons , just in case if war becomes inevitable, these display of weapons would change the scenario completely.

    • @juanandreas97

the problem, japan won't let south korea have one, it's excuse for another asian country to build the arsenal, also will lossing US grip on Asia, did u know if u possing nuclear those country can also ditch US influence and won't listen to them. look North Korea. just small poor country. but why don't US just attack them instead give sanction? because they have nukes.
what happen if Japan and south korea won't listen to US anymore? is that what US wan't? then it's good anyway

Comparison by Japan PM on the use of atomic bombs in WW2 to decapacitate an egregious aggressor to welcome the arrival of world peace is not compatible to a nuclear bomb threat make by an invader and occupier in Ukraine with aim to annihilate an independent sovereign nation, nothing of parallel in both scenario with regard to WMD.😤😤

The expert speaking at 22:40 is a bit naive, since he explains a solution to the North Korean nuclear situation is to integrate the country into international systems and norms, like China and Vietnam did, and let North Korea 'change' internally. But China and Vietnam never had the equivalent of South Korea: Taiwan and Hong Kong were far too small to pose an existential threat to the CPC government in the mainland, while South Vietnam had already been defeated by North Vietnam.
The inevitable outcome of a North Korea that integrates itself to a US-dominated world order is the total collapse of the regime and rapid integration with South Korea, or Chinese intervention. Germany faced a similar situation in 1989, but the big difference was that the Soviet Union under Gorbachev no longer had an interest in keeping the moribund East Germany afloat, while China is determined to maintain the status quo in Korea. I think North Korea is biding its time and waiting for the American era to sunset so it can become "normal" under a new order in the Pacific defined by Chinese hegemony.

Other than Japan the rest of Asia is peaceful. No one wants war. They have experienced the atrocities suffered under the Japanese during the Japanese invasion and under Japanese occupation. Japan is the only one feeling insecure because it has not changed its spots and continue to talk aggressively. The one who commit atrocities will always feel insecure. And the insecure will slways gang up together for protection. Except in this case Japan is dispensable and should wa break-out Japan is solely "collateral damage".
