Great intro Eric, it was a masterpiece! Underwater swim shots of Paula's stroke to drone shots -totally awesome. Paula, your interview was very informative, you nicely articulated the differences between the Shiv TT/Tri bikes. Also kudos for opting to ride outside in foul weather.
Great video as always, the music edit this week was awesome, the track used in Paula's swim segment, and later in the TT bike section fab. Loved it. But I always do. Those UCI folk like to spoil all the fun! Lol. But mainly because those time trials don't last for 56, or 112 miles I guess. Triathlon always led the way in terms of development and tech. That's why way back in 1989 Greg Lemond rode in the Tour De France time trial with the then-in-vogue clip-on aero bars, boy how far has our sport pushed the bike development envelope. All the way to Kristian Blimentfelt Cadex bike, triathlon always has and always will be at the forefront of bike design and innovation. Anyway stay safe, see you both next week, much love from the UK
I think this was super good for you. Training on a trainer is great because you can focus essentially on power only, but it's not the real world. Your real races don't happen indoors, they happen on the road. Great job!

Eric - If a Competitive Setup Secret - completely understand not sharing, but still curious about Your Rear Tire "incident" earlier in the year at a race, also still wondering what tires You were riding in the rain when You won Alcatraz recently and what Tires Paula was practicing on in the rain. Go Paula for Edmonton TT.
The rear tire incident was slamming a pot hole and the tire was fine, but I was concerned about the integrity of the wheel. It turned out to be fine. I'm running schwalbe pro one TT's and Paula is using the specialized turbo. Both of us are riding 28c
@@ThatTriathlonLife Thanks So Much for sharing. Glad your wheel was ok. I went to Schwalbe TLE Pro One & Ones after struggling too many times trying to mount Conti GP5000 TLs on certain wheels. Also ridden the Turbos - all 28s.....smooth and fast. Curious about new Conti S TRs but got plenty of rubber left now. That Alcatraz ride in the rain was so impressive and so was Paula's in Edmonton on another wet City (painted lines) course. Roll On!

" For morphological reasons a rider is allowed either to move the tip of the saddle forwards to the vertical plane of the bottom bracket, or to position handlebar extensions forwards up to a maximum of 80cm in front of the center of the bottom bracket." Since you specialize (no pun intended) in half distance, do you think you would be better off on the tt instead of the tri if you fixed the front end to be more comfortable.

I just bought a shiv TT and I absolutely love it. One of the coolest classic looking bike ever made.

The wireless blips are super interesting, do they feel much different when shifting Paula? I might go this route for my electronic shifting setup.
They feel totally fine/normal! they require a similar amount of pressure to the wired ones and you know when you've hit them
