Eric I love when you race...but I also love when you don't, cause I feel it gives you this extra space that gets the creative juices flowing! Beautiful storytelling and cinematography :-) And Paula amazing race! It looked insanely cold and hard. You guys are the best!! Thank you
Paula is such a great interviewee, articulate and candid. Don't let those unfamiliar technical descents in less than perfect weather get you down. You had a good race, look at the ladies in front and behind you!.
The vid felt like a more artsy version of your older tourist videos. Those are what keep me excited about triathlon. The opportunity to travel to new cities and do new things! Congratulations Paula! It was super exciting to see you finish ahead of the two previous winners!
Glad you enjoyed it! That makes me really happy to hear. I love making the ones that put the city on display and me not racing finally gave me the chance to do this one right :)
Another fab episode, love watching Paula race. Such an iconic race. I am now hoping you decide to come and race T1OO London, so I can have the opportunity to watch you race live! I have the time booked off to travel down Friday hoping your coming. Music edit as spot on as always, stay safe both, much love from the UK David x x
Great video, Eric! I love your ability to capture the love and feel you have for a city/region so beautifully (the Santa Cruz and previous Alcatraz videos are some of my favorites) . Also thank you for showing San Francisco's diverse, clean and safe neighborhoods as there are many. As a Bay Area native, it's frustrating to see and hear the constant over exaggerations of life out here by media. I appreciate all that you do and hope you continue to make amazing content.
I know every city has its struggles, (my hometown, Portland is no exception) and I don’t want to act like I turn a blind eye. But, I do tend to see the beauty in every place and I really love all the unique, beautiful bits that San Francisco has to offer :)
Even though I LOVE the Triathlon Training Bible (LOL) I love the TTL vlogs and the podcast!!!! All the support to Eric and Paula in this crazy journey... you are a breath of fresh air for us the 9 to 5ers.
@@ThatTriathlonLife just wanted to make a joke about that subject 🤣.... some people really need to take life with more sense of humor!!!. Love the Vlog and the pod!!!. I truly loved that book, it was a good way to understand training and planning for a race in my super hectic life (triathlon is, after all, a hobby)
What a video, Eric! As an OG, I loved every single one of them. Bringing the coffee shop home was a favourite of mine in terms of story, control burn .. duh! but the travel ones like Oceanside are so effin travel porn, and then this one! Yes, Paula and all, love her, but you do it all justice and put it all together so damn well. Gawd, I love you guys. (And nick)
Great video and I believe a great race. Cycle leg never seemed ideal for you, but both swim and run legs seemed to go well. 6th is pretty good in that field and that course.
We just didn’t have time to do it, since Nick and I went to film in Canada immediately after the race. We recorded last night and it’ll go up this Thursday 👌
Well done Paula. That looked like a tough race. In your IG post, you mentioned you had been struggling a bit with the mental side, not just in racing but in training as well. Was that just in relation to the T100 San Francisco race or racing/training in general?
We've gone into it a bit more in-depth on the podcast (and even this week I think), but it's really a byproduct of the T100 schedule. There's a LOT of high stakes racing throughout the year, and our move from the draft-legal scene was largely to go to a the more relaxed 70.3 circuit where you can really pick your race calender fully at-will. You maybe race 8 times a year, but 70.3 Worlds is the one "big one" where you pull out all the stops, get extra stressed and measure yourself against the best in the world. Along comes the PTO and you have a race of that caliber every 6 weeks and it's a lot to handle. It's great for the sport, but not exactly what we were looking for from a lifestyle perspective when we switched to long course. Hope that makes sense :)
@@ThatTriathlonLife thanks for that thoughtful reply. Yeah I listened to the podcast and it makes perfect sense. And I appreciate that you are turning up for the T100 events despite the stress. Best of luck in the Canadian TT and rest of your season Paula. 😊
Wow!!! I went to the race:) yellow ducks sweat shirt, I gave you a go Paula as you went by,,,I even ran on the gravel with the women, I wish I did it with the men, but,,,i could feel you were not feeling it, and then to hear you were rethink life choices,,,just know, there are two people inside all of us, one wants one thing, the other wants opposite, now one person is good, the other is bad, you will hear both of them, you just need to know who to listen too, now it's not to easy, or is it,,,like the bad person likes to eat life, cuss, worrie, and really cares about what others think,so if you are doing, feeling this person, just know, you must do the opposite, feel the opposite, and then I believe is when you will experience the power you once had when you started, one could say, you were the Taylor when you started, and really, don't let others get into your head or life, including parents, if anyone 😊ever tries to discourage you in life, just know, most likely they are wishing they are like you:) I want to see Paula happy:) and then see true power of happiness:)
"Eric's Love Letter to San Francisco (and Paula)"
The “I love you” at the end was so sweet ❤
🤷♂️ 🙂 It's hard to watch someone you love have a hard day

The glove conversation, LOL. Eric "I love you"🥰
Perfectly captured the San Fran vibe so much so that I need to get on a plane…

Love it! Good job Paula!
As a side note, would LOVE to hear about that autonomous car on the pod 🤣🤩
"Waymo" WAY CRAZY! I think they only have them in San Francisco and Vegas...
Even though I LOVE the Triathlon Training Bible (LOL) I love the TTL vlogs and the podcast!!!! All the support to Eric and Paula in this crazy journey... you are a breath of fresh air for us the 9 to 5ers.
😂 I think the Training Bible thing got spun out of hand SO much. We just don’t use it these days, but we both have owned copies in our lives :)

Paula and the McDavid shirt 😂
🇨🇦🏒🥅
Great video and I believe a great race. Cycle leg never seemed ideal for you, but both swim and run legs seemed to go well. 6th is pretty good in that field and that course.
Love the mcdavid tee
MCJESUS
You had to rock the Oilers shirt! Beat Florida!
Eric bringing back Sunlight by G Voz for the win!
🤘 G Voz is soooo good
See you at Tremblant this weekend! ALL HAIL QUEEN PAULA
😂
Great video! As always. But, where was the pod this week??? 😊
We just didn’t have time to do it, since Nick and I went to film in Canada immediately after the race. We recorded last night and it’ll go up this Thursday 👌
Would have loved if the last 5 minutes of this was just Oilers talk and hearing Paula get pissed.
😂 maybe we’ll start a Paula rage/hockey pay-per-view sub channel
🔥
😘

Can't put my finger on it. But this was great!!
That’s what I like to hear :)
May I suggest riding park. It would improve skills, and its a change of pace.
More fear? Velo discende or taxi without a driver? :)
😂
😂 a toss up for sure!
