A key point for the mathematically minded:
A natural number line starts from 0.
So when we say “one”, we already have one of something.
“He is four years old” means that 4 years have already passed and now he is working on year five.
But counting beats in music there is no zero.
Beats in a measure are counted like days of a month.
When we count day 1 on the first of a month, the day is just getting started.
In music, we count the beat at its beginning.
When the beat is halfway through, we say “and”.
When a beat finishes, we say the next number to mark the beginning of the next beat.

The name has changed here and there. When I first got it, it was called “Learn Notes!” Now it’s called “Notes” or “Notes!”
I also love “Note Rush” and “NoteWorks” apps
