it's not about data collection. its about the act of advertising in itself. I don't want anyone coming to me asking if i want to buy something. If i need something i will got out and look for it myself! thats why i use adblock. thats why every ad that i run across that makes it through the adblock (including sponsors) gets blacklisted from any purchase decision moving forward. i actually wrote a little browser addon for that purpose. so anyone who tries to ACTIVELY sell me something will actually never sell me anything.
I was hoping for a rant on the appropriately named "CrowdStrike" and their "next generation" workload protection racket. Yesterday they caused kayos in Australian Airports.
This is something I'll be covering in a video soon. I was talking about it with Raphael before we filmed this episode, but I'm still in the process of collecting notes and researching some specific data about the company. There's a lot items to cover about what happened and some things I don't think most people have heard of. If Raphael has the availability in the near future, it'll take us about two hours to cover all the details. It'll be a good episode for anyone in the IT industry too, because this is an example of a worst case scenario for many employees.
I've not heard yet if other variants are going to have the issue. I don't think Mullvad or LibreWolf will suffer this because of the default hardening they use. If you want to turn this off for good in FF, you'll need to go to about:config --> dom.private-attribution.submission.enabled --> and set it to false.
You're right, it's not needed. I've noticed Brave's ad block has done just as well as uBlock. YT ads made it through a couple times in several months, but relaunching it seems to fix the problem.
Thanks for supporting the channel! I like Brave a lot and use it as a daily driver with several other browsers as well. If a website has an issue working on one browser, it's almost always corrected by switching to a different one.
I think Thunderbird is okay for the time being. I haven't heard of any garbage being added into it, but that could change at any time. I don't think there would be a benefit for Mozilla to do this to the app though.
@@KenHarrisio Good to hear. You never know with these corporate types, suddenly they can get the "brilliant idea" of training their AI on all the mails, or something equally sinister.

Don't care, still not using Edge or Chrome.
You dont use more security/privacy optimized versions like librewolf or waterfox? just plain regular firefox?
Opera all day 😂
Chrome has a software " something" named "ADRENAL", inside. get it?
I have been using Firefox since the start.
It is sad to see them bend on destroying their brand.

Indian airports too, they had to issue handwritten boarding passes lol for the first time in history, the company Indigo specially

Very Informative as always thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Do i need uBlock when i use Brave and Portmaster? These are the same filter lists, right? It seems to be redundant.
You're right, it's not needed. I've noticed Brave's ad block has done just as well as uBlock. YT ads made it through a couple times in several months, but relaunching it seems to fix the problem.
Wolf > Fox - why continue to dabble in mediocrity, when it's obvious that it's a corpo takeover at Mozilla moving them in the wrong direction?
Great video with good points! I got curious on your thoughts about Brave browser

FB gets everything no matter what. So does G & Amazon AWS.
Here's a valid question - now that Mozilla is borked and have ruined firefox, how safe will it be to use thunderbird?

How about Brave, even if it’s on chromium base?
Brave is an excellent browser, putting aside the fact it's chromium based. I personally use it everyday and haven't had any issues with it.
It's literally a customer ponzy scheme

Firefox fired Brendan Eich for the sake of Woke politics. If you don't want to be canceled for your political views, ditch Mozilla and use Brave.
