Howard shore used a very similar theme for Aragorn and Arwen on LOTR. Surprised that did not have legal consequences, then again imitation is the highest form of admiration.
Just heard the news about Tanya Roberts and came to listen to this song. Not one of the most popular Bond girls but Tanya did a decent job with what she was given in my opinion. The character of Stacey has some good moments in the film and this piece of music makes me think of her character. Really sad to find out the news of Tanya's passing.

He did only 5 movies, but the time was even longer.......... *** Roger Moore: THE BEST BOND EVER!!! 1977, 1979, 1981, 1983, 1885: THE BEST TIME IN BOND FRANCHISE!!! 1973 was little weak and 1974 was embarrassing(scene with Maud Adams in hotel room). Guy Hamilton was not a good director. He just didn't understand that Roger Moore was not Sean Connery..........

A view to a kill had some great charachters from Roger Moore, the iconic Grace Jones, a superb lead actor in Chris Walken and the hypnotic beauty of Tanya Roberts. In addition the soundtrack is one of the best of the series.

John Barry was a singular monumental composer, even when he composed for shitty films he made some brilliant musical pieces. But for James Bond he just made masterpiece after masterpiece, how the hell they are all so unique, yet have that same through-line of wonder and excitement and adventure. I do hope Bond continues but they really need to figure out a way to get close to evoking this sort of beauty in music the way Barry did, it enhances everything. Orchestral really can't be beat when it comes down to it.

As far as I know, the music came first. John Barry composed the title track (lyrics to his compositions were usually added later).
