Ran a marathon in NB4 in the end of June, and a 1/2 in SB2 2 weeks ago. Both are very kind to your feet. Been able to train as usual the following weeks.
I’m glad you mentioned that this requires a break in period. Everyone keeps saying it’s great out of the box but I just got it and it feels very firm and nothing like the Sky or Edge Paris. I’m hoping that it will soften up after a few runs.
I thought I was crazy when I first got the shoe because everyone else said it felt broken in out of the box. Hopefully after some time it feels better for you.
Thanks for the review. You’re the first review that has also experienced the firmness and break in of this shoe. Everyone else said they were soft out of the box. I’m about 50km into mine and can start to feel them softening up a bit. I do find they are very firm for the first 5km and soften up later in the run. Nimbus 25 were my favourite shoes out of the box, but got too soft after about 300km.
Good review Joshua! Well done for mentioning your size and weight too. I think a comparison between this and the Novablast 4 ( which I use ) would be of benefit for many as they clearly share much of the same design philosophy .
Great review! I just found a pair last week in a size 10... By far one of the best shoes ive purchased and felt great right out of the box. We have a similar build and pace groups, and it is good to know it will get better.
These shoes I love got the last pair available in Australia in my size and they did not disappoint I took 2 minutes off my 10k pb first try and absolutely love the feel of them.
@@joshuaxrunshows in sizing & fitting? i have only fujispeed 2 which is 1 size up of my regular size . my regular slippers, daily shoe size is UK9 , Asics fuji speed 2 size UK10 .
I’ve only owned a ASICS Kayono or nimbus. I currently own the gel nimbus 25 and I love them but I do find that they are super squishy and Soo comfy so I feel very slow. I just purchased the purple and pink superblast 2. I can’t wait to train in them. I’m starting from scratch. Haven’t run in 6 months. I’m lucky I got my size because there’s hardly any available in the limited stockists in Australia.
Annoys me that asics are making them hard to get. Dont know why they wont just make more cause there is plenty of people who want and are willing to buy them
Agreed! I actually think that’s my biggest con with the shoe at the moment. It’s near impossible to get. You would think their supply chain would have done better forecasting to ensure there was more availability at launch.
How good are these for off-road/trail runs? Nothing too technical, but basically dirt and rocks. I'm currently running in the Trabucos (Max 3 and Gel).
Loved the superblast 1 but definitely struggling to fall in love with the superblast 2 after about 50 miles. Running my first marathon in a couple of weeks, had hoped to do the race in the superblast 2 but I'm now toying with the idea of shifting to a softer, carbon-plated shoe. Any suggestions?
I would say it took about 70 miles for me to start really enjoying the 2. And for a softer carbon plated racer, I would suggest the Nike Vaporfly or the new balance sc elite.
I kind of agree with you. It's one of my favorite shoes currently but there are other options on the market that are just as good and may be better suited to each individuals preferences.
First version indeed needs a break in period, about 90km. I like the cushion of the midsole now but they have a narrow toe box (especially at the pinky toe) and a not so breathable upper. Hope SB2 is better in that two particular areas.
I feel the upper fits very similar to the v1. You may be disappointed when you finally run in them but you may like the small changes to the upper. Just need to find a pair to try on.
I want a do all high end trainer I can do it all in. Seems like this is a good fix, but I wonder if it would last as long in life as the normal nova blast 4? Thoughts? Even last 3/4 of the life of the nova blast I thinks it’s a winner.
This will last longer than the Novablast. I have the Superblast 1 at 420 miles and the foam shows very little compression or wear. The rubber is the only thing on that shoe that has really worn down. The 2 shows no midsole breakdown at all after 120 miles and the runner shows minimal wear as well.
Haven’t had the shoe long enough to go through a winter. But I don’t buy specific shoes for winter running. I typically just choose trainers that have decent outsole rubber and have never had an issue.
@@hemalvyas9193 should try the nimbus 25s, on sale for like 30-40 percent off. Really good for walking around, i personally dont like them for running because they feel slow but great for walking

Did my first run on superblast 2 today. It does indeed feel so firm running on it.
Glad to hear I’m not the only one.

@@joshuaxruns That'd be great 😃.

Just picked up a pair today (Australia). Absolutely phenomenal running experience. I started laughing instantly when trying them out, they're so fun.
Great review. You can tell it’s honest because it wasn’t all hearts and flowers.

Congrats on the PB!
I have both versions, 1 and 2, prefer 2 as it sits better on my feet. Great review, amazing shoes 🏃♂️
Completely agree! The 2 fits much better than the 1 did. Makes the overall run experience better.

Best discount hands down!
Really appreciate this review. I want em, but don’t need em. This helped me lol. Hated the original firmness of the OG. Thanks!
Glad this helped and saved you some money 😂 I don’t mind the firmness but definitely know it’s not for everyone

Definitely worth a try!
I think the hype is greater than the shoe. Maybe i just like softer shoes (:

I want a nice max cushion shoe for long runs easy runs about 10+ miles at like 9:00 minute pace. If not this then how about the hurricane 24?
This is a good shoe for long runs but the midsole is on the firmer side.
Great vid! I’m curious what are your other top? Two running shoes?
Thanks! And the other top 2 are the Nike Tempo Next% (RIP 😂) and the new balance rebel v2.
i think im just going to buy version one again, its still available in Mexico
Version 1 is still a great option.
@@joshuaxruns Not seeing any discounts on v1 :( .. both v1 and v2 are $200 in the US
Would you say, that this is just a faster Novablast 4?
Have never ran in the NB4 so I can’t compare.
Is it just me or the superblast gives me foot pain and sometimes ankle pain
When my ankle starts hurting IT HURTS but i have 116 miles in them rn
I had some arch pain on an early run in the shoe and was pretty worried. Luckily that was a one off. Hopefully the shoe gets better for you!
Pls review Novablast 4

Not a bad exchange. Personally, I would pair those 2 shoes for a great 1-2 shoe rotation to cover everything.

Which one is better Kayano 31 or this one .
I’ve never run in the kayano due to it being a stability shoe. I would say that if you need stability, the kayano is probably the better choice.
