What makes him strong against opponents is the fact that he's a southpaw kickboxer with strong boxing skills, often southpaws in KB/MT are mainly known for their strong rear middle kick.
So true. Not to take away anything from Tenshin's hard earned skills, but I feel like the natural Southpaw advantage is never brought enough into discussion.
Nah the stance is only one part of it. What make Tenshin so special is his fighting iq. His brain process information so fast and his pattern regconition is second to none. He is on par with Inoue when it comes to fight iq.
@@high.already Yeah of course this is why southpaws population of champions is completely disproportionate to the general fighter population. Keep being delusional
i find it to be a shame that he abandoned kickboxing for boxing. i understand that the purses in boxing are much higher but tenshin is such a kickboxing talent and he adds so much to the sport
Ye i think the decision to persure boxing over mixed martial arts made more sense for him too considering he already has such good boxing fundamentals!
The detail about throwing the second strike almost at the same time as the first strike. I've actually used that to sneak in the back hand, many times.
What really makes Tenshin dangerous? Now, more than ever, it's his experience... The last piece of the puzzle was experiencing a jab far superior than his. That jab was Floyd's. Anybody he faced in kickboxing essentially looked like they were moving in slow motion and tbh Tenshin wasn't faster than a lot of fighters he faced. He was more polished; more complete in his form, style, and technique as a kickboxer... And other than that exhibition, he's undefeated in MMA, kickboxing, and boxing... I'm glad he went to boxing. At least he doesn't suck at boxing like Michael Jordan sucked at baseball 😂
Tenshins great. I'm not taking away any of his accomplishments but he never fought outside of Japan and some opponents were carefully selected. Even the thai's he fought were guys who had little to no kickboxing experience. Rodtang made his kickboxing debut against Tenshin and did pretty well. We saw what happened when Takeru and Noiri made their ONE debuts so I do question if he'd still be undefeated if he was fighting the likes of Superlek, Panpayak and Rodtang in ONE.
Superlek and Panpayak are a weight class higher. Prajanchai is actually the guy in ONE who's at Tenshin's weightclass. I thought Prajanchai beat DiBella but given how much he struggled against a guy who was crushing cans in US only a few years ago, I find it doubtful he'd challenge Tenshin in kb. Plus Tenshin fought Wanchalong, the Lumpinee champ from a weight below, then Suakim, the Lumpinee champ from weight above, and then Rodtang, who had destroyed Suakim. Sure they had little experience in kickboxing rules, but there is not a single flyweight dutch kickboxer who is better than any of those 3, so it's not as if there were guys experienced in kickboxing rules that Tenshin was missing out on. Challenge for you: Name 5 non-thai flyweight kickboxers that Tenshin should have fought. PS most fighters do bad outside their promotion. Ilias Ennahachi, champ in ONE, boomed in 30 s by journeyman in China. Same with Tawanchai. Bonus: Arian Sadikovic was top 5 in ONE, gave Eersel the champ a lot of trouble. We just saw him get destroyed by a journeyman in Glory last week. The ONE fighters are not head and shoulders above rest of kickboxing world. You'll find out as ONE runs out of money and their guys have to fight in other promotions. PPS You alsocomplained about Tenshin fighting thais new to kickboxing rules. Then why suggest him fight more thais who clearly belong in muay thai rules and not kickboxing? That's a bit hypocritical, no?
Superlek is having trouble with Takeru late in the fight. Tenshin is in no real danger against Takeru. Rodtang knockdown Superlek. Tenshin outland Rodtang like 10 to 1 strikes, he was never in real danger, even when he was tired. So no. Tenshin will do very well in One. In fact , he will be champion because he is very familiar with the thais. Noiri lose to a volume striker. Nothing new there. He lose to Kaito Ono because of that too.

I fucking love tenshin. I like that he tacked on an exotic striking game on top of an incredibly good basic kickboxing game.

I think the reason he left was that there was no one to fight in his weight. He conquered every hill and fought every legend.

HELL YEAH! Tenshin is my favorite fighter, so this is a lovely video to get.
Haha pro striking appreciates you!
Yes! Thank you for this one. A big fan of Tenshin
Another fantastic video, thank you
Loved this breakdown too!! Please, if possible, do one on the Silver Wolf Masato!
Great video as always man. Do you think you can cover Masashi Kumura at some point ?
THEY MASSACRED MY BOY
I remember he fell down in match against Rodtang, but not got count. However he is one of the best for sure.

Tenshin is the best in the 🌎
KO’D by Mayweather in an exhibition….
@@amart93Floyd had 10 pounds on him and it was his first boxing match, what is the correlation
@@Steelserpent82 I also feel like that fight was scripted but idk. Floyd in fact can KO him out cold easily.
@@amart93 being KOed by an GOAT candidate that outweighed him by >10lbs? No shame tbh.

Allow Rodtang elbows and clinch and he destroys Tenshin
I think that's a fair comment haha
Allow wrestling and a mediocre mma fighter would destroy both of them.
Can't complain about rules if you choose to fight in them!
