Masaaki Noiri has won 11 of his last 12 fights, with his last 6 wins all coming by way of knockout. With the news that Masaaki Noiri will enter ONE Championships Featherweight division to face off against Sittichai, the former Glory 70kilogram champion, I thought there no better time to revisit the career of the Japanese murderer and take a closer look at his skill set. - กีฬา
The squared stance with tight high guard and rooted feet is kill or be killed style. The pressure counter punching style is such a classic one across all martial arts Japanese kickboxing like Noiri , Dutch kickboxing like zambidis, muay mat like rodtang, Mexican boxing like Isaac Cruz, or Brazilian mma fighters like Vicente luque. It’s brave and exciting to watch
It's also more technical than most people will give it credit for. They're not just eating shots and exchanging, there's a lot of fast decision making and sharp eyes involved as well as composure in a high pressure scenarios. If fighting is like chess, pressure counter fighting is like speed chess.
@@marshallmaia8130 absolutely! knowing how and when to brace , how to bait the shot then countering the openings while also cutting off the ring at the same time. Mixing up head slot changes. These are all things I learned recently and been trynna implement the aggressive style into my own game. Still lots to improve. I agree in my opinion it’s even harder to have a pressure counter game with fast reactions vs being a countering on the back foot distance management guy
@@ctestare2625 I use this style as well since im 5'5. Odly enough, it feels safer for me, because If im on the outside, often times I get hit at a range where I can't hit back. But If i walk them down, it either forces them to back into the ropes, or they feel pressured to throw something to keep me off, but it's exactly what I want because I'm literally waiting to counter. If they don't throw anything and back themselves into the ropes, then I'm free to combo up because they can't escape.
@@ctestare2625 I work a lot behind an intercepting lead teep and stiff intercepting jab like GGG to deal establish my initial pressure + Low kicks to intercept their forward movement or punches. Basically punish any of their forward movements, and intercept all of their initial attacks.
A long guard to deal hard punches, a high guard + check left hook to deal with combination punches, and dutch block body kicks to follow up with punches and low kicks while they're retracting their kicks.
@@marshallmaia8130 can intercept counters or you can shift through for leads like body jab shift through right hand. If you miss you just closed the distance 😅 I mostly like the long guard to block the lane of the jab so I’m not getting picked off while also cutting the space inch by inch. Or George Foreman cross guard and just walk forward
I can't wait for his one fc debut. More people need to know about him !!
Same! He's the man! Thanks for commenting 😄👊🙏
@prostriking what would u say differentiates these high guard japanese kickboxers from the dutch style kickboxers?
My favorite part about him is his crazy leg kick game, the dude have an entire variety of crazy leg kicks, he goes inside and outside the thigh, he kicks the calf, he knees the thigh, its just crazy, I love it
Never heard of this guy before but you already know I'm going to watch this video 10 times to learn to fight like him, excited for his ONE debut, Sittichai is really talented so it will be an interesting fight
He’s got a crazy style strikes like a snake. Lots of good film on him
Think you'll love doing a short breakdown on both Masashi Kumura and Akihiro Kaneko. One of them has a killer left hook and left kick, whilst the other has solid fundamentals combined with exceptional power.
Thank you for the input! I'll spend a day watching them and see what I can come up with. Appreciate the comment 😄🙏
Wow Masaaki coming to One is super exciting, cant wait to see him fight there
Hopefully he actually gets to fight. One has a lot of fighters signed that are complaining cause they don't get offered any fights. Especially non-Thais
Ye that's my main concern! I feel like ONE shelves fighters for ages and they almost lose their relevance. I hope they don't do this with Noiri
@@ciaosonoAlbertoG no there isn't lol
The defeinition of the so-called "Japanese kickboxing" has changed drastically since somewhere around 2008 or 2009. What used to be something almost identical to muay thai (with the exception of the scoring system and the ram muay music) has become a variation of the 1980s WKA kickboxing. The trend has been influenced by the K-1 rule set (which is in reality Ishii imported from Holland). The Dutch system proved to be a huge success among both the TV viewers and casual fans alike, creating new fan base.
The fucking goat of highlight reels.
I love this guys patient methodical style and the ability to end things in an instant. Can’t wait to see him in ONE
No one’s going to mention that crazy crescent heel kick to the thigh at 5:23? That’s nastyyyyyyy
It’s called a valeri kick a lot of kickboxers that come from karate use them
YT did a good job recommending this video. Nice, clear breakdown. Subscribed!
this kinda guy against a tough thai guy like taewanchai is gonna be a fireworks show
Another J kick video 👀
Will there be videos on Kaneko and Masashi Kumura as well ?
Why not! 😄👊
6:10 where you mention people ‘giving up’ on body targeting is something so common people do with leg kicks too (especially after having the kick blocked a few times). In a world filled with highlight reel ko’s, attritional damage is often forgotten 😢
Attritional damage! I'm stealing that phrase 😄👊
That's a really good point about the leg kicks! Sometimes it's even good to kamikaze a shin block if you know their leg is in a bad way you'll hurt them even more and it's worth messing your own shin up a bit 😂
Fantastic channel!Noiri is my favourite fighter, can you make a video for Kaito Ono and Donovan Wisse?
Masaaki's a beast.
Absolute savage!
hey man, big fan of your channel, I recommend you look into using a basic compressor + an equalizer on your voice before uploading, a little basic processing on your recording will make your voice more tangible and give your channel a more polished feel, thanks for the video btw!
Hi mate, could I do that within the editing software? I'm currently using a rode wireless mic and connecting it to the laptop via USB. I'm using filmora to edit. I've basically done everything on a budget and still a noob when it comes to editing so really appreciate the advice on how to better the channel! Thank you for taking the time to comment 😄🙏
@@prostriking doesn't look like filmora has those mixing parameters, i'd look into an app like audacity or something similar, all you need is a basic equalizer and compressor, it'll make a huge difference.
@@ezraabbey thanks mate ill look into it!
I cant believe some one did a breakdown noiri. Yay.
I remember back in hte day seeing him on K-1 Youth - so hapy to see you pick out full contact karate guys bro!
I didn't realise until recently how many of these world class fighters had come from karate! Thank you for commenting and supporting the channel 😄🙏
Just subscribed to great channel! Would be cool to see breakdown of boxing prospect Israil Madrimov.
this guy was called "the Monster" before even Inoue was called for that
Basically his Kyokushin background coming into play
Really excited to
See how his style does against the thais
Dude really goes after his opponents’ legs.
He broke a tank like Dzhabar Askerov, he is not to be messed with
No hate on Noiri, but Askerov is light years beyond his prime. Dude actually looks like the ghost version of himself compared to how he looked in 2009 against Petrosyan. Still a good name to have on your resume but that was for sure not the best version of Askerov. Finishing Paraschiv in the 1st round was more impressive imo.
His secret is relaxation.
I really hope ONE lets him fight frequently
The Homer Simpson approach to fighting lmao 😂🤌🏻
😁yes
Kyokushin punch in the face are allowed in Self Defense classes.
Warriors from Land of the RiSING Sun.
Masaaki will get smashed at 70kg
He was a bit smaller than Kaito and doesnt look to have put on much size with the move to ONE
I have him losing to all big players at ONE's 70kg such as Allazov, Superbon, Tawanchai, Grigorian and Stitthivhai
Ye I can see where you are coming from but I think he'd match up well with the likes of Grigorian and Ozcan. Grigorian is short and noiri loves a knee up the middle be a banging fight. Do you think they'd be able to bully him?
I think the thais will be where he struggles most. Could have a hard time trying to close the gap against the guys that can kick move and tie up. Thank you for the input on the channel, appreciate it!
@prostriking I think Noiri struggles against people who can physically impose on him like what Pikeur did. He seems to shell up and play a lot more defensive when he feels that he can't tank the shots as easily as usual.
I don't think he could hurt Marat, so I'd see him getting pushed around a lot if Marat fights as aggressively as he did in the last Sitthichai fight.(Which he almost certainly would.)
The Inoue of kickboxing..
Anyone know any good fighters to watch with similar style? I do muay thai so would preffer nak muays or some kickboxers as recommendations. Im 5.8 and 85kg so people my weight are normally about 5 plus inches taller then me.
I'm gonna say mark hunt from k-1, I think he Samoan
Fuck Yes!!
😤😂👊
He lost against Kaito Ono, shootboxing champion. Another fighter to keep your eye out for
Bro do you think it’s good to use Muay Thai for mma I like a stance like superlek or even Giorgio petrosyan where the wight is almost 50/50 even petr yan I like that stance I don’t want to be too bladed and too squared up even Masaaki stance is something I want to emulate I don’t like a stance like MVP or wonder boy because I want to compete in mma and kickboxing
Ye I absolutely think this can work! Jose aldo is a great one to watch! You need good hips and reactions to stuff take downs but you can absolutely make it work!
Squared up stand tall is bad because you can get taken down you usually have to compensate by having good jiu jitsu like olives
I learn mma 8yrs , in my opinion
High guard and tall stance not gd for mma ,but calf kick is super effective, and i don’t think pure Muay Thai suitable too , sambo, kyokushin, sanda etc is better
If he and tenshin is in the same weight, who would win?
Now that'd be a super fight. Tenshin has the experience factor but idk
Great vid you just gotta get the pronunciation right
NOI RI
Haha thanks mate I literally had no idea how to 🙏
