@@canaryinacoalmine7267 he’s light years ahead of the real boogeymen in that industry. In a perfect world, humans wouldn’t be so dependent on animal consumption. But we don’t live in a perfect world. We live in a world with a lot of bad ppl, rich ppl and ppl who are just trying to get their family through day by day. He cares about how animals are treated and he cares about the impact it has on the planet. THAT is where change will start. It won’t start by calling ppl names or fighting. It comes by making new ideas and convincing ppl that they are sustainable and achievable.

@@BigBirdy100 Unfortunately people aren't just going to stop. This farmer is trying a more realistic change, and people are still weary of something new. I understand the frustration when the planet and these animals don't have time. But sometimes compromise is necessary for there to be any change at all.
Thank you for posting this true story about a person who has strong values, is a visionary and posses a strong warm giving heart. I’ve heard it said that history has shown again and again in order to move forward and here the reference is to the survival of our planet ourselves and the quality of life, that it is necessary to stir the pot or else what remains on top is fetid and of no use. I admire the pioneering spirit of this gentleman and thank him for helping me become more aware of people like him, the obstacles their dreams face and their resolve to continue on the road to success. Please do a follow up in six months or a year and let us know how the journey continues.
Kudos to those responsible for the production of this short film. You have captured the very essence of being human. Seemingly, the trajectory of our lives may be be based on our internal and external conflicts, but this man, has encapsulated integrity, courage, and his commitment to his family. I watched it when it was released, and I'm watching it now, wondering if he's found his joy...

Alone but not alone here with an outpouring of respect and affection for such an admirable man.
I am impressed that despite everything, he chose this life for himself.
Originally I was thinking, oh, he's just doing this until his dad dies, and then he's going to Sydney to get his life. Then he mentions how his parents purposely kicked him off the farm and told him not to come back until he was old enough to CHOOSE for himself whether he wanted the life of a rancher. I now hope that, somewhere in the world, the right man sees this documentary, sees into the heart of this incredible man, and chooses to be his partner and live with him on the ranch.
I surely like him I think hes a brilliant man,, And I would like to meet somebody like Him. The world is a big place but he just made it a whole lot smaller. I would love to go visit him for 2 weeks, And see where it goes. I like this guy.

I completely agree with the guys who see the power and grace and true manliness in Jon. His soul commitment to truth in all things, in himself and beyond, is the measure of his honesty about matters within our scope of living. Perhaps God gives certain higher capacities to certain people. Not to make them proud, but to put them into practice with genuine humility in the grand scheme of things. This man radiates that center of being. I thank God, Jon, that you're on this earth and willing to share with us your choices and why/how you make them. Blessings always.

Jon loves his father, his father raised a good man. I hope he has success and not sure why people would show up at an auction and not bid, some people like to see you fail, but Jon looks like he is in for the marathon and is doing what he believes in and what he loves doing.
Because when it comes to money the bidders were having second thoughts about buying that particular breed of bull. It's like with anything new, farmers have to chew on things for awhile before they will buy into it.
Personally, i couldn't see the difference between what a straight Angus and his new cross breed the bulls. They looked like they would yield a superior or at least more saleable product. I was more into dairy than i was into beef, and then again, I'm no expert.

I enjoyed the cinematography and the story of the farmer and his father. My favorite scenes were of the herd of bulls running/frolicking, and the overhead shot of the round of hay being rolled out.

He has legs, he has his health, he has some family and people around him. He has farm and he has his achievements. I have none of these things. Stop giving all your support to glossy documentaries when there are so many people with real problems who are unheard of , not seen, not listened to who don't have a camera team recording their plight.
