Hello, I don't really understand your issue. Perhaps it could be better if you try another computer and see if you're getting the same error. I think your excel could be corrupted or something.
On the relief part of it, I think you should file as per P9 because you can't be given a relief if you didn't earn anything so if the p9 shows 3 months it should reconcile with the return(my thoughts). Thanks
No, you're filing Return for the year not for few months. Just as a by the way, I'm a trained tax professional from KRA School, Kenya School of Revenue Administration.
Hello Wilfred. The annual relief for 2022 is 28,800. You are filing returns for the year not for the months you worked. That's the same reason why whenever you're partially employed, your return will be a negative figure, because the income is spread for the 12months. Assuming you were employed from Jan to May, and now you're filing returns, do you input the period as 01/01/2022-31/05/2022 or 01/01/2022-31/12/2022?
@@cherutojune Yes agreed but...Let's say someone worked for a month. I think he/she will have to basically add 2400 deducted for the month paid and zeros for the 11 months not paid?
Hello. Check your macros settings on excel trust center or upgrade your Microsoft excel version. Enter the return period accurately as well. Alternatively, you can use another computer.
Use the data available on NHIF website on the amount of NHIF deducted based on the salary. Get the summation for the year, that's the sum assured/premium paid.
Thank you James. Yes, I'll do many more videos from next month onwards. Its been a roller coaster for me since I'm held up with crazy timelines in school but I'll definitely share more videos.
Thank you for the informative video. I have followed up as guided, until the entry for Personal Relief. Here a dialogue box pops up with a message that I should enter a positive numeric value less than or equal to KES 13,944. What could be the reason?
It is the housing benefit that you get from your employer. It's either the actual rent paid or 15% of Cash plus non-cash benefits ( basic salary, car allowance, house servants etc). The higher of the two is brought to charge.
