@@Alpha_7227 This was pretty common in the 80's. Most big name albums had accompanying VHS with music videos (though you had to buy the VHS separately).
Oy vey people, do we really need to point out every single person who ever did this to counter a comment for the sake of countering? Obviously the OP meant that this is uncommon, especially these days, and I think we can all agree it is. Sheesh.
Can we just appreciate how much hard work they put into this entire album!? It’s not only a masterpiece but they’re giving us an entire narrative/visual/music video for every song 🤯💙
"appreciate how much hard work they put into this" it's like saying the worst kid on football match "oh, at least you've tried". The album is caresses my ears like no one woman will do
After Ellie sings “let the double L feel like a kiss”, I swear the lush swell of that synths section manages to capture something magical about love. You feel it in your whole body (especially on headphones)
Same, im a Gen X ex-musician, i tuned out of "modern" music quite a while ago. But this band has hit me - squarely in a part of my mind I thought long since shut off.
Best song on the album IMO! The strings are just gorgeous, love how the song swells. Wolf Alice have come up with another master piece with this album, my favourite of 2021thus far!
2:45 the realization that pleasure is found within yourself. My favorite track from the album and this video compliments the dreamy feeling of the song so well.
@CastAirLead the part "I watch you as you're watching me, this love's for free" it's like she's talking about virtual sex haha I didn't realized that the song was about that until I saw the comments... English is not my first Language so I thought feeling myself just meant feeling good about yourself 🤣
LYRICS: He's had so many lovers Don't mean he's been pleasing anyone Doesn't matter about numbers When it's breaking news That it takes two to love I was always told to give Give and make it good Just as misunderstood as him 'Cause that's no way to live And that's no way to play the game of love Now I'm really feeling myself Now I really feel myself (So much better when I, ooh, ooh) (Ooh, ooh) Well, let's explore the space It's like I'm moving in circles And my love doesn't take any shape I watch you as you're watching me This love for free Keep my name on your lips Let the double L feel like a kiss Now I'm really feeling myself You can watch me as I feel myself (So much better when I, ooh, ooh) (Ooh, ooh) (Ooh, ooh) (Ooh, ooh)
Been thinking the same thing. So many bands stop working on their sound when the money starts coming in. Wolf Alice have the ambition to go with the talent. These songs have really been worked on. It was worth it.
I had a buddy's daughter intro me to Wolf Alice in 2017. I am in my early 50s now. these guys write brilliant interesting songs. Great musicians. how do the Englanders do it?
Joint best song in the album with Lipstick On The Glass. Was hoping the video might do the song more justice as there’s an amazing potential with the huge atmospherics in this track not to mention the lyrics. That said you can’t really complain when your favourite band gives you a video for every track on the album.
Honestly I think they purposefully made it simple and striped it down. My interpretation of it (and this may be wrong) is that Ellie is at a party trying to have fun but maybe she doesn’t know anyone there (worst feeling ever) so she might be bummed out. Then she comes across 2 charismatic characters (from mv’s smile and hcimio) who find happiness from being with themselves and enjoying their self worth - simply they are having fun alone. She finds this odd as perhaps she has only ever felt happy in groups, but at the end she realised she can be at peace knowing she has herself to make her happy. Again I could be totally wrong so please give me your opinions. But I honestly think it matches the song well, with the song being so atmospheric I really feel they were focussing more on colour; and aesthetic appeal.
@@Alis.archive Yes… That’s a very fair appraisal of the video and it did strike me in that way as well. I guess the track just blew me away so much that I have had a libraries’ worth of imagery in my head every time I’ve heard it. As I said you can’t complain when you get a video of every track , perhaps it’s just because I’ve made music videos in the past that I can see parallel universe in which this one could have had a pretty epic realisation.
I think its from the double 'L' in 'Ellie" and how it feels to say - not sure if it really means anything but it's a nice image! Hope this makes sense :)
Just can't wait. It's been lush to have all the videos for the album coming out over the past few weeks. It's brightened it up. Thank you and see you in Bristol 2022
You were a great singer on previous albums. This one, you’ve exponentially improved to stratosphere legendary. Don’t let it go to your head. We need great music for the years to come.
My favs in order: 1. Lipstick On The Glass 2. Delicious Things 3. How Can I Make It Ok 4. Smile 5. Feeling Myself 6. Play The Greatest Hits What a great album!
Love Ellies voice and the music. I love the dancing scenes too, it's literally like being at home doing your own thing and losing yourself in the music.
Again my kids can wait for this to be done before I sort their dinner! But they do have tickets to go with me to the Bristol gig next year so I'm not a bad mum! 💙💙💙
The first half of this album is the classic Wolf Alice I fell in love with, but the second half of the album is jaw dropping. I'm loving the atmospherics and sonic swells you guys experimented with on songs like this one and The Beach II. And the message and theme of this album in general hits at the right time for the world. We need this right now.
Part of what makes this song so incredibly special is the anticipation on repeat hearing. It gets to '...let the double L...' and it leaves me totally breathless.
Most recent US tour were some of my favorite nights ever , especially after being cooped up inside after these couple years... Thank you Wolf Alice for a much needed night out, love you !
I'm from Bangladesh 🇧🇩 Whenever I listen any song from "Blue Weekend " I feel like Ellie Rowsell singing only for me I'm into love with Wolf Alice. I wish if I could watch you guys live🙏
Only 1 video to see the complete Blue Weekend film, these visuals puts the album on another level of experience! Very happy how it turned out. Thank u guys 💙
I like WA and their fantastic and beautiful music. I am so happy to have them back. They are In my TOP 1 or 2 of 2021. That's what I feel. Sincerely. I think women continue to lead alternative music in 2020-2021 (Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker and Ellie Rowsell and friends, for example.:)
We're actually getting a music video for every single song on the album. Unreal.
Reminds me way back when, Blondie released Eat to the Beat and you got the accompanying VHS tape
@@Alpha_7227 This was pretty common in the 80's. Most big name albums had accompanying VHS with music videos (though you had to buy the VHS separately).
It’s not unreal, Metallica did it before the release of the Hardwired To Self Destruct.

I can attest to this. Listening on Beats Studio Buds 🤯🤯🤯 this song is an absolute masterpiece! Ellie and the gang blew this out of the universe.
such a smart lyric aswell
Yeah, that moment is something special.
they truly have something special with the way they make the music flow with her lyrics
@@R3D_S3C Try listening to it on a pair of Sennheiser HD800s with a decent DAC/AMP stack!
Honestly haven’t felt so emotionally affected by an entire album in a long time since Blue Weekend, a masterpiece!
I agree. I never thought I would hear a collection of songs this good ever again! If this is not their peak, sign me up for what's to come!

Agreed!
I would say this is #5 best on the album. It's all very good.
tbh any song from the album could be someone's fave and I'd respect that. all good in their own right
I like making music videos in real time holding hands with the music

LYRICS:
He's had so many lovers
Don't mean he's been pleasing anyone
Doesn't matter about numbers
When it's breaking news
That it takes two to love
I was always told to give
Give and make it good Just as misunderstood as him
'Cause that's no way to live
And that's no way to play the game of love
Now I'm really feeling myself
Now I really feel myself
(So much better when I, ooh, ooh)
(Ooh, ooh)
Well, let's explore the space It's like I'm moving in circles
And my love doesn't take any shape I watch you as you're watching me
This love for free
Keep my name on your lips
Let the double L feel like a kiss
Now I'm really feeling myself
You can watch me as I feel myself
(So much better when I, ooh, ooh)
(Ooh, ooh) (Ooh, ooh) (Ooh, ooh)

Probably my favourite track on the album, getting massive attack vibes from it which is never a bad thing.

This song, music and singing is a great work of art.
