To all the people that thumbs down any artist tutorials, I want you to know that you are a asshat!! People work hard on showing others how to make or work with things
This is my first time to see any of your videos and I have to say it’s awesome you have such a calm voice and you are very clear in your steps and advice......thank you as I’m new to making tumblers I’m hoping to get to make my first one this week.....hubby promised to get my rotisserie done😳🤗lol
Question: Can you to a peek-a-boo tumbler with this technique? I have a scenario where I want to lay down a fine glitter initial layer, let it dry then apply some vinyl masking THEN do a mica layer like you are demonstrating. If I were to do so, I have some concerns: 1. How could I find my masking back under the mica? and 2. How long should I leave the mica layer to dry before pulling off the masking layer? Have you done something like this?
Lol ok was just wondering. Thanks my first time working with mica. I have done one with white paint them a jewel green mica. Now I have a decal so I know I need to do a clear over it.
If you don’t mind me asking, what paint do you use as your base? I’ve tried so many and have trouble with them bubbling as soon as they come in contact with epoxy.
Frances Spivey for this tumbler it’s actually just the powder coating that I sanded down for the epoxy to adhere better. On my chameleon cups I will spray paint a black base rustoleum paint
I’m new to making tumblers. Going to be helping my wife make them for her business, and I was pretty disappointed whenever I looked at Woodes and allot of their stuff is out of stock ... bummer
I just got my 1st order in yesterday and am already placing a second order. I hid yesterday's receipt bc I almost spent 200.. 😂 I never spend that much b4 I'm certain of how a brand/product works.. but I have heard nothing but amazing thingd about woodies goodies. Question though, Shouldn't you be always wear a voc Respirator when working with epoxy, even with low voc low to no odor epoxies. I understand you are filming and want to be clearly heard, but maybe mention that proper PPE should be worn? Not trying to be a "karen", I'm just genuinely worried about you and your viewers health. I'm 34, never had any health issues and am now on oxygen 24/7. I didn't know better at first.. the epoxy I was using at the time claimed to be nontoxic.. no voc bc of no odor. Yep, that was false. A respirator is also recommended when working with micas..pigments etc. They are so fine and get into the air.. definitely don't want that inhaled. My experience from when I first started has caused me some anxiety, esp when I c others not protecting themselves. I love epoxy art and tumbler making so much, that I didn't want to stop. So I wear proper ppe and work with proper ventilation, set up,tent, full face organic vapor respirator etc. Did you mention what epoxy you used? I'm going to have to rewatch for expoxy and other items used. Btw, I mean zero disrespect. Your channel is amazing and so are woodies goodies products. Highly recommend.
I always mention that people should use proper ppe when working with epoxy, also to lots of research on it. I don’t think you’re being a Karen lol, but when I do lives I choose not to wear one, that’s just my personal preference. I use ksresin

Deanna Carr only if you want to, I have also just gone straight over stainless steel with success too.

sunnybunny222 you don’t have to unless you do vinyl
@@woodesgoodies2437 Thank you!
Beautiful

God you apply a second coat of just clear epoxy after the mica coat drys?

Question: I want to do something random movement, more than just straight lines, is that possible with micas?
Christi Pinckard anything is possible with mica. It just depends on what you want to do
@@woodesgoodies2437 what I want to do is make it random like with the alcohol inks I got some today and look forward to playing with them tomorrow.
Second question. Since the mica is in the epoxy, so you do another layer or is it complete once what you’ve done in this video is dry?
Frances Spivey It’s all finished, unless of course you want to add vinyl to it.
Any suggestions on the best place to buy mica powder?
Amber Williams woodesgoodies.com
I believe I used to much epoxy is it ok to sand the epoxy and does it mess up the cup? Thank you for any advice
