I’m from Georgia. I have a heavy southern accent and it’s easy to spot a fake one. But at least with his, it was consistent. Southern Accents are some of the toughest for actors to get right.

This is the kind of acting I love and have the most respect for: where they are so immersed in the character, they feel like someone other than the actor! It's amazing when done well!😊
It's an astonishing film. I leaned about "Angelus Silesius" in this film, the Catholic Mystic he quotes. Hannibal Lecter introduced me to Marcus Aurelius, too. And when Kurtz quotes TS Elliot and the Golden Bough in Apocalypse Now. A really great movie will give you research that expands your mind.
I don't understand people who say De Niro is an overrated actor or even a bad actor just because they hate him in real life. Former WWE wrestler Chris Benoit murdered his wife and son, but that doesn't mean I will say he wasn't a good wrestler because of what he did.

He basically has the same beliefs and views of the mainstream liberal media such as CNN and MSNBC. Simply put, one person posting a clip does not make this appreciated or even remembered. Which is sad.
I wondered what was so weird looking about his mouth when I was watching the movie. I thought maybe he was wearing some kind of prosthetic dentures. Then I read that he had paid a dentist to file down his teeth to make him look more menacing for the part. Talk about method acting, lol

It's an homage to the original, meaning the whole film is a stylized exercise by Scorsese. The "goofy" way they're acting is intentional. Scorsese wanted the direction, the score, the acting, to be reminiscent of an old fashioned movie, just like the original. Doesn't make the movie any better or worse, but it might help to know that.
De Niro btw doesn't sound southern Italian. It sounds northern Italian. It's still an Italian surname but it has that cosmopolitan sound to it that southern Italian lacks :)

This was the first collaboration I ever watched between de Niro and Scorsese. It was fab then and still works today.
Jessica Lange is a superb actress. She looks hot in Cape Fear.
