I start with the 3rd option. Then after 4 of them, i work my way to the number 1 option. Lol

The other night I had Don Julio and squirt. It was like wiping my ass with silk.

After trying a few different fancy grapefruit sodas and different recipes to make these, I settled on fresh grapefruit juice and squirt for the bubbles/sweetness.
    2 oz Blanco Tequila
    2 oz Grapefruit Juice
    3/4 oz Lime Juice
Top off with Squirt in a rocks glass that’s rimmed with salt and sugar.
Maybe not the best recipe but it works and it’s ingredients that are always available around me.

Everything fever tree makes is incredible

Same here but i use it now with mezcal! (Ensamble Cenizo and Verde)
It goes so well since the taste of the fever tree is kinda stronger in grapefruit compared too other grapefruit sodas. Matches to the smoke of mezcal, really tasty!

I always felt like fever tree is over the top. Especially their ginger beer. I like dry, but theirs is extra

@Lui_Fern how would you go about improving the drink using grapefruit soda and not using fresh squeezed grapefruit juice? I don't make this enough to make it worth buying an entire grapefruit, but I have Fever Tree grapefruit soda in the small bottles perfect for using 1 bottle per highball.

Honestly, that’s how I usually make mine, but I had an idea while watching this, which is just my standard (1.5-2 oz tequila, .5 lime, top with fever tree), but adding the aperol sounds so good too lol

@@Lui_Fern I lived through my 20s and 30s hating tequila because of an unfortunate incident during my formative teen years. As a man in his 40s I'm finally getting to experience tequila and other Mezcals. When I see your videos I think "I would love to experience having some drinks with this dude". I feel like you would be able to explain the flavor complexities and the different crafting processes and stuff. I'm always a huge fan of learning about how things are made and the different nuances that bring out different flavors. Keep up the good work with your videos, brother.

@@justincowan7486 thank you so much my friend! And funnily enough i had a similar experience. I used to drink shit tequila in college and then it wasn't until a couple of years after i became a bartender that i started to appreciate Tequila & Mezcal. But I'm happy you think I'd be someone fun to drink with 😁

you don't actually need the aperol, it's actually fresher and quite bitter if you express the peel instead
