Something that makes players like lebron, Jordan and kobe so great is the fact that they never underestimate or overlook their opponents no matter who they are. They’re all in the league for a reason and are capable in their own right and studying film and not underestimating players help them be able to play them better because they know their strong suits and how to counter them. If you’re a young player I suggest you know your opponent better than your opponent knows you. If you’re in high school if you have rivals or trying to make a squad or become a starter or become the best in your area or college or whatever I advice for you to study them you can learn from them and you can know how to counter them. When you become a true student of the game you become invincible. You can put 1000 hours in the gym but that means nothing if you don’t know how to utilize those talents you worked so hard on.

In an Iman Shumpert interview, he says Lebron passes by looking at the opponents position and not where his teammates are. He can just tell where his teammates are based on the defense. And that’s how he does a lot of his no look passes. Like the defense wouldn’t be in that position unless u were in this position. That brings a whole new perspective to the game and to do that in real time is unfathomable.

I love when we catch Lebron just being the genius he is, or when players that have played with him describe how intelligent he is on the court.
It just fascinates me how this man’s mind works. Same goes for other high IQ players like Rando or CP3. It’s rare to have an opportunity to really understand just how far ahead his mind thinks in just a few seconds.
