I remember my dad buying me this at Toys R Us, only cuz it was $10 I was able to get RC Pro Am too. both cool games. I loved playing Argentina with this game.
Most people know about hidden super kicks but I have found a SUPER strong character! Team Russia, choose Pyotre! He's slow, looks a bit like Homer Simpson but he has a TON of strength! I played as him on against team England which has a propensity to tackle and all three of the front guys exhausted themselves trying to knock him out! I could even clobber a goalie!
So I checked it out. I didn't get the same results in normal 1P mode, but you were probably playing the VS type mode. It did remind me how fun the game was, though!
If you're playing the campaign with usa choose the player Phil. He is the strongest and has the most defense in the game. I think Tony is 2nd in strength. Phil can pretty much tackle every team up to Argentina. But I want to say it is a hit exchange and both player will fall. @@Markworth

In this video, I cheated by forcing a superkick on select+B, but it's possible to aim kicks. A standing superkick is difficult. You have to walk something like 5 paces from idle, then kick.
Dude every team has a certain number of steps they have to walk in order to normal kick superkicks. Japan only needs to walk 3 steps. And when you've exhausted those 5 per half time you still kick crazy hard like that

Sorry it took 3 years to answer this. There is a couple I remember. Once you ran out of your 5 special shots, (Pele kicks should be normal no special) Ask your teammate to pass you the ball while you are out of the field lines on the bottom of the screen. Make sure is a long pass so you'll be able to pele kick the ball directly to your rival goalie. (Remeber you can redirect your kicks and pele kicks as well)As soon as you hit the ball, you'll hear the whistle indicating the ball is out of bounds. You don't have to be all the way to the bottom as soon as you are out of the play field that should do the trick. By doing this the ball is not in play and the goalie can't stop it he'll just see it pass through. Make sure you are not to far or the ball won't reach the goalie and one of the players on the other team will get the ball for a side throw.

+mugg1991 Nothing that I can remember off the top of my head. There's certainly some funny things you can do with the salmon flop looking move.
