    1. set audacious goals
    2. identify possible problems/barriers
    3. diagnose what causes these problems (keep asking "why don't and can't I do this or that")
    4. design solutions (replay what have gotten you where you are now, and visualise what you need to do in the future to achieve your goal)
    5. Execute - (intrinsic motivation is more important than extrinsic: do it for yourself!)

  • @sindhusekar1
    @sindhusekar1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +315

    Key points from this video:
    1. Set clear and audacious goals.
    2. What problems might we come across along the way?
    3. Diagnose the root causes of the anticipated problems.
    4. Design solutions.
    5. Execute and do the thing.

      @@danielq888 May be you need to look inward to find out why that's so triggering for you? What is it about a stranger acknowledging someone else's accomplishments or praising someone for learning a new skill that generates such discomfort within you? Have you perhaps tried to better yourself in some way and failed time and again? May be you succeeded, but didn't get the recognition you desired? This is your sign to become more self aware in order to be the best possible version of yourself. That way, things like these don't make it to your "trigger radar". 🙂

    I listened to this book recently randomly not because of this video. It was a super long book to listen to. I liked how it talked about using computers to run analysis. Also the personality quizzes can help you figure out your strengths and weaknesses. It had alot to do with decision making but the book is so huge it's almost impossible to practice because its a huge book. Kind of impossible to apply. There were alot of good quotes in the book.

    This is so true. My non negotiables for me are health and fitness, I see them as the foundation of everything in my life, and so, i'm in the gym at 6am for resistance training four days a week so it's done before my working day is started and my cardio is scheduled for as soon as I finish work and my evening isn't allowed to begin until it's done and I haven't missed a workout in 15 years. Same discipline for diet too. I'm 42 and feel great! Happy to discuss mindset, belief structure and strategies!

    Amazing content, can I make a request please? Not sure if you've covered it already in another video but I figured I should ask you because you are a qualified doctor;
    I eat a lot of junk food and unhealthy food because it's convenient and I don't have much time to cook healthy.
    With this in mind, I am conscious about what the inside of my body looks like in terms of cholesterol and blood flow etc.
    My excessive fat and grease consumption must definitely have a negative effect on my arteries etc and I want to revers this effect.
    So basically, could you make a video regarding how I can detox my stomach and body so that I can remove all toxins and bad stuff from my body and then start a new healthy diet and only put good stuff into my body so that I can perform like I should be and not lethargic all the time as I am currently?
    I will be willing to pay for such a program that helps me remove all the grease and bad stuff that is probably floating around my bloodstream.
    Big Thanks Ali.
    Marq.

    Hey, have been loving your videos recently. I'm 16, and have recently been thinking what career path I want to pursue. Everyone tells me I should do whatever I my passion is and whatever I like to do, but to be honest, I don't really have a passion. There's lots of stuff I'm good at, but nothing that I really love. I was wondering if you might have any advice on how I should choose a career. I also think this could be a really good video idea, as I think lots of people struggle with this.

      Hi, I know I'm not Ali but I have a few thoughts on this that helped me in the past and that I think could be useful to you. When choosing a career, I think it's important to think about the living/working conditions that you want. How much money do you want to make? How much time do you want to spend working? Do you want to freely choose your hours? Do you want to work from home? Do you want to be provided with some structure in your day and in your tasks, or do you prefer a more flexible, self-determined working style? Basically, this is about getting clear on what you want from a job. A lot of the time, people will tell us to pick whatever we like best but if that was all there is to a career, we could simply spend all of our day on hobbies. So I've found it useful to think about what I want in my adult life and how a career can fit into that. Of course, don't completely neglect passion but if you're not clear on that, it could help to start narrowing down your options by thinking about more practical aspects.
      That said, plans change and just because you choose one career over another doesn't mean that you will be stuck in that path forever. We can always make a change and start something new. So really, part of figuring out what you want to work as is starting with something that seems reasonable and then taking the experience to inform how you move forward or whether to start something different. It's a process and most people haven't figured it out by the time they leave high school - and that's fine.

    Great vid. Curious; do you usually speak that fast or speed up in your editor? Also, how are you liking the Hoka One sneakers? (I’m the one that recommended them.)

    If Ali writes the book. I will be one who first buy his book. I don't even consider whether it's good or bad book.

    I agree that it's important to know your own weaknesses, so you can find the barriers that are in the way of your goal. Great video as usual, Ali! 😃

    Really useful video. I usually set small goals to reach bigger ones.. I think showing up is the most important step...
