I always thought you used like vintage Zildjians and TAMA drums. But now that I know what you have I really see that it's the player and not the instrument
GuitarRazze I tell you boy, you don't need an expensive drumset to start neither you need an expensive one to sound good. My first and my actual drumset is a tornado mapex that I bought used and with a bit of tunning and new heads, the drumset sounds awesome. Also as said in the video, you don't need a lot of different cymbals with different sounds, you just need the ones you need to play. I have a 20 inch Dx Stagg ride, 16 inch zaion crash and 14 inch meinl bcs hats.
GuitarRazze just get a cheap good stable drum set and slowly upgrade your heads,cymbals, and gear as you get better or if something breaks about playing for a year have a nice drum set and been playing good so if you do follow my tips
I have a hardly used pdp platinum for sale. That line was discontinued and only made a short time but it was the top line of pdp. Cost me 1,500 for a 22 kick, and 10 12, 14 toms. I'm selling it for half what I paid 750 and throwing in a Yamaha Steve Jordan snare. They have about maybe 12 hours of playing in them on,y and sound great,
Spoodermen Produktionz I just got a kit for 300 used at a pawnshop. Sounds great! Then I bought used cymbals off guitar center for real cheap and it still sounds great! So no you don't need expensive gear.

In like 1985 or 86 a dude I knew said I've got cymbals for sale. I'm like cool dude what kind, can you bring them by? He told me he had to many to drag out. I was like koo I'll come look. I bought like 20 cymbals and he threw in to awesome Remo bass pedals. This shit was the bomb I was nervous for about 2 weeks and played the shit out of them. All Zildjian k and they sounded great but I stayed with the Paiste ride. After awhile it hit me it was all stolen. Live and learn, but awesome !!
i have old pearls and they sound awesome! and the funny thing is they are so old that they are just pearls and serialnumber.. :D the snare is Pearls Steel world series but its old too.. :D and i just a while ago got my first NEW set of cymbals.. Paiste Ps7 Heavy set 14" HH 16" CH 18"CH and 20" Ride.. They sound so awesome and they are so cheap!! :D and yes Wuhan China kicks ass.. got one! :D
Just an idea: You are running all the mics into the Tascam, can you line out of the Tascam into the Behringer inputs, and then you can actually hear a MIX of song and live drums?

How do you get what you're listening to audible in the video and synced up with what you're playing on drums? Do you add that in after you've already recorded the video, or is it recording it simultaneously with your drums, but in a separate track so you can adjust levels?

That's a piccolo snare. You'll find it in old Korn and slipknot songs. It wasn't a wise choice for puppets but my other heads were broke at the time.

Used any stand I could find some old flimsy stand I would weight it down with 2 liter bottles with sand and dirt and hang them as low as I could!! lol

When you upgrade your audio equipment, buy a low mic stand, and place your mic inside the bassdrum! It will sound much more full and clicky
