    We have so much top soil here that putting fine gravel over dirt is always a disaster. New drives have to be cut about 12" deep,dirt hauled off, filled with big rock and then covered with fines. Things are much cheaper and simpler down there! I just hope all your viewers don't think this is ok method for all areas. The new skid loader is the Bomb! Nice job on ditch cut also,Chris!

    He's one of the best I've ever seen. I also need a 4 in 1 bucket...but before I get that I gotta actually buy a machine. I live vicariously through Chris' jobs and skillsets.

    You are a master with that 4 in 1 bucket. I have one too and they are trickier to use than it looks. That must have been an expensive job if you had to bring 3 pieces of equipment to the site. I probably would have just used the skid. But if they are willing to pay then I'm sure the other pieces improved the quality of the job.

    Chris, have you seen or used the implement that attaches to an excavator arm which is designed for grading out perfectly contured land swales ? I watched one being used and was really impressed as to how easy it was for the operator to grade a continuously even swale on the side of a road. It really appeared to be worth the investment to purchase the tool. As always that was a nice looking job you did on this one.

    So, that rock looks like it is bonded with something (and wet). It smooths out nicely. I just put down 10yds of pea gravel, and rolled it out. Do I need to put something on it to keep it in place? Your surface almost looks like concrete. Tnx for video, as it helps this old man learn new skills at 72.

    Speeds the job up no end and keeps it nice and uniform.

    • @Atv821
      @Atv821 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Trapezoid buckets are more for mass trenching, with a normal sloping or tilting bucket and a little skill, you can work the ditch from either straight on or from the side and have the abilty to do the least amound of damage and be able to blend the ditch into the environment better, like were they blended the ditch, road, and headwall together seamlessly.

      That 360 degree bucket on the yanmar works wonders - or is it the operator....?

    • @brownwarrior6867
      @brownwarrior6867 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Atv821 You can do all that with a 360 attachment on a Trapezoidal just saves time and results in a uniform job on the longer runs.
      Not sure if Chris does much ditching but if he does then that’s certainly something he should consider (if he hasn’t already)👍🏼
