I am only a 6’ tall lady, and I sing and my voice can reach very low tones down to a low Baritone. I always thought part of it was that I have such a large rib cage and lung capacity, I can sometimes hear and feel the deep reverberations in my chest and it even blows ME away lol. Sometimes it’s hard being different but it’s better than all being the same!❤
It actually has to do with vocal cord size (length and mass). The shorter and/or smaller they are, the higher pitched the voice is, which is why young children's voices are higher. The opposite is true with lower voices. This is why when you have a sore throat your voice gets deeper, because your vocal cords swell from inflammation and trauma from coughing. It is incredible to me that the world we all live in looks completely and utterly different to both of these women. Whereas most of us see a world of people roughly our size walking around, Jyoti lives in a world of giants, and people only look up to Rumeysa, never down at her. Humanity is amazing.
