As a family who hunt, we share your love of deer meat. The taste is soooo good. My sons preferred deer meat over beef when they were younger and they still do to this day. There is just something special about hunting together, harvesting God's gift, processing the meat and eating it as a family. There is nothing better. Keep sharing your favorite venison recipes and good luck this coming deer season!
After wanting to try this recipe for a little while, I finally got a chance to make it today and it is one of the best recipes that I have ever tried with backstrap! I'm a Pennsylvania boy and we love our deer meat up here and I have had the pleasure to try venison many different ways, but you sir have found a winner! I love the videos and recipes that you post and can't wait to see what y'all have coming next! Thank you!!
Rob, Sarah, you guys are like a fine wine. You just keep on getting better as time goes by! Thanks for the awesome videos. My world has been expanded because of what the two of you do!
Thanks for sharing this recipe. Tried it today. I invited my hunting buddy's family over for dinner... it was a total success!!! Everybody loved it. I enjoy watching your videos. Great family!
I've seen 99% of your recipes and I think this looks the best. Unfortunately we don't have deer hunting in England but it's available so this one I'm gonna try.
I made this recipe sat night. I was out of cube so i trimmed up some round steak and tenderized it with the jaccard. It was awesome!!!!! Thanks for the recipe guys.
Rob and Sara just thought I let you know how much I really appreciate your videos and the ideas on preparing meals out of wild game I love them thanks a lot for sharing and be safe.
Re watching old videos, amazing to see the things you were wishing for and praying are the things your living out today. healthy kids, helping others, and a bigger kitchen! haha TGBTG!!!
This was an awesome meal Rob, thank you! We used spicy Italian sausage made from my son's first deer he got on an FWC youth hunt at Halpata preserve in Marion county. Then we used backstrap and tenderloin from his first Buck he just got on another youth hunt at the Green Swamp in Polk county. We're loving the deer meat and can't wait until next season to get some more. Keep up the good videos!
Love the raw potatoes. I remember digging up potatoes in our garden bushing off the dirt and eating them. Nothing better. Maybe home grown tomatoes, but they are still ranked pretty high. Love the authenticity of your videos!
Man!!! i just wanted to say thanks for this recipe. i tried it yesterday man it was delicious. the whole family loved it!!!! used the backstrap from the harvest. this is a excellent recipe!! THANK You!!
We eat like Kings at hunt camp here in West Georgia, and we are always looking for different ways to cook our Deer Meat. I cant wait to cook this one at camp and wow the boys. Thank you for sharing and please keep em coming !

Rob I tried this from watching a couple months ago I used green Chiles instead of jalapeños and I forgot to add the sausage and it didn't turn out like yours did but it was still pretty dang good I enjoy watching the dmfd shows and learning new dishes that you have made although I live in Wyoming so sea food is limited but every chance I get to buy some I do and I love hunting and fishing I hunt every chance I get I love wild game.

ya buddy!!! sitting here getting ready for church and then coming home to make some insane Tree Duck roll ups... wait till you see this dish!!! #wildGame #OrganicB4OrganicWasCool thanks a ton for the comment and please stay in touch!!!
I make a sauce from the ingredients in my fridge for goose and venison which I like a lot. I mix BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, teriyaki sauce, ketchup, soy sauce, a little bit of brown sugar, and add my favorite meat seasoning in it. I find it really good and tangy with a salty which I like. im not sure if you would like it but it seems that everyone who tries it likes it a lot. I usually use it as a marinade but i have also liked it as a filling sauce too. If you ever make it let me know what you think about it. but anyways I love your videos and have tried pretty much every recipe you have made and the one I found to like the best was the "walnut, dried cranberry, chive cream cheese stuffed duck breast wrapped in bacon". it was seriously the most delicious thing I have ever made with duck breasts. I love your channel. every time you post a new recipe I always run to the store and gather all the ingredients to make it because they always are delicious.
I had to get my fiance to try deer meat and this is what I tried with her. I had deer jerky but nothing else. This is a great recipe, delicious! Congrats on the your little baby girl!
Hey Rob and Sarah, We made a feast this weekend at work and made these with both Venison and Goose breasts. Outstanding is all I can say. Thanks for sharing and doing all you do! Keep all the great videos coming. Looking forward to tasty Tuesday tonight.
I will be taking out some back strap this weekend and making this. I dont like jalipenos so i will use chives and the sausage with be wild pork sausage that i make.i do all my own processing and every body loves my deer meat. Cant wait to try this. Thanks you just inspired me to get off my ass and do some cooking.
I have been making this recipe for years. The cuber is a nice touch but I always do this recipe by cutting 1/4 inch thick slices (usually from the backstrap just because its the perfect size for making the rolls), then I take a butcher hammer and hammer the backstrap thin. As lean as dear meat is, you can get it very thin. I grill the rolls and when the bacon is done to your liking, the little morsels will be just right. I have never made the sausage and cream cheese and jalapeño mixed together (I always just add each ingredient to the flatten meat.) but its a great idea which I will do from now on.
Ha Ha! My favorite part was the first close up of the first meat rolls... the close up revealed many Silver Stag slice marks where the organic meat from the field made it to its destiny, luscious healthy nutrition for our bodies! That's a SLICE of Heaven on earth!
Hi I'm Shaunelle,(the picture is my husband, Ross).I'm a die hard Liberal, but I'm sure we would love each other if we met. My relationship is one of those once in a lifetime, lightning strikes, types that you and Sarah seem to share. I have subscribed to all your sights. You have turned me on to a whole new way of cooking and an ideal way of living! I never thought I'd never get close enough to an alligater outside of a zoo. I can't hunt, I'm disabled, but if I did, they're is NO ONE I'd trust more than you, the conservative, LOL.. I hunt vicariously through and Sarah. God Bless! I've noticed you using olive oil lately, PLEASE don't give up on butter, it's the love of my life!
Hi there Shaunelle! I'm very honored that you enjoy my page and like our videos! I used to eat deer all the time when my dad would hunt. and it's one of the things I'm not allergic to. I miss it. Haven't had deer since I was little.
I have a variation that I have always used. About 4 inch thinly sliced venison (an inch bacon width) wide, sliced jalapenos or bell pepper (depending on heat taste) red or sweet onion, bar style cream cheese, and bacon! I like the thick cut apple wood smoked also! set out the cream cheese to soften about 4 hours, slice the bell peppers and onions to about 1 inch wide, put some cream cheese in the bell pepper, then wrap the bell pepper and onion in the venison, then wrap that with enough bacon to get all the way around the roll. put two toothpicks' in to hold everything together. Then grill on a hot grill using real coals(gas will work but coals are best) I imagine you could pan fry like you did above. I am definitely going to try yours as it looks awesome also!
LOL I TOO ENJOY RAW TATERS AS WE CALL THEM HERE IN VIRGINIA LOL LOVE THE VIDEOS IM ALSO CONVINCED YOU GUYS NEED YOUR OWN TV SHOW PLEASE THINK ABOUT IT,
Your recipe looks really delicious 😋 I'm just not a big fan of cream cheese, but I'm definitely going to give it a try 😋 thanks for sharing it with everyone 😊
I just did bacon rapped deer back strap and smothered it in BBQ sauce on the grill I must say that was the best taste I have ever tasted for a back strap
I ordered some Everglades just now, I usually use Cavender's Greek seasoning, made here locally, or Tony Cacheries, I fried some Ozark white tail backstraps tonight, and oh were they good! Can't wait to try the Everglades! :-)
I’m Australian and I’ve never heard an American just break into an Aussie accent in the middle of conversation. 3:06 That was really good dude! Great video with good camera work too.
I was hoping to see you take a crack at that raw potato and watch your explanation of its texture and flavor using all of your wonderful hand gestures. Great videos guys!
Hey what's up man I live here in Miami Florida and I love your videos I even bought some Everglades for my mom to cook with and we love it thanks for suggest it and thank you for making your life and tips a part of ours.
Wow its interesting that you use deer, i've been doing the same recipe for years with chicken, using roasted peppers instead of jalapenos. Next time you cook this meal, try cream cheese with chives! I butcher deer during hunting season to make extra money and hunt as well, so I will definitely give this a try! Great video!
My right eyebrow went way up seeing the "stuffed with cream cheese" part of the tittle, lol! Those look delicious, now if I can only get my hands on some deer meat.
Raw potatoes seriously, Dude who the f#$k does that? Anyway having said that the recipe for the deer meat and bacon was right on point, 5 star, thumbs up
Wow, did that look great. As far as the the posters comment below; They must of never tasted deer sausage cause its made with pork and is fantastic. Thanks for the neat video. Thumbs up.
hey thanks a lot Larry!!! I can't tell you how good that came out!!! it's important not to over cook it! you can do it on the grill and baste is with your favorite bar b q sauce and it will blow your mind! I hope you try it some time, when you do, let us know how it turned out!!!!
Larry342516 oh we have!!! I just got done bagging up a bunch of deer meat and Sarah cleaned my mess... now we're about to relax on the couch!!! Merry Christmas!!!
I used to eat raw potatoes when I was growing up, I loved the crunch and the juice from them. That was about 22 years ago. However a few months ago I tried one for the first time in a long time and they were pretty inedible to eat. They taste like s**t. First time I've ever seen anyone eat them as part of a meal though. It's kinda weird but kinda cool at the same time. And that deer meat looked amazing when you sliced into it. Perfectly cooked. :)
Ok for the most part I'd say success. I didn't quite follow the recipe and used pork sausage instead of Italian sausage. I didn't have exactly the right seasonings either but I think it still worked out well. My difficulty was to stuff and wrap it up tight. Most of the creamy yummy filling came out duting cooking but still the dish was delicious. Thanks. Michigan Bryan out
I watch alot of cooking shows. Yours is so much fun, so Americana and I love that you pray for your food, and are a family of faith.
