Marvel has me so over the barrel at this point- just having their way with me. I pretty much have to buy anything old-school Conan and they know it. Then come November another omnibus...

Thanks for this wonderful overview Omar. I am sorely tempted to get the Conan Marvel Years Omnis as I own a lot of his original comics. That artwork is beautiful. Please don't ever apologise for being in raptures over this book. It just shows how much you love and appreciate the beauty of the work inside, which makes it easier for me to equally enjoy it. That book is almost, I said almost, as nice eye candy as Kate Upton in a bikini. By Crom, John Buscema is a god and should be remembered as one of the greatest artists ever. Thanks for sharing this book with us, my friend. #OmarRules
HAHAHA Buscema certainly is one of the greatest. Sal gets the short end of the stick, But I always loved John more.

They really need to get on releasing Red Nails and a stand alone trade/hardcover. As much as I'd love to get the omnis there's just no way I could ever store them. I just want the highlights! :)

@@NearMintCondition Just received the DD: Born Again Artisan's Edition from IDW. I think it would be nice to see some Conan stories done in this way, too. That gorgeous BWS and Buscema art!
Great video, Omar do you know if marvel has any plans of reprinting those old third eye blacklight posters from the 70’s?
I'm thinkiing with the amount of Conan content, they have so much more content for so many more art books.
When I was single I fell on hard times. I moved in with my sister for a bit. She got upset with me and asked me to leave. She didn’t give me time to get my collection from her house. She threw all my comics away. Conan and Savage Sword of Conan was among my collection. Seeing this artwork brings back memories. I have to get this book.

Have you had a chance to read savage sword of Conan. I just started Reading Conan the barbarian just to see if I wanted to continue to collect the Omnis Man I am hooked I did not expect it to be such a good run I am picking up both runs as far as they Continue to come out. I love getting your opinion on Omnis that’s how I started reading Uncanny X-men 1,2and3 and that’s been a fun ride also. Keep up the hard work You really help me to decide which ones to buy

Great video, looks a fascinating volume. Noticed there is an art of the Savage Sword of Conan coming out soonish, though weirdly that is a paperback according to the Amazon listing. I must admit, I would love to see the pages in their raw stripped of all the blurb (such as the Art of Vampirella, Complete Covers of Fables etc) as well as the sketches and thumbnails and background notes and I really hope that is the case with the Savage sword one
Looks to be the size of the Marvel Art of Skottie Young. Pretty cool.
I think most of the art of books are the same size.
Cool book. I don’t generally go in for “art books” but the raw inks/pencils stuff is cool. Might have to pick this up.

@@NearMintCondition I saw that on amazon but it said paperback not hardcover which worries me. I prefer the savage sword conan much more because of the black and grey art. Good stuff.

Got this book a month ago, and when I first cracked it open, I was disappointed. Then, just recently I really sat down with it again and was glad I purchased it. A nice addition to any Conan library. 👍🏾

It's me again! I'm probably annoying you with all my questions 😅 sooooo this coupled with the epic collection, what do you think? I want to start collecting this run of Conan. But those Omnies are so expensive and pretty hard to find. I live in South Africa so when I do find them on Amazon or anywhere else they charge double the price for shipping so I'm basically buying the book twice due to the shipping. I found out a local store has this artbook... from what I've gathered the epic collections have some scripts that I'd be very interested in looking at and some art stuff while this is more of the art stuff. The only thing missing is the Roy Thomas introductions. In your opinion are those introductions alone worth it? I think if I couple this with the epic collection it would be a good and cheaper substitute for the Omnies just excluding the intros. You are the expert, I'll trust your input 😊
Okay so I will say The Epics are selling great for Marvel. The Omnis will come back into print. But damn the epics when they sell out they take a long time to come back to print. Get this and the Epics and you'll be good.
Thanks man. I appreciate your response. I really like your Conan overviews. I can't find any but I'm keen to see you go over the Dark Horse run. I have the paperback omnies from that and the big Conan Reader one. Would be cool to hear your thoughts on those. I saw the local site that has this art book has a Art of Savage Sword of Conan up for pre-order. Did you know of that? It looks cool too.
This was actually on my radar. Thanks for reviewing it. I ended up not buying it because IMO this should have been printed on a much much bigger format and entirely in black and white. But that's just me.
I think that we'll have more. They really could have gone the monster size book size for the book.
I have not yet purchased this one as i was hoping for a review from somewhere, and Voila you obliged.
Thanks again and will proceed to buy this one even though i am not 100% convinced by it's contents which i think Marvel could have done a far better job of it.
I would have loved to hear from words from the legends like Buscema on his journey with Conan which i am sure some sort of an old Interview exists somewhere or a foreword from the Current Conan artist like Mehmud Asrar along with a throwback on that journey to 2019.
It's disappointing that Marvel couldn't produce something which a genuine Fan of conan would really cherish which i think they could have done easily even without a Premium pricing.Maybe Yes some sort of a Collector's Edition Oh Well!!!
But me being a sucker of Classic Conan will still buy it for that part of History.
Hi,I know you have every Conan.i have dark horse Conan omnibus 1-7.i missed out on collasal King Conan.so hopefully dark horse will release an omnibus of those.some of the the new marvel Conan are the same content as Conan omnibus 1-7. What marvel Conan do I need,I'm unsure as its a little confusing.i do want to buy the same ones.also do any of the marvel collections have the full King Conan?thank you
Right now the Omnibuses are coming out for Savage Sword of Conan and Conan the Marvel years from Marvel. The Dark Horse books were reprinted as Epics.
I will never understand the Conan hype... :/

Jeez! Can you stop showing me all these books? I’m only days away from the poorhouse. I was so totally not interested in this book, but decided to watch the video for a couple of seconds anyway. Now I just HAVE to have it. It’s absolutely gorgeous!
But why did you say there can’t be Red Sonja in Omnis? Is that a copyright thing?
LOL I certainly can try. So the issue with Red Sonja is that Dynamite now owns the rights to her. However, Marvel can use her in reprints as long as it's not on her own book.
Oh ok, too bad. But Marvel also lost Star Wars copyrights at one time. So we can always hope.
