you know, your sense of humor, right on par with mine... I love it. And for those that dont like it, tough shit. I love when someone is blunt and honest, no beating around the bush. Just say it.
You are very talented and I really like your style. I can't paint at all but am trying to learn. You are very inspiring. Thank you for sharing your talent.
Great video! I’ve painted my models with brushes all my life, I am so intimidated trying my airbrush (maybe it’s like teaching an old dog a new trick). I know I need to take the next step.
Don’t be, it’s a daunting task at first and does take some learning but honestly is easier than you imagine, and once you get over the initial teething problems it’s a breeze and super simple to achieve what would take 3hrs with a brush in less than 30 mins.
@1:41 OR you could have stippled it on with a large make-up brush, or go all fancy and use an Artist Opus dry-brush. Not only do you get equal to or greater smoothness (1 coat no less), but you can do it in a fraction of the time without having to deal with the loading and cleaning the air-brush.
@@Groundeffected This was my first video of yours I watched, and have since marvelled at your super sonic God-like speed and ability to clean out your air-brush, as well as realized I have been over-complicating my own air-brush cleaning process... by a lot! 😆
The effort that goes into using a paint brush instead of a airbrush shows and now I can better understand how an airbrush will cost money upfront but it will save you money in the long run on time especially if you doing commissions. Thank you for the video.
Yea it’s virtually 3 times the amount of work with a brush alone but it has its merits. I kinda prefer the brush look but also time is a huge thing to take into consideration when commission painting
Hello Thanks for your fine videos Even being 73 years old they are a pleasure to see and to follow!! I started figurepainting 20 years ago then finished and started about a year ago and entered the new wirkd of 3D figures and printing Having my age i think i woud not start printing my figures by myself So my most important question Is it possible to get some of the bigger figures already printed and sent to me to Vienna in Austria whete i live?? And also important what are the costs for a unpainted and even uncleaned and unprepared figure?? I would be very delighted to hear from you a s a p Thanks in advance Dr Ploderer

Included shipping and handling ! I hope i do not bother you too much with my question Best thanks in advance snd great compliments for your whole work It is inspiring and phantastic Dr Ploderer Vienna Austria
I watched a Sideshow video of their painting process, they just do a base layer then do primary color washes for tint & textures, i guess that would be a faster way for mass production, but your way definitely looks more lively!
This would be my slow way of painting. I defo use an airbrush for this normally. And it takes quick a full face skin in like 10/15 mins. I’m not sure why they do it that way it seems like a lot of extra work to me but this video was to show people who always saying they can’t do it with out an airbrush I wanted to show you can
I think im going to do the opposite and use an airbrush. Seriously awesome video! I was confused at first when you were painting the face in different blotches and you're right it didn't make sense at first. But the way everything came together. *(italian chefs kiss)* What kind of airbrush do you use when you use one? also how long did this whole process take?
I use an iwata eclipse and it took around 2 hours to paint this portrait with a brush including drying time (I use a hairdryer to speed things up a bit)
Absolutely love your channel! Going through every single video in record time. Curious if you've ever painted a vengeance studios model? They are killing it right now and I'd love to see your skills tackle one
@@Groundeffected I have a sleeve and then some from him great artist great guy I actually need to make another appointment with him to finish one we started awhile back
I’d do a similar thing but woke more on the lighter spectrum and use blues in the place of the purple similar kind of tone though cos their skin should look dead and cold not warm
Another awesome video and just think for the cost of a cup of coffee you can spend a month in discord as a patreon learning from the group and groundeffected himself
Thanks. But that would be a two hour long video. And I would hate to think how long it would take to voice over that kind of length video. As it is it takes up to a day to edit these ones
I don't think air brush is cheating. Its a cost investment and it takes practice and skill to use and maintain. That being said I don't own one yet so I'm just jealous... lol
You know, you should get an airbrush - it'd be much quicker! The anti-airbrush crowd often have a laundry list of assumptions about what having an airbrush will entail - typically re-mortgaging the house, installing industrial grade sound proofing and particle filtration - but when pressed, it often comes down to them simply not want one and being annoyed that other people do. My hobby space is roughly 2'x18". My whole set-up cost less than £120. The compressor is a basic tankless AS18, when in use it sits on top of a pillow, with another one on top - not recommended for long sessions, but it reduces the dB to nothing more than a slight burbling and is inaudible outside the room. I wear a simple dust mask and put down a dust sheet on my work surface. When finished, I pack everything away, give the surrounding area a light dust and the compressor lives on top of a book shelf. Didn't cost a lot, doesn't take up a lot of room, make a lot or noise or mess.
My airbrush stays out it’s a tool I use every day in every painting I do. Some people are purists too and really don’t believe it’s “proper” or “right” to bless you use a brush only. It’s the same in all art fields. Now that art is going digital some people still think paper or canvas is the only real art and digital is cheating. Until they try it for them selves and find it’s a whole new skill to learn. There’s no cheating about it.
The Vallejo Fairy flesh Set is really expensive, $26. The product is 60 dollars including shipping and customs and it's a very high price for me. There is no seller in my country, I wonder if there is a place that sells singles or if anyone would like to gift it to me, I would be happy :)

genial gracias por compartir .....cual es la referencia de las pinturas?
es loki perobi no usó ninguna referencia, solo lo pinté de mi cabeza porque no trato de que no sea realista, prefiero una apariencia gráfica

I don't think people ask because airbrush is cheating, it's more like we don't have room, supplies, or money for more stuff.
