This is a Great video
I love the fact that you started off using just the Vallejo basic skin tone as your base coat because every other video that I see on TH-cam always has someone mixing 3 or 4 different paints together just to create 1 base skin tone lol
your approach just seems a lot easier and I definitely have to try it whenever I get the chance
You're the best ! Thank you!
I'm so scared to paint things but watching your videos really help motivate me!
LOL, been painting for years and I felt this. Get that 1st layer on and then just keep going. The good news its paint, you can always paint over it, the even better news if its a 3D print, you can print another one and start all over. :)
I had this problem as well. Took me a while to actually get paint down on one of my printed models. I made some models for gifts this year and that forced me to do it. Once you start getting paint down it becomes a lot easier to put down more! Realizing I can always just print a new part really helps as well.
You have no idea how long I’ve waited or how hard I’ve looked for this video. Thank you.
I am painting an anime figure, and gonna use your techniques, wish me.luck!
Great information - Keep it up - Gives a lot of people inspiration to get started !
GSI airbrushes are awesome I own several of those and two Iwata Microns, an Iwata Takumi, and my next favorite is my trigger type Grex. I also have a H&S which I only use for hyper realistic paintings. But the GSI out of the box are freaking amazing and the price point of around $99 last forever and spray amazing every time for consistency. I also found that Createx Colors work amazingly well with resin printed models (airbrush paint).
Wow, just adding the orange and red to put in the tones did so much more than I thought it would.
Great video.
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome stuff bro
Cool tutorial. 👍
Love ur videos so much info u give out ill be start printing soon n this helps so much😊
Wohooo a video tutorial love your work keep it up
Thank you for the very educational video. I will refer to this for my 3d prints

So many great tips in this video ! Love seeing other peoples processes , ty for sharing with us !
kller work brotha, Dont forget yall different color washes will help give different hues like blue for example gives some great cooler depth to some skin tones. keep it up yall
Can't argue with those results. Looks fantastic
Thanks for the great videos!
Thank you David! 😊

Great video as always. Keep up the good work dude. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Thanks, will do!
Awesome, i Has to try this. The shading will be hard 🙈
Nice Henry great vid
Thanks!
Great video!!! I have to be honest man… I have been playing it safe… just doing my transformers and iceman.. I think I have a fear of flesh!!! Lmao… there is a heman staring me down and I just may tackle him after this video. Great advice as always dude. Appreciate you!!
Greetings from Bangkok Sir, Superb Video helps me a lot for my Scultures more confidence now in using 1 flesh tone the Vallejo. Your videos are a great tutorial for a beginner like me love your work & thank you very much for your time.🙏
Great tutorial on flesh tones, your channel has helped me immensely.
I love bing watching all your vids 😂
Awesome! Thank you!
How did you do the pupils and the iris ? What colors . Please do a video on eyes. I'm a perfectionist and do navy jets and want to get into statues. Thanks in advanced
Great advice and video! Any advice for elven skin or alabaster skin? Thanks!
Use the same method with any skin type.
Can you please make a video for painting eyes
Awesome video!! My question is, when you use mecha pink .. is it being used to highlight and do the shadows ? Or more so just the shadows ?
Mostly Shadows but you can use a lighter tone for some highlights.
Amazing video! When you put the Vallejo basic skin tone through the airbrush, what do you thin it with?
Just Vallejo thinner or water
@@TheCreativeCollector great thanks!
Fabulous video!!! What brushes do you use?
Honestly I use some cheap brushes from Amazon. I'm hard on my brushes so I don't spend a ton of money on them.
I am new into 3d Printing and I am in love with it. Seeing you print 1/4 made me want to to try to. I bought the recent Elegoo Mars 4, the issue will be printing 1/4 bases. What 3d printer you use for the bigger prints? Thank you I advance!
Check out the Elegoo Jupiter, Linant Deck, Uniformation GKTwo. Any mid size SLA printer will help you create bigger pieces.
Great tutorial, Im looking to work on larger scale figures like this. Is the one in the bottom left of your thumbnail Segal???
No that's Kraven the hunter
Hey CC, I've got a lot of models I'm planning on painting, that are showing a lot of skin (mostly human skin), instead of painting two layers of gray undercoat and two layers of color with zero shading and depth. Is there any methods of making some visually pleasing skin with shading, and outfits/uniforms with also good shading?
I'm still trying to get highlighting down, and how to correctly tie it to light sources and stuff. I heard one of the best beginner methods is to get a spray undercoat and just spray the model from above, using a white spray primer to simulate a light source.
Do people use washes for skin, for larger models that are also heavy on skin?
One last note, sort of new to mini painting any recommendations on any products to achieve these results?
Right now I've got the Game Master RP Paint set, but I've got the Vallejo Basic Paint Set & Vallejo Grey Primer coming in soon.
Down the line I'm thinking about the Vallejo Face/Skin Set, Citadel Reikland Fleshshade, Citadel Base Bugman's Glow, Citadel Layer Cadian Fleshtone, Citadel Layer Kislev Flesh.
You can use a zenithal method of shading with skin tones if you prefer. I like to use darker tones with an airbrush. You might want to use a white primer first when doing that much of skin tones. It can bring a lighter vibrance so you won't have to go too dark with the shading.
When you did the mecha pink shading was it at a normal layer consistency or was it really watered down like a glaze?
It was more of a glaze
11.17 i instantly was thinking Laser Creation-World cos of the music any one els had that ?
Hey man what do you prefer between a good airbrush and cheap compressor or a cheap airbrush with good compressor
Both can be cheap but still good. There are some expensive ones that aren't that good. lol
Curious what that hard rough brush is in the start? I've been looking for a brush like that for cleaning prints and haven't really found one yet.
It's a painters stipple brush but you can use an old toothbrush too. It works perfect 👌
Hi, can you use the airbrush in your apartment? I can open windows and stuff like that, but depending on the weather, it would be stupid on the balcony. I'm unsure about the paint mist, someone I know says no problem, he does it too, no problems, it's not that big, others say without a mini cabin, you'll mess up the room in the long run. How are your experiences?
I would look into getting a small paint booth. You'll have paint overspray everywhere. Plus it's not pleasant to breath in.
I appreciate you showing each of the colors you use.
When doing the fine stuff - eyes and eyelashes - what type of brushes are your Go-Tos?
This is really helping me out. I'm still pretty Green, and all of my early attempts Really SUCKED!
THANKS ever so much!
So for details I use a Tamiya detail brush. I have a link to all of the brushes I use in the description. Hope that helps you out!
@@TheCreativeCollector
It was right in front of me, and I still missed seeing it repeatedly 🤪
I'll happily give it a go.
Thank you, Sir!
just curios for the washes cold you just use liquid watercolors instead ? (cos you wont need to thin it anymore )
Im not sure. I've never tried that before. It may work.
That is amazing how life like the heads turned out. I will be doing my first Resin statue soon. It will be Homer Simpson as Boba Fett. Any suggestions on his skin color?
Something yellow based.
Just a single layer of the trans red and yellow, or do you build those up more than that?
You just want to cover the model. Layers don't really matter since you're taking it back off.
I was just about to ask you if youd done a video on using red/yellow and blue washes on skin. For the most part I think this covers it. Do you have any other videos covering this technique? Hope you're having a good holiday!
I think this one is all.
@@TheCreativeCollectorok no worries, thanks anyway. This one also helped me loads. Dude arent you on holiday now?
@danielcoombes3310 Yes I am. We're actually at the Village of Lore I believe.
@@TheCreativeCollector sweet is that the hobbit place we were all talking about on your live chat the other night? Now man I gotta say that's dedication still taking the time to reply even when your on your holls! Get back to it and both you and your wife enjoy the rest of your time 😀👍
@danielcoombes3310 Yep it's the same place. I just posted some pics on the discord.
I've a question where can I get yhat ghostrider kit in the background wow
It's a private commission.
Mate. You should get Krylon to sponsor you. You have bigged them up for years. Serious man.
Man I wish!
Do you do the same process and colors with female fleshtones just with the white primer?
Yes!
@@TheCreativeCollector tyvm
Could you list the names of the colours that you use, many thxs…great video by the way !
I did in the video
I want join to this job
How many years must working to professional
This isn't my job. It's just my hobby.
Im just battling Indiana Jones face and hands (yes Im really slow, but everything else is done) so this timing is excellen
Does anyone use tack cloth anymore? It works great to take out any shmutz from from sanding and so on.
Only bad thing is its hard to use on these small crevices plus a tack cloth can leave behind some residue too.
That is slick as sh#t brother!
I use my old DND leads painting skills… Toothpick with brushes!🤣 I HAVE been thinking off airbrushing. Any good starter tips or equipment recommendations?✌️🤘🇨🇦
Thanks. I got plenty of links for inexpensive stuff in my description
@@TheCreativeCollector 🤣As you can see: I am totally tech savvy too!🤣
Vontade de aprender isso ,mas tenho receio de nao conseguir fazer algo bom 😅
Practice my friend. Got to start somewhere.
@@TheCreativeCollector I'm try soon
Do you use anything to wipe down your prints before painting?
Nope. They're clean after I wash them in alcohol
@TheCreativeCollector
Henry, when you're doing the highlights and shading what do you set your PSI at ?
I usually set it at 30 to 35 psi
That Juggernaut could double as the Hulk
Agreed!
Hi, Why not put the red shade before the little dots texture?
Because when you put the freckle on first then put the red on it'll just wipe it all off.
ohh, nice. Thanks i lot.@@TheCreativeCollector
for glossy eyes how this product called?
Vallejo gloss
Krylon flat clear is hard to find now. I think it’s discontinued
My local Lowes has tons of it. Plus I get it from Amazon.
You are spending 15.00 a can ? That’s crazy
Nope. I'm spending 5.99 a can. Picked up 4 cans the other day.
Close enough 😂
Haha. Sorry if I butchered it.
close but not quite
You do better then. What's your TH-cam channel?
