    That's a pity but you are right, especially for important jobs the implements need to be reliable. My mower is 10 years old and it never gave any trouble as such!!

    Have a krone 280 easy cut since 2010 with no issues, would recommend as well but they are likely more expensive than a drum mower. A good investment though. A lely splendimo would be another good one.

    Hello from slovenia, land of Sip!
    And yes, sip is a bit crappy, from time to time.
    We had some sip things, but when it came time to buy something new...
    Krone AM243S
    JF R365
    JF Z665HYDRO
    self loading trailers are STEYR HAMSTER (a bit old, but still very good)
    ...
    Only manure spreader is from sip and we are not completely satisfied with it. But on the end of the day, the job is done.
    I wish you a lucky hand when buying a new machinery.

    • @thefunkyfarmer
      @thefunkyfarmer  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Ales, I didn't know anything about Sip machinery before I bought this and I won't buy their stuff again.
      It might be a while before we buy another mower as things are tight on the farm now that the milk price has dropped to a really low price.
      Cheer s

    I do not blame you for getting rid of it. You need reliable machines for all your harvest work. There are a lot of excellent mowers conditioners on the market like Claas, Krone, Taarup, lely ,kuhn. just to name a few. One of these makes should suit your needs and be no trouble for you. I have used both Claas and Taarup Mower conditioners and found that if you look after them and keep them well serviced they will look after you 10 fold.

    Hi,when you were buying a mower from Sip,you should look for drumcut drum s series,or better for the silvercut disk s,mower with the disks.Roto series are on the market for more than 20 years.In our country (Slovenia,from whear this mower is) they are very popular,speciali the model roto 135 and 165,because of uneven terrain and hills and because of small tractors.But in now days the disk mowers are very popular because they aren't so heavy,the are easier to to power with the smaller tractors and with disk mowers you are moweing higher (aboute 5-7cm) the grass starts to grow faster, dosen't get soo much shock in drought.They have the ALP series where the mowers and other attachments are lighter on weight and need for power.

      I can say from the first hand SIP machinec are the worst. Silver cut disc mower are slightly beather but very pricey and the ration betwen the price and performence is agein very bad.

      @@thefunkyfarmer the mower you need to buy this year is a Kuhn PZ 220 drum mower. All I've read are positive reviews, they are well made and they are as reliable as the big mowers. You are used to drum mowers at the end of the day. So stick to them. And get yourself a new Kuhn PZ 220 drum mower.

    What lister & wilder do you use richard? We use the one up elberton and they arent much cop! Had a merlo multifarmer and had nothing but problems with it breaking down just because it was a poor machine after a while they gave us a full refund along with the muck fork that came with it!
    We only use a claas disk mower work's ok for us, wouldnt mind a trailed one i dont think.

    My Twose had same issues, but it looks same design. We had two Samag as well like the KM22. I would buy a disc mower. If your Sip has the same design ie a flat bar with two holes in with a 16mm pin to lock it in and out of transport

    The jamming would be cured by lifting it up a tad and tilting the hitch back so the mower settles back instead of forward when released. When it settles forward like is does in that vid the latch re-engages the gate when you pull the mower past it.

    Sip gear hasn't got a great name in Australia either. If you decide to buy another new machine, I would give the krone disc mowers a big thumbs up. We have been running our 9ft krone disc mower for about 4 years now and it would have covered well over 1600ac without a problem. It's excellent for transporting as it folds vertical behind the tractor and the cutter bar seams very strong and also cuts very cleanly.

    Alright Rich how's everything been on the farm? Been unloading 3 wagons and drags of wheat straw the last couple of days ready for the winter ahead and the usual bore of maintenance, now don't know why I'm saying this however if you ever want to come down and look at the cattle farm and mostly the bulls if you look in the farmers guardian we advertise the bulls for sale under the name Gabriel Martinez if I remember right. Love to see you one day. Now in my opinion I would recommend Kuhn or class for a mower I've always thought they've been upfront and straight with us and produce good equipment. Loved you on the radio the other day Rich thought you were a professional speak soon. Andres

    • @Farmer_Lui
      @Farmer_Lui 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      SIP is a slovenian multinational company making agriculture equipment. It's not how you say it "cheap Chinese". But i have to say that the Roto 220 is known for having alot of problems. I myself have all my farming equipment SIP (loading wagon, belt rake, tedders and mower)and never had any problems. It's a brand that will last a long time (belt rake is SIP favorit 220 from 1985 and still use it on a daily basis) (old tedder SIP spider 220, only problem was new tires). I've had a SIP disc 260 s alp for quite a while now and haven't had any problems. Depens on what product you buy, not the company,
