Had a Deutz drum mower once. Liked it as it actually cut better than a disc mower. But wasonly a 5 ft. And swung out behind you as you traveled.

Reese drums are not timed at all. They are staggered just like multi-blade lawn mowers. The wobble is likely drum shaft bearings being out. Find some sealed bearing on ebay and replace them. I run a manual fold 2700 with tedder attachment and a 3100 trailed mower...both great mowers. The tedder attachment saves a lot of time by tedding while mowing and works great.

I own one for 20 years nearly, bullet proof. 1 set of belts, not much else to go wrong

Wont bounce and beat you up as much if you pull that TA back and just run it in 2nd gear high range, I cut hay with an 856 also. Seen how you were bouncing around and that TA being pushed up is why. Mine does the same thing

what does the field look like after you get it baled and cleaned up? I'm looking for how clean a drum mower cuts.

It cuts clean, looks the same as if cut by a disc mower.

How wide does it cut? And how fast are you going?

It takes an 8ft cut. I'm probably going 8mph in this video. It can mowe faster but the field has some bumps that limits the speed.

Will you tedd the hay before baling or do you make make baleage ? How long have you use the Reese mowers ? Any complaints with them ? Thanks , Mark

We usually tedd hay a couple times before baleing hay, depending on humidity. The reese mowers also have a tedding attachment that spreads the swath of hay out, but it wasn't used in this video.

Been making hay for about 6 years with them. The hydraulic lift mower on the ford is about worn out when I got it but still cuts well. And the manual fold was acquired recently to replace it. The belts are about the only thing that goes wrong with them so it's best to keep a replacement on hand.

@@Radog07 Reese mowers can't wear out beyond useability. Replace belts, bearings and switch drums around( left for right) every time you replace bearings.
