wow thats crazy I just Made a mock up of Canton Bulldogs Logo a few weeks ago that i thought would be an good name for the New XFL /USFL version of the UFL and didnt even know they actually had a team named The Canton Bulldogs in the 19060s league . Thanks for the video.
Wish I had a better pic of the UFL Canton logo. The original Canton Bulldogs played first in 1903. I was really hoping that nickname would get revived once more. Thank you for watching!
WOW! John I thought this video was about the other UFL that started in 2011 and end a few years later. This was a very interesting historical look at the UFL from the 1960's
Thanks! I learned about that league when I was researching some pro football history in Louisville. It was always intriguing and then when the merged leagues went with UFL, I had to dive back into it. Thank you for watching!
I have an original UFL football, probably from 1961. A number of the images you used are from my collection. The trophy used in your video was my father's, who played for Grand Rapids Blazers/Shamrocks. Grand Rapids (MI) was the league champion (1961) and runner-up (1962). Nice video. UFL teams were made up of players from the NFL and top NCAA teams. Nice video.
That's awesome! There was a website that Google scraped images from but the website address is unavailable. Luckily I was able to grab some images that way via Google. I'm fascinated by that league but finding info, video and pictures was quite the feat. Thank you for watching and commenting. That's really cool that some of the pics were from your collection.
Thanks, Nick. It's hard to find a lot on that league but it was definitely an interesting attempt at another pro football league just as the sport was starting to grow nationally.
I am surprised the name and the initials aren't a copyright/ trademark violation. Maybe the past leagues never thought about getting a copyright for the name and initials.
@@nickhill8612 Some people out there know much more about all that, but the league secured that copyright (along with National Spring Football League and maybe others). My guess is it had expired. There's a scam league going that also used UFL, so it was probably up for grabs.
I didn’t see the Michigan arrows in here. I bought their shirt. I didn’t even know the eagle was the Continental symbol for the league. I just bought it because it said Michigan.
And the Jacksonville Bulls one of the best logos & uniforms in the USFL.

Interesting! Thanks for sharing. I had never heard of the original UFL. Shawn R., Mo-Mutt Music/Sacred & Secular (and football fan)
It's one of those many leagues that spring up and disappear. Seems they all have some interesting stories nonetheless. Thanks for watching!
Your channel is so professional I love it.
Thank you! I'm still an amateur but enjoying it. I appreciate the comment and appreciate you watching.

@@johnlewissports I tried to link to my collection for you but it gets deleted. do you have an email?
Another great video now on hunt for a Louisville Raiders long sleeve.
Thank you, Chris! And if you find a shirt, let me know! I'd love to buy one. Can't find much on their logo but it's gotta be out there somewhere.
Wow that's really interesting.

I wasn't thinking about the copyright expiring.
You are wearing the original XFL shirt of the Memphis Maniacs!!!!!
Yessir! Loved the original XFL. Got it from Royal Retros. If you want to check them out, there's a link in the description (and a discount!)
Cool!
Glad you liked it!

The Arrows Continental Football League rather than UFL.
They better come out with these rankings soon or I’m gonna have a prom lol
Still waiting on that schedule!
How did I know None of this?
Now you do!
So technically this is the UFL 3.0
Technically so but I'd be surprised if there's not been some other UFL out there over the years, but this one was legit for awhile.
