omg i had this idea for so long just didnt know how to do it finally someone did it (tip: try to make it hang from corner of ladder so you also score the top ladder stake
Yo I was there today and saw it, apparently they have 6 motor drive system and with a piston they shift something so that all 6 motors go to lifting the thing, they also have carbon fiber wires on the side which I have no idea why. I assume with the pistons they will shift the gear because I heard they cut the gear in half. Also a 4 wheel set up even though 6 motors, I haven’t watched the video yet but that is my analysis without in dept understanding.
Vertical expansion is limited. Once the Match begins, Robots may expand vertically, but may never be “breaking the plane” of more than two Levels of the Ladder at any given time. For the purposes of this rule, the Floor is considered a Level. a. For a Robot that is on the Floor (i.e., not Climbing), this is effectively a height limit of 32”, the distance between the Floor and the top of the middle rung of the Ladder. b. This vertical limit is measured from the perspective of the Field; i.e., it does not “rotate with the Robot.”
Isn’t this an sg3 violation? I thought you can only be on two planes so your robot would have to be above the first bar before reaching above the second bar.
It's more than two planes meaning you can't touch or cross the third rung while still being on the first. You can go over the second while hanging from the first, however. It would be impossible to climb without being able to cross the next rung.

I literally have had this idea for months and my team almost has a version that works; congrats for getting it to work before us!
Same
Gremlin just setting the bar higher and higher !!!!!
finally we can have robots on the top

Time for the rebuild…
Aight, time to cop this design a week and a half before our comp :D
Same lmao
omg, best vid yet?!?!?!?
How does the double extension on the arms work. Is it a linear slide with a winch or some sort of cascade lift
Lezzzgooo FRC 2022 climb concept,
way better than the t3 hang we were working on
Bro my team has been trying the exact same thing. Love to see it that it actually works
This is an amazing design I first saw this from a first robotics team and since me an my team have been trying to do a hang similar to this
That lift is super cool, how does it work though
How did they do the double extension on the arms?
POV: Steeling this idea from VEX to FTC fr

If anyone has a better explanation I am all ears, also if anyone want to help I am in a Georgia tsa chapter close to Atlanta.
If possible could you guys explain what vex cad is
Dude echo is goated they are super nice
Well that was fast
WOW
@@Parker-Stewart wdym
What’s vex cad
💀cracked, time to hc, wish me luck
How do you get to vex cad and see this?
aaaand it’s all over jasonjiachenma’s face
awee
where to get the original video guys?
Doesnt the kicker at the bottom make them to tall?
finally this is leaked
2 videos in 1 day?!
actually 3
3 t3s ❤
Now we just gotta add a LB mech 🤔
🙈
rebuilding right now
Bro I had the exact same idea and I wasnt even there for frc or ftc... legit world stole my idea 😭
The question is how do they get off the ground fast enough so they can’t get legally denied hang
it doesn't look like it has anything illegal
@ I mean if you’re going to hang, how do you do it fast enough to where your opponent can’t legally stop you
Your opponent cannot legally stop you if you are touching the bar
Wouldn't this be a dq because of the explanation limit. Cuz that little arm that touched the bottom arm?
Make wall mech by using hook intake lift like echo with this hang than be most meta
Not to be a buzzkill but isn't this a DQ because there is a vertical expansion over more than 2 planes?
I don’t think so could you maybe give a timestamp where this happens
3:05 maybe?
Yes indeed he is extended above the gray bar and the mechanism stopping the robot from swinging is extended way below the black rung
It’s not a violation. The bottom anti-tip bar of the robot is retracted before reaching up to the next bar of the tower. It never crosses 3 at once
Im kinda stupid so I was wondering how is this not a dq? By the way great bot!
Why would it be a dq
At 3:05, does it not break three planes. Also I am sure I'm probably just missing some rule so I was just wondering what rule that was.
@@Praneel-c5wnah, its being passively elevated to a t1 so its only going up 1 tier at a time
Thank you so much. I was just wondering if I would be violating any rules if I hole counted this. :)
