Thanks for the video! After watching this, I tracked down a replacement glass and tackled the job like I knew how to do it. Since my rivet gun wasn’t big enough, I opted to bolt it back together. I used pan head bolts on the inside of the door and nylock nuts. Having the smooth bolt heads near the regulator cables will prevent future issues
Thanks player, couldn't of figured it out without you. The duralast replacement part came with threaded holes and bolts for the rivet replacement, it was way handy
This is great man, super detail, was concerned about the rivets. Going to be giving this a go when the snow melts in a month, please don't take this video down. Lol
Thanks for the video. I did mine and used stainless bolds and nylon nuts, worked great. My only issue is I have the bounce back issue at window auto full up. I have done the reset procedure and no luck. Any advice for that?
Hey I have a problem I’m trying to fix someone else’s mess up and the right track won’t line up either those two hole next to the speaker. And there’s no bracket on inside
We have a 2008 MKX whose rear driver side window feels like it slipped out of the track, and it wont go up or down, is it a similar procedure to take apart behind the door panel? Ive never removed rivets or replaced then before 😬
@PowerUpAuto oh no i know what your video is about but with our car we can hear the motor running but whole window panel seems to be dislodged from track. My question was if the 2008 MKX had the same metal shield that requires the removal of rivets.. other cars ive fixed things inside door panel had a plastic covering over window n door mechanisms, just wonderin if you guys knew. Ty so much for the response

Thank you. Couldn't have done this so beautifully without your help.
I didn't have a 1/4 inch rivet gun so I used 1/4 inch bolts with star washers and doubled nutted them. Thanks for the help

Thank you for this!
why oh why would Ford use rivets.. thanks for the video!
We need a video to put a drivers side window regulator on a 2010 Lincoln MKZ in please!!
Can u tell before removing door panel if it's the regulator or the window motor that is broken? Which is more likely to be broken? Thanks great video.
Its the regulator. The motors do not go bad
Can you list the tools needed

Its not off track. Its the window regulator. See the video above. Option B is to just lock the glass up and unplug the motor

@@jmha2428yes, your window motor is fine. The regulator is broken, not off track. Follow the video
Would it be the same but in mirror fashion to switch the regulator on driver side?
Yes
Well guess I'll be trying this dealership wants a kidney lol
You might be able to do this yourself. If not web search for power window repair and the city you are in. Someone should come up
To remove only window do u just remove the two blots only
Correct
@@PowerUpAuto thanks
My door won't close and the windows off track any ideas?
Window not off track, the regulator broke and needs to be replaced. See video above. As for the door not closing send a video and I'll take a look
Wicked Schmaaaat
Not sure if i can pull this off
