This game created a one-sided inside joke between me and my sister whenever we'd be discussing something that was terrible but had at least one good quality. I would always chime in with "Well at least the air combat was good!" and then she'd get mad. Good times.
SuperButterBuns As a Mormon, I loved your joke… LMAO. Also, strangely, I liked this game as child… but then I played 5 minutes a few months ago. This is indeed a Terrible Jak game, not a terrible game, just a terrible Jak game.

I bought this when it came out, and that was a weird situation. I was a huge fan of the original trilogy, but had no idea this game existed until I happened to see it in the case at Walmart. So I picked it up to complete the series, played it for a few minutes the day I bought it, then proceeded to completely forget it existed. In the years since I've seen it on the shelf a few times, set out to give it a real shot, only to get bored with it again after a few minutes and forget all about it again. It's like a black hole where attention goes to die. The most interesting thing about it is just how uninteresting it is.
If you have a PS2, 3, or 4 you should give the original trilogy a go. Regardless of how all these games compare to one another, the whole series is pretty damn good

I honestly enjoyed this one. The Eco shortage was because of the events of Jak 2 and 3 where praxis kept giving the metal heads Eco he couldn't afford to and in three with the war between KGB and Metalheads. To be honest it did feel like Jak but not a true sequel more like a spin off that we didnt really want As much as I enjoyed it its probably what killed the series I'm like one of ten people that liked it.
*Unpopular Opinion:* I actually do like the idea of Dark Daxter. For being in some of the titles (including the original game), Daxter always felt like one of the most useless sidekicks to me compared to likes of Clank or Kazooie. The first time he came in contact with the dark eco, Daxter turning into a precursor was just a lucky side effect. To my knowledge, it was never established, mentioned, or even hinted at that his ottsel form was immune to any further exposure to it.
Samot R. For $50?!?!? Funny I bought this on PSN for $20, I played a little bit of Jak and Daxter, played the demo before buying The Lost Frontier so I don't regret playing owning this game.

Ratchet and clank size matters is a great game. My only complaint is that it was too short. They did a lot of new things that was fun such as how the armour worked. Don't compare Jak and Daxter the lost frontier to Ratchet and Clank size matters. They may have been made by the same game developer but size matters was one of their better games they made!

Uh... no. I hate the game because of the game, not because of Clank. And the Clank in that game isn't even remotely similar to the Clank who appears in all other R&C titles. The gameplay is a complete mess later on (it's first trying to be stealth game which is fine, but then just runs out of ideas and starts adding platforming, shooting and the giant Clank section from Size Matters which just doesn't work in this game). The story is also uninteresting with an anti-climatic plot twist near the end which you had no way to see coming. The Ratchet sections are under utilized and repetitive and the Gadgetbot parts drag on forever. I've played every single R&C game and I can safely say this is the worst by far. Though that's just my opinion.
RayCarrot I always wonder why they didn't have the secret agent clank idea in the future series. It was so funny just seeing clank in the tuxedo trying to be cool.
Yeah, I don't mind the whole Secret Agent Clank idea. It was handled pretty well in Ratchet 3 and I'd love to see it expanded upon in an interesting way. I really love the Secret Agent Clank reference they added in Into the Nexus.
When I first started playing: "Ooh! Planes! And upgrades for those planes!" Halfway through the game: "Uhh..." After I finished the game: "What the fuck did I just play..."
if you ignore the jak and daxter part of it its a pretty good game, its just the fact that its trying to be jak and daxter that makes it a disapointment
I replied this game around 5 times, it was the only jak and daxter game I’ve played (I played the daxter stand-alone game for psp first), as a 10 year old, it was amazing
No, i enjoyed it at parts and deemed it good enogh to not be sold off to cex, aldo to be fair i never upgraded to xbox or ps3 or beyhond those so i spent most of my life playing on ps2 so undertandably i just enjoyed any game i got
I heard this background music somewhere else and came back here because I realized Buns uses it a lot and I NEED TO KNOW THE NAME OF IT I'VE BEEN DYING FOR AN HOUR
I'm only 15 now so back when I was playing this, all I can say was it was the coolest thing ever (however I feel like I was the games target audience at the time)
Your videos are absolutely hilarious, I recently moved out of my parents house and moved into my friends place. Once I saw he had a ps5, I finally got my hands on jak x and jak 3, my two favorite games as a kid, so I ultimately HAD to watch this video cause I never knew it existed until your trilogy video.
this was the first video i've ever saw and i gotta say you had me entertained SO MUCH LIKE WOW i grew up with Jak and Daxter but kinda lost it over these years, now found it back and played thru the story and i was wondering.. was there ever released something new? i kinda feel bad and also lucky at the same time for never hearing anything about the Lost Frontier.. you definetly answered all the questions i had. and u had me laughing so much i love ur commentary here so much
I enjoyed it as a kid especially the air combat until now im still trying to play it cause i broke my 1st psp i must say its really fun but maybe its only because i havent played any jak and daxter games but it sure made me wanna play it now more than ever
"Good ol' Mormon Boy" Hahahaha! I'm a Mormon and the Jak series is one of my favorite game series of all time. But yeah, it's so sad this was the last Jak & Daxter game we got.
I DON'T CARE WHAT THIS VIDEO SAYS, I PLAYED THIS GAME WHEN I WAS 11 ON THE PSP AND LIKED IT SO MUCH THAT I REPLAYED IT LIKE 6 OR 7 TIMES (literally) IN THE NEXT YEARS. Yeah, as a player and lover of the first Jak and Daxter, I still felt the difference and I infinety liked more the first game, but I still liked the lost frontier very much. Especially towards the end. I'm still affectionated to this game, and if my psp didn't broke I would play it again :") ALSO I'M 19 NOW AND SPACE PIRATES ARE STILL THE COOLEST THING EVER, FIGHT ME
0:35, see Buns. That's why you're the best Waifu material. I love the shit out of Jak X: Combat Racing, I've been waiting for an HD remastered ever since the Jak Collection. But it never came, but if it wasn't for you, ButterBuns, I probably would've never known about this announcement! Thanks you!
i loved this game. when i was a young boi (like 6) i was AMAZING at this game. i bought it on my ps4 and im currently playing it. so nostalgic and i love it
I loved this game, granted I was young when I played it, it was one of my first psp games and it was the first Jak and Daxter I ever played. I beat the game three times😂😂😂
I remember going into gamestop and seeing a poster for this game and getting more excited than anyone should be for anygame and buying it immediately taking it home and playing it for 5 to 10 minutes and realizing ive made a big mistake. Then quickly going back and returning it. It was so dispointing because it was part of my favorite franchise. Then a couple years later i tried again, hey maybe its not as bad as i thought i think i got 45 minutes in an hour tops and took it out cursing it and trying to forget it as fast as possible. You put it very well this has the skin of jak and daxter game but no heart or soul. This is an imposter of a game.
Yeah, he looks way more detailed than the previous Jak games. They added more fur to make it more like an animal than a pre-rendered CGI animation. He looks cuter also in this game.
I remember being so excited to play this game and beat it because the Jak game series is my number 1 game franchise, already completing the other games... but when i got my hands on this game. I could only play it for half an hour because even though it looked like the Jak games, it didnt FEEL like them. She hit it bang on the nail about the jump mechanics and rolling.
Imagine a universe where Naughty Dog made the real version of this game for the PS3 after Uncharted and called it Jak 4 The Lost Frontier. We were fucking robbed.
I think on PSP the experience was ideal, it was so much fun when I was younger, replayed the game more than I should have. Having it ported over I think is what made the other version just so shit because it was some really poor decision making, how so? Well they ported a PSP game over to PS2/3, the textures are low res because it was designed for the PSP, its one thing porting from PS3/2 to PSP because this way you could simply just downscale the textures and it'd be nice and dandy, with what High Impact games did is if they wanted to literally improve anything, they'd have to build brand new textures from scratch.
So you're going to publically say it's bad just because someone else publically said it was bad ? well then, i hope you enjoy what other people say they enjoy too
Leomagus funny part is i beat this game but i don't remember the levels on there but i remember the a couple of the levels on jak, and jak 2 i would say three but i never owned the game i only had the demo.
I played all three jak and daxter game back when i was younger which were my childhood to play since i loved the games so much. I also played jak X which was a cool race game but i never heard of this game ever before until 2018 when i went back to google the games and found it
I got this when I first got a psp, it's actually alright. The gameplay is solid & the flying was fun to an extent so I enjoyed it Buns. Wish you hadn't smashed this so hard.
Totally agree, it's a GREAT PSP game. Even a great Jak game for the PSP. I usually like SuperButterBuns, but she was way too hard on this one. It is a shitty port, but it was a good PSP game.
@@kristijanpetrovski2576 I 100% agree I was addicted to this game when i got it on psp... I also loved secret agent clank and ratchet and clank size matters they were great
I remember the time my sister rented the PS2 version of this game out since we both liked the Jak and Daxter series. I honestly don't remember what even happened during our playtime other than that fact that I never finished the game, and probably never will.
5:20-5:48 (as she rants my eyes dart back and forth a moment, I shift in my seat a moment then turn my head away) *mummers* I like space pirates. Plus they're *sky* pirates.
Late to the party, but whoo boi these Jak videos kick ass! The Jak series remains one of my favorite PS2 games (with Jak 2 being one of my favorite sequel games EVER) and was always curious about this one.. you have saved me a great deal of time.
This is the comment that's going to get all the hate, but I like Lost Frontier, it's what got me to play the other ones, and yes it was a crappy game but so are Jak 2 and 3, and don't you dare tell otherwise, the car controls for both games sucked, the physics where at an all time war with moving objects, Jak 2 had the worst hit detection, the worst checkpoints, both have weird infuriating difficulty spikes for no reason, and both games threw their core mechanic out the window witch was jumping and collecting stuff, the first game (The Precursor Legacy) will always be the best, lost Frontier is crap but the other 2 aren't as good as people say either
I watched one of your other videos, the one talking about Jak I-III, and was wondering why you liked combat racing so much, as I remembered not caring for it. Then I remembered that I never played Combat Racing. I played maybe an hour of this game, and my brain somehow managed to erase the time I played it from my mind, but just said "Yeah that last Jak game was no good, must've been the driving one, because I don't care for driving games". Remembering this game existed gave my brain whiplash
I have never played this game, but I did play either precursor legacy or a different one on ps2 so Im glad one of my fav youtubers at least remembers jak+daxter
As a little kid who loved these games around their release, I remember getting excited for this game after playing and owning the first three. Needless to say, I was severely disappointed once I beat the game. It just felt incomplete to me and it left a void in my childhood. I'm quite sad that these games died out as I saw them as unique and one of the best games of my childhood but I am happy that the original trilogy is being remastered again.
I always figured that after saving the world, winning a death race, and venting years of sexual frustration with Keira, that Jak just mellowed out and that was why he was way more chill in TLF. I mean, after fighting off a spaceship full of eco-horrors ... well air-pirates just don't register on any threat scale.

Between this game, Size Matters, & Secret Agent Clank, I feel that no one realized that PSP games should have never left the PSP
Mozata And what about KH Birth by Sleep? FF7 Crisis Core?
I stand by my original statement
I know KH BBS is not the greatest KH game but I found its a descend game and its doing well on the PS3.

I give it a 1 for not including dark/light jak
Princess Bubblegum I liked Dark/Light Jak from Jak 3 because it kind of reminded me of Yin/Yang from Taoism.
I dont think that game isn't so bad. Well alot people may not like it but I love the design of it.
Heard of it, never played it.
Adri Chibi Don't. Even if it's price has dropped a great deal in stores now, it really isn't worth your time.
i think its a great psp game id buy it
if you ignore the jak and daxter part of it its a pretty good game, its just the fact that its trying to be jak and daxter that makes it a disapointment
GuiltyX Halo You should be paid to play this.
I replied this game around 5 times, it was the only jak and daxter game I’ve played (I played the daxter stand-alone game for psp first), as a 10 year old, it was amazing
Buns, you only need to shorten this video to 2:29 - 2:32
SIde note, if anyone owns this game burn it. Final Frontier makes baby Jak cry.
It is called Dance Of The Reed Flutes
@@vjpearce Thank you so much, it was killing me how I didn't know the name of such a well known piece
@@lando4433 I didn't even know what it was called until I looked up the soundtrack of Fantasia. I remember hearing it in there.
STOP Oh God I'm having war flashbacks
Lumi Bean ir
I'm only 15 now so back when I was playing this, all I can say was it was the coolest thing ever (however I feel like I was the games target audience at the time)
Omg I accidentally came across you and I've been binge watching and you are fucking hilarious and get straight to the point and no sugar coating
Your videos are absolutely hilarious, I recently moved out of my parents house and moved into my friends place. Once I saw he had a ps5, I finally got my hands on jak x and jak 3, my two favorite games as a kid, so I ultimately HAD to watch this video cause I never knew it existed until your trilogy video.
this was the first video i've ever saw and i gotta say you had me entertained SO MUCH LIKE WOW
i grew up with Jak and Daxter but kinda lost it over these years, now found it back and played thru the story and i was wondering.. was there ever released something new?
i kinda feel bad and also lucky at the same time for never hearing anything about the Lost Frontier.. you definetly answered all the questions i had. and u had me laughing so much i love ur commentary here so much
i love the energy and enthusiasm of this person dude, 1 minute in and i already love this
I enjoyed it as a kid especially the air combat until now im still trying to play it cause i broke my 1st psp i must say its really fun but maybe its only because i havent played any jak and daxter games but it sure made me wanna play it now more than ever
Same
You guys gotta try out the OG trilogy ro cleanse yourself. Amen
I'm still affectionated to this game, and if my psp didn't broke I would play it again :") ALSO I'M 19 NOW AND SPACE PIRATES ARE STILL THE COOLEST THING EVER, FIGHT ME
I was trying to forget this game, thanks for reminding me :'(
0:35, see Buns. That's why you're the best Waifu material. I love the shit out of Jak X: Combat Racing, I've been waiting for an HD remastered ever since the Jak Collection. But it never came, but if it wasn't for you, ButterBuns, I probably would've never known about this announcement! Thanks you!

Jesus Christ
i loved this game. when i was a young boi (like 6) i was AMAZING at this game. i bought it on my ps4 and im currently playing it. so nostalgic and i love it
Alan Campos yeah I feel you . The game is not that bad. Bad sequel for console maybe, but it’s not as bad as she is saying
I think Daxter looks kind of cool in this game
Yeah, he looks way more detailed than the previous Jak games. They added more fur to make it more like an animal than a pre-rendered CGI animation. He looks cuter also in this game.
And as he complained about in jak 3 they game him pants
I remembered my dad borrowed his friends ps2 and this was one of the games, the most fun and haunting game of just emptiness
BUT I LOVE THIS GAME
I remember being so excited to play this game and beat it because the Jak game series is my number 1 game franchise, already completing the other games... but when i got my hands on this game. I could only play it for half an hour because even though it looked like the Jak games, it didnt FEEL like them. She hit it bang on the nail about the jump mechanics and rolling.
secret agent clank was what it was suppose to be a psp game
I actually liked this it's my childhood
Well of course you do you were kid back then so don't know any better 😂
I used to like this game as a kid.
I had shit taste.
So you're going to publically say it's bad just because someone else publically said it was bad ? well then, i hope you enjoy what other people say they enjoy too
Noobie WatcherZ He's just giving his own opinion since this video is about a game he has claimed to have played lol
By itself, It's good and is a decent amount of fun, but as a jak game? It's fucking horrendous.
Totally agree, it's a GREAT PSP game. Even a great Jak game for the PSP. I usually like
SuperButterBuns, but she was way too hard on this one. It is a shitty port, but it was a good PSP game.
@@kristijanpetrovski2576 I 100% agree I was addicted to this game when i got it on psp... I also loved secret agent clank and ratchet and clank size matters they were great
As a 12 year old this game was fun but yeah now looking back maybe not
Y’all, listen, I liked this game cause it was the first game I played ;-;
If I remember, this was the first Jak game I had....
Yeah...
Playing 2 atm, played some of 3, and around 2 minutes of 1...
This was actually one of my favorite psp games.
I remember the time my sister rented the PS2 version of this game out since we both liked the Jak and Daxter series. I honestly don't remember what even happened during our playtime other than that fact that I never finished the game, and probably never will.
"jak and daxter the last lag" should be this name!
5:20-5:48 (as she rants my eyes dart back and forth a moment, I shift in my seat a moment then turn my head away)
*mummers* I like space pirates. Plus they're *sky* pirates.
Lost Frontier was the best game!
(on PSP)
Bun why did you bring this game back into my life
i liked The Lost Frontier
Me too I love this game
Same
I just played it for the first time, like it's ok it's not that bad.
4:59 Glad to see you went out of your way to edit the spines of the boxes too.
But... But I like Space Pirates... Rogue Galaxy is one of my favorite games
Late to the party, but whoo boi these Jak videos kick ass! The Jak series remains one of my favorite PS2 games (with Jak 2 being one of my favorite sequel games EVER) and was always curious about this one.. you have saved me a great deal of time.
you always use the ps3 slim to show ps3 and it bothers me lol
I rank this series among one of my favourites of all time...
yet I NEVER heard of this???
*the best
You know I kinda wanted to do a playthrough of this game because I never played it but you changed my mind.. Thank you superbutterbuns.
I liked this game
Oh good, maybe I can finally play this on PS5
This is the comment that's going to get all the hate, but I like Lost Frontier, it's what got me to play the other ones, and yes it was a crappy game but so are Jak 2 and 3, and don't you dare tell otherwise, the car controls for both games sucked, the physics where at an all time war with moving objects, Jak 2 had the worst hit detection, the worst checkpoints, both have weird infuriating difficulty spikes for no reason, and both games threw their core mechanic out the window witch was jumping and collecting stuff, the first game (The Precursor Legacy) will always be the best, lost Frontier is crap but the other 2 aren't as good as people say either
i played this when i was young and liked it .... just replayed again about a month ago ..... "sigh" time to bleach my eyes and brain
I stumbled on this five year old video and now cannot unsee the lazy fish eyes. WHY
Miss Twinkie... w...why would you remind me of this? I... I was happy, I had forgotten!
I have never played this game, but I did play either precursor legacy or a different one on ps2 so Im glad one of my fav youtubers at least remembers jak+daxter
imagine establishing the existence of multiple planets and NOT following up on that in the next game
I remember it. It was my first game. In fact my first Sonic, Ratchet & Clank and Jak & Daxter games were all from the PSP.
I had this game for PS2 and young eight year old me found it enjoyable even though I had already played the other games before it.
8 year old problems lol
I feel called out. I enjoyed this game and Size Matters when I was younger. Probably just rose tinted glasses talking but I had loads of fun on them.
This was the first jax and dexter and I really enjoyed it because of how fantastic the worldbuilding was
