i played the first jak and daxter game at 4 years old and when i finally got my ps2 my cousin gave me his jak and daxter game and needess to say it was my very first ps2 game
blackwolfrules56 I wouldnt say better, but more. From what I know, Jak 3 has all the guns and vehicles from Jak 2 but with 2 new mods on each and new vehicles driven only in the wasteland with the same city vehicles. So yea, more
It seems Jak 3 is surrounded by mystery, I bought a copy of it and later that year found a second copy that I don't remember buying or even owning sitting in my desk and I was like "wait what"
after completing this mission about 35 times, I've worked out the formula, the exact route to go and exactly when to jump etc. (always use the hoverboard, sometimes you can jump off to punch through guards) Whoever created that mission is a motherfucker
I have never legitimitely finished that mission, what i instead did was farming dark eco for dark jak and using that one ground slam attack on the water to destroy the bot and hoverboard the rest of the way
My favorite thing to do within all 3 of these games was in 2 and 3 (but mainly 2) where you can shift up or down while flying gravity vehicles around the towns; moreover, flying the biggest one, shifting down, and then shifting up when you’re below the smaller bikes and watching them explode and then going on a full on rampage throughout the whole town until my vehicle finally exploded and the police inevitably introduced my demise, at which point I’d spawn and repeat for at least another 2 hours.
"That fricken area in the ghetto with the brown water and the boardwalks" I think everyone who has ever played this game knew what you were talking about without even watching the vid😂😂
I still remember when I got Jak 3 but didn't have a memory stick.. So my brothers and I did our best to baby the playstation while keeping it on 24/7 until we could get a card. I remember we *freaked out* whenever the power cut out shortly. I'd played through at least a quarter of it and we believed it was gone but we noticed the playstation never cut out! That was probably the biggest audible sigh of relief I've ever heard from us three And I always find it funny that even though my youngest brother hasn't ever really played games he loved this game and freaked just as big as my middle brother and I cause he liked watching but also REALLY wanted to try out the new vehicles Probably one of my most ridiculous and innocent video game memories I've got
Troy Roebuck I played Kingdom Hearts 2 without a memory card in the PS2. I had 99+ hours and was astounded that the playstation hadn't exploded at that point. My little sister turned it off to watch tv. I cried.
The legit same thing would happen with my brother and I. I would try to beat the game before I was told to sleep. Parents didn’t get how important it is
Someone has probably mentioned it before, but Jak’s first spoken words being “I’m going to kill praxis” has the double meaning that he’s ending the “praxis” of the old silent protagonist, replaced by his new edgy personality. There’s also the doing away with the collectathon gameplay too, it’s kinda cool
I think Keira was sidelined in Jak 3 because her original actor left and was replaced with Tara Strong. So, they didn't give her a lot of lines because they were afraid people would notice and respond negatively.
Electric Blaster wait what!?!!! Tara strong was a voice actor for Keira!?!?!! I mean I noticed the difference in her voice but just wrote it off as the actor ageing or something! Tara strong voiced Keira!?!?! Omg!
Sarah Marsh I know. That’s why I said it doesn’t sound right. So after hearing her voice in Jak X I looked it up. Kiera definitely had a very distinct voice to me from Jak and Daxter. So when I watched the JakX cutscenes I didn’t get the nostalgia when she talked and knew something was off
Fun fact. The German version had a male voice actor for Seam. He sounds a lot more serious and condescending in the German version while Jak sounds like he's voiced by a former punk rock band singer. Also Dexter's screams are just way more emotional.
God, I miss this trilogy. It made my childhood so much better. "The Jak world was truly original because it created a universe with backstory and it felt like a far off distant adventure world of a younger kid's fantasy." "It makes you feel like you've popped into a world much more deep than your current story." We seem to have the same mind.
Security tank kicked my ass, but it was more fair than most of the shit the game wants from you. Onin game. The reason it took me 3 years to beat the game.
For me, it's a tie between the sewer escort mission with the three guys, and that mission where you have to escape the docks while the entire damn army is attacking you, no cars in sight and there's an instakill drone that appears if you even think about touching any of the water.
Apparently they were gonna make one but decided to devote their time to The Last of Us. Probably for the best. Lol. But I would love to see Naughty Dog revisit the series or at least remaster.
Jak 3 was really fun back in the day when it came out. However after beating it a few times it's too short and way to easy of a game. This made Jak 3 a game that I don't replay as much anymore. I've beaten Jak 2 more times than Jak 3 and I find it to be way more fun since it is challenging. Jak 2 is the best game in the series. Best story, the gameplay changed a ton, the most challenging, and the most interesting.
SamVision Jak II has it's fair share of bad design choices, but not everything is badly designed. The difficulty however, is an inconsistent clusterfuck between fair and unfair though. I still love the game but it's quite flawed.
I personally have never played jak but I still have a deep emotional connection to these games. My older brother was very inexpressive and almost mute when I was younger so even though as a child I adored him, we didn't do a lot of sibling things. One day he got a ps2 with jak and he would play it everyday and I would always watch. These games helped me connect with my brother in a way I couldn't before and I'll always be thankful for that. Now sorry to ruin the meme video but I wanted to talk about how this game really impacted me as a kid . edit: I cant spell names apparently
Then how about you buy AND play the games, since you owe them that much >_> We got the PS3 Trilogy Remasters (2012) and the PS4 Tetralogy Up-Ports (2017), which come out next week.
OmegaExalted Jak X is killing me right now XD I absolutely hate one if the missions I have to do and it's the stupid team based power cell one. It's soooooo bull crap because the cells always spawn like right next to the enemy base XD
I remember on jak 2 one of my favorite things to do was get a hover car and change from low to high underneath the bikes, amd watch them ping away and explode. I swear im not a psychopath
I loved doing this and also comandeering and parking a bunch of hover cars in a high traffic area and using Dark Jak to explode all of them. Utter Chaos, my PS2 hated rendering that.
Jak 2 was my favorite because it was difficult. The checkpoints made it so if you failed a mission, one of your siblings (who had been bragging and harassing and back seat gaming you the entire time) wanted to play (and you switch off missions because there's a lot of you) then they could.
As the youngest of 3 brothers I hole heartedly agree I would get home from school first and start playing instantly just for them to get home and laugh as I die then I would sit in pure content watching them struggle far worse than I had omg the memories I think I am going to go buy the game and a ps2 just because this coment, the video, and the glow of nastalga I am bathing in right now
There was this one mission...something with a giant mech, a timer and no saves, and I could not beat it to save my life!! My little sister who was like 6 at the time and NEVER played the game because she couldn't walk 10 feet in game without dying..like seriously, she'd start running and the first thing she'd do was accidentally punch a guard and then panic and just stand there or spin while they all swarmed her. Well she SOMEHOW beat this ridiculous mission for me while I was doing chores. I walked in just to see her get the pat on the back notification for completing it. Needless to say . . .I was PISSED. Jak 2 was the greatest though. 3 was too easy and the only thing I remember about it was the sand and the twist ending.
@@insertedgynamehere___969 I gave up on fighting and just used my hoverboard to get past all of them. It took a couple tries and a lot of precision jumps but I didn't kill a soul :D
Jak X's soundtrack had queens of the Stone age in the intro. The song is "You think I ain't worth a dollar, but I feel like a millionare" or "millionare" for short
That mission >< and the one lurker sending you to the slums to ahh uhhmmm retrive a valuble artefact.. but once you finally Do beat those missions, best dopamine rush ever xD
So about Jak being Mar, there was never any actual confirmation, but the theory states that Jak is his own ancestor ala the grandfather paradox, and is The Mar.
Damas says he named jak after their lineage (IE: Mar) when he dies near the end of Jak 3, Ashlen asked Seem if he was actually the Mar that created Haven city (probably becuase she is a monk and was the closest person who'd know). The reason she asked is because time travel is a thing in the Jak and Daxter
The grandfather paradox is about traveling back in time to kill your own grandfather before they were able to have a child, which in turn eliminates your existence and thus making you unable to travel back in time to kill your grandfather in the first place. Not becoming the ancestor of your own line of who knows how many generations. No paradox here, since all he needed to do was doing the horizontal tango in the past ;)
@@mini-mei Indeed. Of greater note to me is the bootstraps paradox. When Jak first acquires the gauntlets in the sandstorm, Damas claims that they are "The very armor Mar once wore in his battles for this planet long ago." Under the assumption Jak going to become The Mar in his future (which was what I had theorized at the time. I also predicted the Kid being a younger Jak long before it was revealed). to me this suggested that this armor had no real origin because to be The Mar he'd have to travel back in time again really far back to build Haven City and protect the Precursor Stone from the Metal Heads presumably while wearing this same armor which would eventually get lost in the wasteland somehow until they are found by the 18-year old Jak and then he takes them back in time and thus the armor has no real origin. This is a bootstraps paradox.
@@JaelinBezel Never heard of that paradox by name (only how it 'works') so thanks for the info. However, it is not necessarily a paradox: He may have had the armor that he gained remade after traveling to the past. Armor is breakable after all. Since he was the one who found it when 18, he may very well have given orders to burry his armor at the location he found it after his passing, making it more of self fulfilling prophecy than a paradox. But that is pure speculation on my part. Since the information given by Damas is the only one available in game (that we know of) it does point to being a paradox, yes. The kid being Jak is pretty much obvious the moment you meet the little fella. The only thing I did not see coming was the Baron paying off the metalheads and the old man being the metalhead leader.
Yes it is Canonically the 4th Jak game, but it's titled Jak X Combat Racing (for that early 2000's edge) and duh it's already been released, so have all the other games. It's being re-released, partly for sales and partly to remedy the HORRIFIC bug on the PS2 which couldn't be fixed, that caused the game to corrupt your save data every 1/10 times you saved
I loved this trilogy so much. My mom got me and my brother Jak2 on PlayStation 2 when we were kids, fell in love with the world. It’s suuuper nostalgic now.
Still some of the best games, trilogies and platformers, ever. Really makes me wish NDI would release another Jak game on PS4. This was like on Mario's level of platforming goodness, except Jak always had a better story, graphics, characters, gameplay, features, audio and more.
Jak II was by far my favourite. It took everything great about the original and added in so much more. It felt almost like two games worth of gameplay in one. Jak III by contrast just felt like more of the same but with one new vehicle and some new areas. It feels like an extended DLC package rather than a full game in its own right. It's still good, mind. But I think it could've been truly great if they had more than a single year to get it out. And yeah, switching the romantic subplot away from Keira in the third game felt weird and pointless. Glad they rectified it in Jak X.
"The payoff isn't as good 'cause they keep moving the goalpost. Ya feel?" Nothing has ever described Jak 3 better. I've always maintained that that Jak 3's game play is the best in the series. But the plot suffers as it progresses through the game. Strong at first, but convoluted by the conclusion.
Jak 2 was so annoying to play as a kid who didn't know what to do and had nothing else to do. But it was quite fun from time to time. The worst part was that dock part, where you had to run and there was like a million guns pointed at you. Like wtf is that level?
@@Andres_Acosta well as a dumb kid it was hard and like annoying. Because I had like no power up or something to become like the purple version or something.
Key Ruin oh me neither in fact for the dock mission i used the hover board to escape cause even with ammo and dark jak it was not possible. But the turret section..............took 4 years to beat. 4 lives, 40 enemies, a gun that overheats every second and no check point.............i still have nightmares 😖
When I played Jack III, I realized something. The enemies and scenarios in Jack III are WAY thougher than the ones in Jack II, it's just that the new upgrades they give you between light jack and the higher upgrade guns are just so broken it prevents these much tougher enemies and scenarios from actually being a challenge. So, they quadruple the enemies capabilities and the complexity of the scenarios, and then increase your capabilities by X20. Thus, it actually becomes a lot easier. However, this is where you have prime fertile ground for a challenge playthrough. So, I played through the game with everything that was new to Jack III banned with the exception of light-jack powers, dark Jack invisibility, and dark Jack [wall breaker bomb] that could be used ONLY in places where they were required in order to clear an obstacle but not to assist in combat in any way. On top of that, once you start to get health upgrades, you have to suicide the moment you take 8 points of damage. I cleared that challenge playthrough, it was tough as nails, and it was one HELL of a lot of fun! There was one truly unfair point though in the sewer mission right after you get that gyro stalker upgrade (3rd tier for the yellow gun.) One part of that sewer mission was actually designed to be the one place in the game where that gun was required. I considered unbanning it several times just for the sake of passing that section. However, I kept the ban and somehow managed to make it through anyway after dying about a million times. Yeah... I must have been a freaking masochist to have put myself through that. But, it was worth it, because now I have bragging rights! (Seriously though, if anyone wants to try the challenge playthrough I just described, the gyro-stalker is un-banned for that one room in the sewer. You don't have to be as much of an idiot as I was. I think the rule should be that you are allowed to fire it twice per life in that room only.)
Gus98Bus I mean, the fact that Seem is voiced by a woman doesn't prove the gender. Plenty of animated characters, like Bart Simpson or some female cast members in Bob's Burger, are voiced by the opposite gender. Sometimes certain voices work with certain characters, no matter what gender they are.
Jak is Mar I have been trying to fix the timeline but my head hurts because young Jak is born in the future, lives in the past, grows up, travels to the future, and sends his young jak to the past. Predestination Paradox
In my opinion I think you critiqued a limit too harshly. Jak 2 was mostly accurate of what you said, but I enjoyed using dark Jak as a last resort, it was hard as fuck to fill that meter and that was the point, that against all odds you are the one to win which I thought was done well. He didn't need much innovativeness because he was so strong it spoke for itself. Whereas in Jack 3 you have both light and dark with different abilities: essentially offense and defense. Which goes along with fighting multiple types of enemies and different types of missions to utilize both sides. As for the guns in Jak 3 they all had their uses, and everyone has a favorite weapon of course, but it's meant to be the way it was for diversity, if you're expecting to have all guns shoot multiple rounds and have good strength you could literally use one weapon, I loved Both and thought 3 was done well all around, just my opinion
Meh, in my opinion 1 was by far the best and I wish they had expanded on that rather than pulling a 180° on the series. I think the Sly Cooper franchise is a shining example of taking a good game and building off of what worked and fixing what didn't.
@RapaRama jak 3 ain't better than 2 ..also the precursor legacy explored so many locations like underwater levels , jungles ,swamps, snowy mountains, caves i don't know what else they could do with it..
Jak X is such a good game and still fits into the series really well, same with Daxter, I absolutely love both of those game. Jak X is easily the best of the "cart combat racing" games imo. We won't talk about that one other Jak game that came out, cause it was awful.
That dammed mission! I died dozen or times for each meter I advanced! I remember using the hooverboard, but Im not sure. I want to play this game again now!
It would take me a few tries but I always tried to use the hover board and use flips on the guards heads to knock them outta the way then ride outta there. Granted it wasn’t a consistent strategy because sometimes you fell in the water or got shot up with bullets but, It was the go to idea every play through I had.
Warrior Within's tone was justified completly by the story-I mean Prince feared for his life and had to escape from Dahaka in between Sands of Time and sequel. Dahaka started to chase him after Forgotten Sands story for 7 years so I think tone of that game was completly reasonable and on par with change of Prince's character through all these years. I never understood people that hated WW because of that.
I thought I was the only one... granted I started the series with Warrior Within, but I was really hooked into the gameplay and the level design. Also the game was had plenty of stuff in it, I thought the whole game was over with just two towers but no, the cells, the sewers, the caves, the library, etc. etc. this game was pretty solid. Also LOVED the artwork and the atmosphere in the game.
Sooooo I just so happen to see this on the side suggestions from a random video from Meg Turney.. and... I was not dissapointed. Your narration and editing coupled with a both polite and critical (with humor) review of a game I literally grew up on, loved, and still have to this day -- gonna make me look at your other vids and subscribe.
If you have a PS4 you can get all four games for like 20-25 bucks. I happily own all of them for both PS2 and PS4. Jak X is kind of pissing me off right no though >->. Stupid capture the power cell game... Freaking bullshite
OMG You hit the nail on the head with this review/yell/rant/thing! As someone who played the Jack series a lot, I found myself nodding in agreement along with your points and laughing at the jokes that were too real for anyone who played the series. You did such a fantastic job with this! Not to mention you have a great speaking (and yelling) voice and the editing was simple/effective and you're funny and cool and omg are you single please be single
The only thing I absolutely dread about Jak 2 I that racing mission in Haven City with Earol. That mission made me want to punch a small child. Other than that still my favorite jak game just to many good memories.
Fuck the shit water town mission with all the fucking swat ships forcing you to stop or get shot by an invincible ship. FUCK THAT MISSION. Oh and we can't forget the fact that START OVER if you lose, enemies spawn behind you, and there was a grand total of 0 health packs on those fucking boardwalks. ALSO you can't just swim under cause a magic fucking robot will one shot you if you even dip your toe in there. Fuckin shit water town.
Mister Cheese lol yeah that mission was really pissing me off because if you stopped to kill everything then they'd surround you non-stop and if you tried to rush then the ships started firing at you. Killed me about a dozen times til I popped out the hover board and just fled straight to the end. You'd think Dark Jak would be handy there but aside from the emergency room killer, which was good to clear the enemies out for a couple seconds, it was really more of a hindrance. And if you needed it, used it, and died, then restarting loaded Jak back without dark eco so you were even more screwed. God I love this game
I always just assumed the Dark Eco turned Jak into another monster, or something far worse, and the fade out was to leave his ultimate fate up to your imagination.
29:36 Although Damas does give him the name Mar after their supposed ancestor, the Precursors actually do hint at the end of the game that Jak will have adventures in the past. That's why Ashelin asks if he's the original Mar and why at the end of Jak II, Samos said he had a feeling they would meet Mar.
Yup.. This series was probably my favorite of all time. I was just old enough to really get sucked into story, have fun with violence and open-world stuff was new to me. I would play Jak 2 and 3 so much, I'd sometimes dream about them! I got a strategy guide for it and it came with this kickass poster.
The mission I hated the most in the entire trilogy was operating the turret of that blue vehicle in Haven City in Jak 3. To this day it is the bane of my existence.
I think each game got progressively better. I was playing these in middle school back in the day and it was a perfect trilogy after spending the turn of the century on Crash Bandicoot. Each Jak release came with new and improved mechanics, and the dune buggy in 3 is so fun. I’d even argue that the Jak racing game was solid AF as well.
I personally found Jak 2 to be much more challenging than the N.Sane Trilogy. I mean, there were times when I had to look for help on the internet because I was doing what the game was telling me and still died like with that dock mission where you get attacked by countless guards. In the N.Sane trilogy however, all I had to do was keep trying until I succeed and beat all three games. Again, this is my personal experience with the two games and it's fine if you don't agree.. There are also some tricks you could use in some levels in the N.Sane Trilogy that will make them much easier. For example, you can actually walk on one of the ropes in the bridge levels and avoid all obstacles in the way. This won't work through the whole stage, but it should make completing it much easier. My ten year old brother used this trick and managed to finish all the bridge stages in the game all by himself. He even said he liked the bridge stages which baffled me to no end.
When you think about, it was much worse when Jak 2 came out because the internet wasn't as popular as it is right now and not enough people had access to it. I'm sure probably a lot of people bought the game unaware of how different it is from the first game and had no easy way to get help in the tough missions.
"In the N'sane Trilogy however, all I had to do was keep trying until I succeed and beat all three games." W..T..F you mean? This applies to Jak II as well. It's better in Jak's case as you have TRUE infinite lives and you never have to restart the level if you hit a checkpoint. Crash puts you through loading screens, gives you a full game over screen, and resets all progress you made when you lose all your lives. Smh.
I'm aware of that. What I meant is that I found the N.Sane Trilogy much easier because of how simplistic the game play is. I never felt lost or that I was doing something wrong. I mean all you could do is jump, spin and slide. Most of the time, the enemies you will come across will attack you one at a time and they have certain patterns you could easily follow. If you were precise and time it right then you won't fall or hit Nitro crates too many times. I didn't require help from the internet through the whole trilogy. As for Jak 2, you have four weapons to choose from and there are specific ones you should use in certain missions. A bunch of enemies could come at you from any direction and even surround you. Most of them use guns and could shoot you from a distance. If you run out of ammo then you'll be in big trouble because it's not always easy to get close enough to them and punch them. There is also the thing with the vehicles where someone shoot you while you're driving from below or you could crash into other vehicles while you're in a rush to get somewhere. In addition, there are missions where you have to protect someone and keep them alive while enemies attack them. I'm not saying Jak 2 is a terrible game. I had fun with it and I just found N.Sane Trilogy much easier. I do believe that game difficulty is subjective and if you think Jak 2 is easier then it's okay.
Extreme Light9 Mk. JII really isnt that hard though, it's just specific levels. Ammo is only an issue for ppl who keep dying, favor 1, maybe 2 also, guns, and/or especially miss more shots than they land. I grew up favoring the yellow gun 85% of the time, so I ran out of ammo on it a lot, especially when I spammed shots till they landed. That's all different now :]
Since the TH-cam comment section is kinda crap, I'm gonna throw out some complements. I thought this video was good. Thank you Buns for making it. (And now I sit and wait for people to reply with unnecessary hate)
I think I know what mission. It's been quite a while since I played it, but there was this part where Jak and a Team of Jerks were in the sewers or something. Like I said, it's been a while. But I remember having to quit that game because it was really pissing me off. Unless it's just me, which wouldn't surprise me. I'm not known to be very good at video games. I did eventually finish the game, though I believe I finished the third before I attempted to finish the second
As a child of the early 2000s and remember when these games were brand new, jak and dexter, ratchet and clank, and fable are all games that will hold a place in my heart forever because these games were my childhood and what made my childhood better
I beat J&D 4 times, J2 9 times, and Jak3 twice. I'm due to play through Jak3 again. Probably one of the most beloved franchises in the history of my life.
What if I still watch this and haven't played the games.

Troy Roebuck I played Kingdom Hearts 2 without a memory card in the PS2. I had 99+ hours and was astounded that the playstation hadn't exploded at that point. My little sister turned it off to watch tv. I cried.
That was like me as a kid with my n64 trying to play through quest 64 with no memory card. That shit was GRINDY and not easy
The legit same thing would happen with my brother and I. I would try to beat the game before I was told to sleep. Parents didn’t get how important it is
Same the furthest I ever made it was to the light echo
Those memory sticks sure brings up some sweet memories haha.
Omg!
@@HogoshaAndImbachi She voiced Seem too my dude.
Yeah I just watched Jak X cutscenes and said “was Timmy Turner ALWAYS Kiera? This doesn’t sound right, I’m picturing a pink hat wearing 10 year old”
@@Mikol_Billy She wasnt always Keira, she only voiced her from Jak 3 onwards
Sarah Marsh I know. That’s why I said it doesn’t sound right. So after hearing her voice in Jak X I looked it up. Kiera definitely had a very distinct voice to me from Jak and Daxter. So when I watched the JakX cutscenes I didn’t get the nostalgia when she talked and knew something was off
Seam "This isn't a game"
Me: Wait a second I know that voice *quick Google* THAT'S TARA STRONG!
Fun fact. The German version had a male voice actor for Seam. He sounds a lot more serious and condescending in the German version while Jak sounds like he's voiced by a former punk rock band singer. Also Dexter's screams are just way more emotional.
I'm so glad this popped up in my recommended videos. This was a blast. Great video, great channel, great games.
good memes too
God, I miss this trilogy. It made my childhood so much better.
"The Jak world was truly original because it created a universe with backstory and it felt like a far off distant adventure world of a younger kid's fantasy."
"It makes you feel like you've popped into a world much more deep than your current story."
We seem to have the same mind.
My question to you all is:
Which will come first, Jak 4 or Half-Life 3?
Nice trick question, the answer is the end of the universe
Half-life 4
Does the Lost Frontier count as Jak 4?
No, if anything, the daxter psp game is jak 4
And the racing game was 5.
The racing game was really fun to be honest
STALKER 2, duh.
Every mission in Jak 2 were “that level”
SorryBones that level is eeeeevvvviillllll
That freakin security tank like 4 missions in......
Security tank kicked my ass, but it was more fair than most of the shit the game wants from you. Onin game. The reason it took me 3 years to beat the game.
not every mission. One of the few I thought was easy was going out the city to the plumbing to fix the water flow.
For me, it's a tie between the sewer escort mission with the three guys, and that mission where you have to escape the docks while the entire damn army is attacking you, no cars in sight and there's an instakill drone that appears if you even think about touching any of the water.
a jak remake like they did with spyro
I wouldve preferred that instead of the port we got
That and the sly cooper trilogy.
Yeah! And ratchet and clank! CORRECTLY THIS TIME!
Why bother? They hold up just fine with HD textures. It's not like PS1 games where everything was low poly and disgusting
I hope so, I also wish to play it on my Xbox so I don’t buy another console.
Real talk, I would pay full price if Jak 4 came out right now.
That would be amazinh
Apparently they were gonna make one but decided to devote their time to The Last of Us. Probably for the best. Lol. But I would love to see Naughty Dog revisit the series or at least remaster.
@@Jacobmelrose26 I wish they return to their cartoon roots once in awhile
Jak 3 was really fun back in the day when it came out. However after beating it a few times it's too short and way to easy of a game. This made Jak 3 a game that I don't replay as much anymore. I've beaten Jak 2 more times than Jak 3 and I find it to be way more fun since it is challenging. Jak 2 is the best game in the series. Best story, the gameplay changed a ton, the most challenging, and the most interesting.
Jak 2 isn't challenging at all, it's just cheap. Lots of artificial difficulty and bad design choices disguised as challenge.
Road Slow 720 Fuck we are very different people. I don't replay Jak 2 specifically because of how challenging it is. I have PTSD from that game.
SamVision Jak II has it's fair share of bad design choices, but not everything is badly designed. The difficulty however, is an inconsistent clusterfuck between fair and unfair though. I still love the game but it's quite flawed.
samvision no you are just shit.
opli gang No you're just fucking dumb. Jak 2 had literally no checkpoints
That's a really sweet thing, aww
Lauren Smith so you were the Daxter to his Jak?
Then how about you buy AND play the games, since you owe them that much >_> We got the PS3 Trilogy Remasters (2012) and the PS4 Tetralogy Up-Ports (2017), which come out next week.

I remember on jak 2 one of my favorite things to do was get a hover car and change from low to high underneath the bikes, amd watch them ping away and explode. I swear im not a psychopath
It had this very satisfying pop when you hit the bike right, followed by the explosion of the vehicle. So enjoyable
'POP..KBLENG'
I loved doing this and also comandeering and parking a bunch of hover cars in a high traffic area and using Dark Jak to explode all of them. Utter Chaos, my PS2 hated rendering that.

Jak 2 was so innovative and amazing, I would have been so disappointed as a kid had I bought it and it be just the same as the first.
I came here for one thing and I got it. The 4th wall break reference. I think of that scene everything I hear someone say "this isn't a game"
MidoriCrow heard this line when I was 12 and lost my shit. I was like bro it is a game son!
I hope you make an aside glance.
“Baby’s 1st GTA” is a fantastic description for Jak II😂
Remember that one mission in the slums, where you have to fight endless hordes of guards to get out and going in the water means instant death

The grandfather paradox does happen with the metal heads since they become they're own ancestors
The Next for beginners will be on Nier Automata

Your editing and review skills are beyond flawless. Im dying of laughter and getting a good grasp of the trilogy.
Excellent writing, delivery, and editing. Very well done.
"The payoff isn't as good 'cause they keep moving the goalpost. Ya feel?"
Nothing has ever described Jak 3 better.

Key Ruin nah that was a walk in the park, now the on rails section in the mine with the flying guards.............................. hell on earth 😖

Keira and Ashelyn .... woof woof

This comment really triggers me.
@@LieRenThePope why
Look at how he spelled the game names.
Oh, didnt see that
I assume Seem is a chick cuz she's voiced by Tara Strong and is essentially Raven so yeah.
Lol, I would say Seem is a guy because I only played the german version and he has a guy voice 100%. Also has no female features.
Daxter calls Seem "monk boy" but it's not like he can be wrong.
So I just gave up trying to find out. :/
In the Jak 3 Developer commentary, Seem is referred to as "she", so it's safe to assume Seem is a woman.
Gus98Bus seem is voice by a guy in Spanish dub. He is definitely male in the Spanish version.
In my opinion Jak 3 is a top 5 game of all time.
Jak 2 way better
Jak 2 felt a lot longer but jak 3 had funner missions
I would much rather have a prequel about Mar
Liquid Atom isn't that technically the first one because of the plot twist?
Jak is Mar
I think he means a prequel about the time Mar created Haven City
not much of a game there...he made a city...boom done
Jak is Mar I have been trying to fix the timeline but my head hurts because young Jak is born in the future, lives in the past, grows up, travels to the future, and sends his young jak to the past. Predestination Paradox
Jak3 was so damn good
matty9460 nope
Not even close, my opinion is 2nd was best then 1st and 3rd
Mine was jak3 too since i never really played 1 and 2
Meh jak 2 was better
Jak 2>jak 3 >jak 1
My favorite was the Arc Welder
Meh, in my opinion 1 was by far the best and I wish they had expanded on that rather than pulling a 180° on the series. I think the Sly Cooper franchise is a shining example of taking a good game and building off of what worked and fixing what didn't.
@RapaRama jak 3 ain't better than 2 ..also the precursor legacy explored so many locations like underwater levels , jungles ,swamps, snowy mountains, caves i don't know what else they could do with it..
At least keira gets with him in Jak X
Jak X is such a good game and still fits into the series really well, same with Daxter, I absolutely love both of those game. Jak X is easily the best of the "cart combat racing" games imo.

Prince Of Persia will always hold the award for most drastic sequel tone shift
Oh lord...
While not really a sequel, the shift in tone from Conker's Pocket Tales to Conker's Bad Fur Day is easily the most drastic out there.
Oh yea

The only thing I absolutely dread about Jak 2 I that racing mission in Haven City with Earol. That mission made me want to punch a small child. Other than that still my favorite jak game just to many good memories.
Jacob Williams me and my older brother were able to beat that mission no problem at all.
Mister Cheese use the hover board lmao
The one really early on?
I always just assumed the Dark Eco turned Jak into another monster, or something far worse, and the fade out was to leave his ultimate fate up to your imagination.
Holy shit that's dark.
I love it.
"He may be closer than you think"
After tess got turned into an ottsol, daxters pants came right off. if ya know what i mean.
"Hey, let's talk about the Jak series."
Fans: REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Jaks audience grew up, becoming more mature, so did the game. Im so happy with were they went with jak 2 and 3.

Jak 2 was awesome, some good memories with that game. Loved the open city, so much to see and do and was always different, ah nostalgia
Dovahgatr Dark Souls is "Jak-like"
When you think about, it was much worse when Jak 2 came out because the internet wasn't as popular as it is right now and not enough people had access to it. I'm sure probably a lot of people bought the game unaware of how different it is from the first game and had no easy way to get help in the tough missions.
"In the N'sane Trilogy however, all I had to do was keep trying until I succeed and beat all three games."
W..T..F you mean?
Thanks for the nostalgia! I'm off to see if my ps2 still works...
Since the TH-cam comment section is kinda crap, I'm gonna throw out some complements.
I thought this video was good. Thank you Buns for making it.
(And now I sit and wait for people to reply with unnecessary hate)
JayClarkus great comment. Have a good day.
Why thank you. I wish you a good day as well.
JayClarkus No hate. I'm just going to sit here and be neutral.
You smell like poop.
Is that hateful enough for you?
JayClarkus nope not me I know u probably thought that people would be like this but I actually like superbutterbuns
This is so phenomenally done! Awesome writing, awesome voicework, and awesome editing. Overall, a fantastic breakdown of some damn good classics ^__^
Jak 2 difficulty was perfection, except for that 1 MISSION
That one mission... I still cry myself to sleep thinking of that mission.... FUCK YOU WATER DRONES... FUCK YOU KG... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK, NUKE IT ALL!
Do you mean the turret section? That one became real nasty on on Hero Mode.
yup thats the one
And the Tank mission. Fuck that part
Why are you in my recommendations? Better question why aren’t I subscribed?
I love you, you say it straight.
Yeah I beat J&D #1 north of 15 times
You sound like Mary-Beth Maybelle from GTA San Andreas, but like you're having a cactus enema
Did Shadow just pump that M16
Did you call a MP5 a M16?
Omega Synth I don’t even know how to shoot a gun and I know that’s not an M16
@@lunartick4678 he's real for true fans
@@lunartick4678 well ok
This is the first video I’ve seen on this channel and I love it. The delivery and editing is fantastic, and the review was spot on. Love this series
